    I just bought a 2015 impreza sedan base model 5 speed. I traded in a 2005 civic and i was out the door at $17,300. Great deal. Alot of car for the money spent. Its my first subaru and all i can say is wow. Great car. Its not a race car, its not a wrx and yes it is slightly underpowered but the fuel economy is great. I averaged 37 mpg on the highway and i average 25 around town stop and go. I dont try to get good gas mileage either i just have fun with the 5 speed. It takes turns great compared to my 05 civic. I will own subarus forever. My next one will either be a crosstrek or a forester or maybe an outback for the higher ground clearance..

      Daniel George I cant wait to get a subaru some day. Glad to hear that you like it. Also, the forester and the outback, both have the same amount of ground clearance.

      I have the 1.6 version in the UK, its 112 bhp but I dont struggle anywhere because with boxer engines you just get the revs up and its perfectly fine. Subaru wouldnt make it with this power if they thought it was no good. I don’t hold anyone up and can accelerate pretty quick simply because I know how to get the best out of it, if required. Happy to tootle along and let all the impatient idiots fly past.

    Hey Zack, keep up the great videos. Will you be reviewing the refreshed Subaru XV Crosstrek? This is the car I am looking to purchase. Thanks

    I have the hatchback model in the UK. Its a great car, a reliable comfortable workhorse for every road and weather condition.

    I love this car, 20000$ for a AWD. Great deal.

    Great bang for your buck. Subaru in my area is running a ton of deals on Impreza's as well. I got mine about 5 months ago and love it. Mine is the 5 speed and the gearbox does not feel to bad, steering could be a bit heavier, and the brakes could have more feeling but nonetheless for a compact entry level car it definitely beats a lot of its competitors.
    Also turn the traction control off and you can go do some dirt donuts ;)

    I'm impressed with it but still miss the shift on the fly I had on my '87 LE sedan. Too bad it doesn't come with a V6 option. Thx

    Good review. I have no plan of getting this car because it is underpowered. But the review is interesting that I watched it twice. Nice job.

      Underpowered for what ? I have the 1.6 version with manual gearbox in the UK. Guess what ? It does the speed limit easily. No problem. People who think they need powerful cars are usually impatient drivers.

    I'm thinking about getting a 5-speed manual, base Impreza... Is it good for a daily commuter in both summer and winter time?

    Hey Zack, great review as always! Just a question, what are your thoughts on the Levorg? And how do you think they would do here if they were on sale in Canada? There seems to be a lack of smaller wagon on the market, and both the Golf/jetta wagon and the V60 don't quite fill all the boxes for me. (V60 would completely break the bank).

      MatchuCT I'm sure it would del but they have no plans to bring it in.

    Something that really bothers me about Subaru is the cheap bling low profile tires.
    Why would you want a car that is so capable in all types of conditions and put less capable wheels on it ? All car makers should offer an opt out for all low profile tires.
    I've seen so many cars on the side of the highway with the rubber peeled clean off.

    If you want what the old Honda Civic hatchback used to be = large windows for good visibility all around, good fuel efficiency, hatchback for hauling the occasional larger items, then try an Impreza and you might like it.
    A Honda Fit is also a good replacement for the older Civic hatchback designs, so try both and compare them.

      Funny you should say that I was looking at a Honda fit and subaru impreza when I was looking for my current car went with the impreza because 1 5spd manual
      2 the dealership seemed to treat it's customers with more respect

    Has the "sound deadening" been carried across all models? The interior noise on the highway is one of the reasons I didn't purchase a Crosstrek

      Just had one for rental, and it is still pretty loud on the highway. The old Crosstrek must had been really loud.

    So the 2015 Impreza or the 2015 Legacy? I am looking to drive it as a daily and will be driving in a heavy snow environment in the winter, similar to Maine, for anyone that knows what that's like. Thoughts?

    • @msndotnet01
      @msndotnet01 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Legacy is a much better car in my opinion. I would trade my impreza for it. If you're getting the legacy get the 2..5i touring

    Combine A Subaru Impreza with Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 tires mine are studdless and you get something for under $23,000 that will keep up with any all wheel drives in any winter snow or ice conditions.

    Subaru too cheap to provide plates for their press fleet? I thought it was kind of funny to see all these BC temp permits on their press cars. Hope it didn't ruin your shots too much. :)

    sound deadening more like extra weight, i test drove these when i had the 99' legacy wagon in 2012, i felt the car was a downgrade from my old ass wagon, i bought a 08 2.5i impreza felt soooo much better,

      Dylan Piekarski I'd rather get a Golf R :)

    • @plainlybasic2300
      @plainlybasic2300 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      There both nice cars, and are nearly the same price. While i do like the Golf R, i would take a Subaru over it. As a company, Subaru is surprisingly.....humble. As a product, Subaru's are extremely safe, have good resale value, good mpg, and one of the best AWD/ Drive-train setups, quite literally world renowned. I'm not bashing, simply saying.......i love and want a Subaru, any Subaru, so much it pains me to say i would take one over nearly any super-car. Good luck if you buy a Golf! :)

    • @FantomLightning
      @FantomLightning 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a deal if you're in the US for $169 a month. But it has to be the base trim with the 5 speed, with 2K down I believe.

    • @Sjrick
      @Sjrick 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah that wont work for me, i need no money down and automatic. thx

      do you have one ? Do you like it ?

    • @br33zin
      @br33zin 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sjrick Very doubtful. I had the base model and paid $289. I just upgraded to the sport and now pay $360.

    • @umaxen01
      @umaxen01 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      br33zin Now THAT was a rip off since the sport gets better resale when you take it back and they sell it as a used car. The sport should have cost you LESS to lease...

    Nobody buying Subaru for looks anyway right. So Subaru guesses there is no problem. Ugly front is especially ugly around fog lights Color of the car and rims are OK

    • @crisissocoylike
      @crisissocoylike 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol the people buying the Subaru Impreza are people who want good fuel economy, reliability PLUS AWD. Otherwise they'd get civics/Corollas. Not everyone cares about looks. Otherwise, this car doesn't look that bad. Looks like the classic 1999 Honda Accord, a bit more sporty.
