Is it against the law for a man to be at lesbian bar? I can’t stand social hall monitors. It’s a public space. You shouldn’t be asking people why they’re there. For being so inclusive they sure try to keep their definition of undesirables out. What a vile display..

Theres only one Lesbian bar/club in NYC which Henrietta Hudson. The cubbyhole is a Queer bar. And let’s not even talk about the fact that most of these don’t cater to POC

In my opinion people should mind their business and not worry about others. She approached him because he was in line to use the restroom, that's crazy to me.

That man got confrontational for no reason and she asked are you here with someone. It's a well known lesbian bar in the Era. He knew it.

So should gay people be excluded from non-gay bars and clubs? I get that we need seclusion but don’t we also need to be inclusive? We expect others to be to us.

Gays and lesbians are different two different sexes. Dont claim gay means all homosexual individuals. I get what you are putting out there. The man has the right to be wherever he want to go. Long as he does not cause trouble.

I used to work security at a gay bar in NJ, we had no problem letting anyone in as long as they were respectful!!! There was one night a month that an organization would reserve the club for women only. That is legally allowed and w that we were able to refuse all men from coming in! But all other nights we had to b on our toes, especially weekends. Being a woman, I had to go into the men's room and stop certain activities! In the women's room, I found a straight guy PISSING IN THE SINK, I did go a little overboard w that incident and physically threw him out!!! I have many more stories, but the point is to act right, and b respectful. Everyone knows when alcohol is involved...

Who ever approached ol' boy was triggered and reacted within that trigger because he didn't outright present unstraightness energy, which isn't fair because she's judging him based on appearance, which I know she wouldn't like if it was directed at her. She didn't need to approach him because he's straight. Straights can go to gay/ lesbian bars, there's no "rule" against it, just be kind and respectful is all. Just be a good person. She was wrong for that and could influence his perspective in a negative light. She was very silly for approaching him. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
Straight people go to gay bars, and gay people go to straight bars.
    The End. 😅

That’s… not what happened… at all. She approached him because he was blocking the bathroom, not because of his perceived straightness. If that actually were the case, then she would’ve gone up to the straight woman who made the first video and ask the same thing.
What happened was that he got grumpy and rude after he was asked to move out of the way for blocking the bathrooms. I can assure you that if he didn’t have an attitude, she wouldn’t have asked if he was here with somebody. Maybe she felt unsafe in that moment and decided to ask for a safety check. He then goes and asks her would it be a problem if he didn’t come with a lesbian and she said yes. After that, he, the straight woman, and her friend group had a knee-jerk reaction and came at her because they probably felt entitled to this space. A space that was not designed for them. THAT is the problem.
So sure, straight people CAN go to gay bars and gay people CAN go to straight bars. However, you’re missing a few key elements here. Gay people were constantly excluded from and didn’t feel space in straight spaces, so gay people decided to create their own. When straight people go to gay/queer spaces alone, it can cause a safety issue. Obviously, not all straight people, but certainly enough to spoil the whole bunch.
There are only 27 lesbian bars in the US, specifically and gay bars designed for gay/queer men are also dwindling down, but there’s more of them than lesbian bars designed for queer women. Straight people as a whole have everywhere else that they can go to. Like I said, straight people can go to those spaces, but it’s much more appropriate if you were invited by another LGBTQ+ person, since once again… straight people can absolutely make gay/lesbian spaces unsafe for the gay/lesbian folks there.
If he, as well as the friend group, had a negative perspective afterwards, then that’s their issue to deal with. The lesbian who approached the guy was only trying to protect the very few spaces they have because they’ve had bad experiences with straight people entering this bar and causing havoc. Again, not ALL straight people, but a whole lot. 🤷🏻‍♂️
EDIT: Forgot to mention that if you’re a straight person and you’re being invited to go into a gay bar from a gay friend, you’re still a guest and should respect the space. If you’re cool and you ARE respecting the space, then I can assure you that NO ONE is gonna go up to you and ask you why you’re there because you’re straight. That’s just not a thing.
