ODST is pretty underappreciated. Sadie's Story, the intense night time atmosphere and genuinely genius score are essential parts of my childhood. It could have been so much more, but it's still superb as is and often goes under the radar. Marty's music is again phenomenal and features his best work in my opinion. 1:00 this sends shivers down my spine. This piece of music is so evocative. Masterful textures. Unnerving and mysterious. God I can't believe how talented Marty and Michael are.
Next to Halo CE, I see ODST as the most innovative game in the series. It really took what was good about CE into an entirely new direction while still being familiar.
For me, it felt like an add-on rather than a full game. Hence, I didn't care to buy it since "finishing the fight". Most of it looks like what Halo 2 would have been, through the E3 demo.
That and real stealth mechanics + making your guy weaker than Chief (which, logically, he should have been) to incentivize stealth and using your squad
i feel lik this game transcends time, i do not know why in halo 5 they did not make the characters this likable. i want more odst games, not to mention the score in this game is so legendary that i still listen to it till this day
Given the greed of Microsoft and the mishandling of the Halo franchise as a whole We are lucky we even got this game It was meant to be an expansion yes, and as a full game it could have had more features including multiplayer and forge. At the very least matching making for firefight. But a game like this would have never been green lit today. We only got it as Bungie had to fulfill a contractual obligation to produce 5 Halo games. And out of that was born my favorite game of all time.
The only thing in ODST I did not like was the enemy lineup. It takes place during the events of Halo 2, before the Elites were fully replaced by the Brutes. But in ODST the Brutes had already taken over, and there was not a single sign of Elites anywhere in the game, not even betrayed corpses of them. On top of that, the armor the Brutes used was advanced shielded armor that they did not get access to for a few weeks to a month after their replacement of the Elites leading into the timeline of Halo 3. The game should have featured Elites as the main command enemy with Brutes mixed in from time to time in a similar fashion to what Reach ended up doing, not already have the Elites fully replaced by the Brutes yet.

It makes me so sad we're never gonna have passion like this agein😔
I was deceived they give this same attention to the TV show and Infinite but nope. Just falling apart
@left_rios bro could you imagine an odst show? Omg I'd re watch it for years
The only thing that would make ODST better would be if you had to command the squad to survive like in Star Wars Republic Commando
Sev and The Rookie, i miss em
@@nickm5419 agreed, may their souls rest in the manda

In Buck's first mission, you can find a bunch of dead elites and Buck will comment on them. He even asks someone on his comms about it.
That's what I was gonna say. He's gotta go back and play it again and pay more attention.😂@@mayorofbagtown9097
