    It’s a honor to see Paper Dungeons in the most important Board Game channel of TH-cam. We love your job Mr. Vasel. Thanks for the review.

      I’d like to know why the sheets aren’t double sided?

      @@victorgonzalez2927why wasn’t it just 4-6 dry erase boards? If I want to save the thing I’ll take a picture on my phone.

    Some spots have hair. Hair adds +1 Disgust, but can be swept away using 1 Hand Swipe or 1 Finger Flick.

    Sounds awesome! I really like these roll n write that really put you into action (and not just filling blanks =P)

    This is clearly inspired by the arcade classic "Gauntlet."

    I know this is blasphemous to mention this here; but it really really reminds me of Desktop Dungeon on PC (if anyone wants to check it out).

    Trying to find a board game that scratches the itch like D100 dungeon. This sort of does some of it. Tiny epic dungeons does some. But just can't quite hit what I want. Any suggestions?

    I'm kinda intrigued by this one. I like that the game isn't too complicated and offers some interesting choices. Tom, I'm curious, are all of the player sheets initially identical? Since there are not many, would it make sense to laminate a few for repeatable use?

    • @Sephyr6
      @Sephyr6 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sounds like they’re all identical and then you make modifications based on the cards that come out at the start.

    I Like this game, it’s interesting and fun, but I think the minion or at least the 3 monster battles should have more to them, maybe some dice rolling that is effected by your levels idk..

    This game looks like it might be similar to Fleet: The Dice Game. Are they similar? How do they compare (theme aside)?

    • @rinnu7551
      @rinnu7551 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't play Fleet the dice game yet but I have watch people play and it's one of the best rolls and writes games. However, there are a few differences between these games and I end up picking up PDs (Paper Dungeons) over Fleet. The first reason is the price generally cheaper ( I got one for $ CA 25 plus tax ), while I can't find a new copy of Fleet around that price ( $CA 36 plus tax is the best price I can find). The second reason is PDs are offered more replayability than fleet, they have a different scenario with different dungeon set up and monsters. Not to mention the skills card will different every time you play, give a game new refreshing. The third is the theme is different for sure, Fleet is about fishing and builds the town, while PDs is about dungeons crawling. The solo mode is better in PDs because it keeps most of the original gameplay from PVP, while In Fleet you try to beat the ridiculous overpower AI ( and just only one type of AI ). However, that doesn't mean that Fleet the dice game is bad, they have a double side paper pad ( PDs only single side ) and a unique theme. But for the price they offered, it's not worth it consider you have to play the same game, again and again, it does not offer me long-term replayability. I would say Fleet is not a competitor with PDs, PDs is overall ”better” than Fleet. I guess now PDs is one of my favourite rolls and write games besides Cartographers.

    at 10:14... "What did you think about the concept where you roll three dice and pick three of them?"... doesn't sound like much of a choice... :)

    • @steelman774
      @steelman774 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah. Blooper reel fodder. 🤣 Luckily, when he did the HowTo part, he showed rolling 6 dice and picking 3 for numbers, colors or symbols. The other guff I noticed was at 10:47 when he says it’s Mathematical and Ruby totally yawns it off. 😴 That makes me giggle on two levels since Tom used to be a Math Teacher. Kids… Gotta love ‘em. 🤷‍♂️

    Roll & writes that don’t print on both sides of the sheet are almost an automatic pass for me. It’s really shortsighted and wish publishers would print on both sides.
    Also love how Tom uses a leading question to get his daughters to answer the way he would.

    • @rinnu7551
      @rinnu7551 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, both sides are much better and can reuse and play more. But I still order a copy anyway, it seems a cool and fun game.

      Just laminate a few. They do give you quite a few in the box. Color copies work too.

      I also don't understand that - wouldn't it be cheaper to print on both sides? Such a waste of paper :/
