Great review. Always like the way you conclude things. As an owner of 310GS and after 9K kms I you like to only add few things - 1. Upshift is smooth. Downshift is horrible. My bike has been with the Motorrad for 2 months for fixing the gear issue as it used to get stuck at 4th and I was able to upshift only. So I used to kill the engine switch to N and start again. 2. The speed I clocked is 147kmph with the flow of wind and mileage was 26kmpl. 3. Tank capacity and the range meter is out of sync. It shows 420kms whereas with 30kmpl and 11L tank it should be 310 to 320kms. Don't blindly go with the range number in the dashboard.
Few points as I own gs310 from last 8 months : 1. Gearbox as said if you try shift before 3000 rpm, you'll feel like you are gonna break your leg. 2. Average yes, if you drive it very sanely on highways at around 80 to 100kmph, you can even get up to 38kmpl but mostly on longer rides but in city traffic don't expect anything more than 26kmpl. 3. It is easy to ride even in bumper to bumper traffic but yeah while parking on the side of the road the length of the bike can cause issue as many time the length crosses the white parking line. 4. Heating yes, in bumper traffic the tank gets very warm but nothing which you couldn't manage. It cools down as soon as you get some speed. 5. The headlight performance is decent but position changes as easily as you increase load on the bike. You'll either have to play with the preload or adjust the headlight itself. If any more point I remember, I'll definitely add them here!. Thankyou!
I always feel uncomfortable seeing you riding without the gear. Or am I hardwired to think you need to be all dressed up from watching all the other channels. You and @c90adventures are changing my mindset on riding in urban and cross-country trips.
In the city i don't ride with riding gears because I am going to work or some work engagement.. While making these city vlogs.. Yes but i ride with gears when I ride with the intent of going out.. it is good to wear riding gears

Not everyone is A solo rider and it is possible that a couple is equally interested in long rides and even offroads at times if not very rigorous. Please share if u hve experience about it. Best is if the pillion rider shares his / her experience.

This bike goes to 145.. But how comfortable it is at that speed matters.. same for Himalayan.. Depends on your definition of comfort.. I feel my bike is uncomfortable & I don't push.. My Baja chetak used to click 115kmph.. doesn't mean it is meant for that speed.. hope I put my point fairly.. God bless!
i am from hyd. planning to buy a premium bike for long drives - probably hyd to bangalore. also once ina while with a pillion ride for a max of 150-200 km, is this bike recommended. any other alternatives.
This a very good bike and a great mix of offroad on Road capability.. If you are looking at speed on highway this bike will disappoint a bit.. but is very comfortable.. KTM adv 390 is more engaging on highway but isn't as comfortable.. That choice you will have to make.. Rest to answer your question.. it is recommended by me provided you are clear you bought it for the right reasons
Thanks for your inputs. I have bought 310 GS the new rally sports colour- white/blue. Loved it every second when I am riding it. Definitely a smile on face kind of bike when riding. Been driving in city so far - its good experience. Hoping to have a good experience on highway as well.

If you are buying it because.. you are short of money then don't buy.. if you are buying it because you are getting a good deal then only buy.. it is a slightly more expensive bike to maintain

If you are mostly into highway rides .. And like the looks of it .. Can get both your feet down.. then 390 adv.. but if you are looking as a all round good performer with off-road then BMW is fundamentally a better bike.. but it is slightly boring on highways
GS has got everything but the maintenance is on the expensive side which is not pocket friendly to every Indian rider who has a dream of owning super bike. I don't know why the GS tank is designed muscular while it only carries 11ltrs which really affects the bike range while touring.. Nowadays the bike companies are bluffing us only by giving the travel suspensions with few features and cosmetics changes in their bikes.. The GS isn't a proper off-roader not the adventure 390 but Himalayan is.. Which is specially designed for touring not for commuting in cities..
Well the answer is yes & no! . Vstrom is a better bike for long distance touring but this bike would be better off road.. If you are more interested in touring then V Strom is a more comfortable & a better bike.
Splendour is an awesome bike.. aankh bad karke le lo..Don't feel bad.. tumhaara bhi time aayega.. Main ek time Pe cycle bhi nahin khareed sakta tha! 🤗❤️

It is comfortable for a pillion as well.. although my wife doesn't enjoy it .. but anyone used to riding as a pillion will be happy with it

The tank shape is big for you to comfortably hold it with thighs.. the capacity is less to keep the centre of gravity low
