The real answer: Current devs didn't make Genji or Hanzo so they have no feelings towards them, meanwhile they made weaver, new sombra, new bastion, new orisa, sorta new hog, Kiri, Illari. i think juno is the first new hero these new devs designed. all those you mentioned was made by the same people that worked on ow1. they were just leftovers. this isn't the case like you say it is because even older heroes like brig get preferential treatment. their design philosophy is to dumb down the game so that more casuals can play it. so very similar to the old ow1 devs. just execuiting in different ways

I think something that should be mentioned too is that Genji content creators have dramatically dropped since OW2. Shadder, Necros, Water, WHORU, and others just don’t play the game anymore. We really are in the darkest timeline if Necros, the man who pulled out Genji during goats and double shield, left the game cuz of how bad the hero is

Genji has had his damage stolen, his techniques patched, and on top of that, his relationship with Mercy was retconned. If anybody deserves a villain arc, it’s him.

@@chocky1584 early in OW2 they've been hinting towards Mercy and Pharah. through interactions we learned Genji stopped writing letters to Mercy, almost no in-game interactions bewteen Genji and Mercy, and Pharah randomly announced as bi. And I'm pretty sure the head writer at the time was a big PhaMercy shipper

I hate to say this because i know ill get shit on by higher rank players but i think moira is badly designed. Her orbs can deal damage at great range without aiming, her sucking does damage at great range without aiming but thats not enough so she also has a great movement ability and is very mobile. Who actually thought this trough and thought it was okay? I honestly think her sucking damage range should be halved. Now shit on me, let me hear what everyone has to say.

The healing is too high, simple. Several free escape buttons and denying abilities like immos and pull. The support role is consistently the most infuriating role to kill. It's always easier to kill dps than supports. A support's presence pretty much ensures that I get 0 value.
As a support player, I also hate lamp and suzu. They really need to replace them with more skillful abilities. I think pull is mostly fine since it has a long cooldown and only saves 1 person, but I do understand how it can be frustrating at times.
Busted abilities like suzu and lamp should have never made it into the game
What about 20% healing reduction
1. I play tank, doesn't apply.
2. It's a bandaid fix because of this problem.
And it has to be to counteract the fact that there isn’t another tank to help out. With the existence of 5v5, the 2 supports have to basically do what they already did while also act like mini off tanks that enable the team to pressure the enemy team.
It is amazing to analyze how reducing one tank leads to a domino effect for balancing that affects all roles. One less tank means one less stop for dps players to get kills. Leave it unchecked and the supports will feel like their role is pointless since they can’t simply out heal the lack of an off tank. This means invulnerability abilities and pulls need to be added to basically do what the off tank would do but way less fairly. But this causes dps to get screwed out of getting kills they would have gotten otherwise. Blizzard adds in the anti-heal passive which checks the increased healing but does nothing to abilities like suzu and lifegrip.
They completely nuked the Shimada Brothers who have the most viewed cinematic in PlayOverwatch 😢 No one has been done dirtier than the Shimada Brothers

1 thing most people don't talk about Hanzo is how Blizzard portrays him in the recent lore and story. In the last official novel story about Hanzo named "Where's Honor Live", he gets beat up by 3 Hashimoto gang members and dragged to their base while unconscious, then later rescued by Kiriko. They are not super-strong-hard-trained ones, just 3 random gang members. They are not even armed with guns like when Kiriko fought them, just stick and sword and that's enough to beat the shit out of the literally a demi-god that Doomfist tried so hard to get him to join Talon.
God Hanzo needs more love. He has so much potential. Doomfist even says that he‘s a sleeping dragon. Like Hanzo is a monster.
You're so right, that story pissed me off! Hanzo, who literally works as an assassin, who has killed multiple assassins sent to kill him, who has been courted by Talon for his talents, immediately gets caught when he tries following some dumbass Hashimoto goons (after kicking their asses in the Dragons short, btw). Then, while fighting them in a NARROW ALLEY, he refuses to ult until he is almost dead. He also never uses storm arrow iirc.
Then it turns out Hanzo's dragons aren't spirits at all and Kiri's dad enchants the weapons or whatever to make the dragons spawn. But Kiriko actually has a fox spirit because she is the specialist girl. Then Kiriko saves Hanzo without breaking a sweat because she is so much more skilled than him despite being 21 and having very little combat experience.
I hate Kiriko and I hate the Hashimoto storyline. They want to make Hanzo look like an incompetent idiot to make Kiriko look better in comparison. They're forcing Hanzo to be Kiri's grumpy sidekick instead of doing the redemption arc with Genji they hinted at in Dragons. Whhyy do this when Dragons is the most iconic OW short?!

The short story that's supposed to be for Hanzo spends the entire time victim-blaming him and calling him a coward and weak for wanting to leave his abusive and manipulative family, completely shoehorning and ignoring his entire character development and mental health problems in favor of having him relapsing into doing whatever his family would've wanted (even though they forced him to kill his own brother).
Because apparently suffering from mental health problems, being abused and manipulated doesn't matter if you're a man, I guess.
Seriously, the writer for that story did such a HORRIBLE job. for real.
If that wasn't enough, the writer decided to retcon the spirit dragons into being some form of technology that can for some reason ONLY be made and replicated by Kiriko's dad (Despite the Dragons cinematic establishing them as spirits and saying only Shimadas can control them), which is just another excuse to things and power AWAY from the Shimada Bros and give it to Kiriko and her random family that no one cares about. (Not to mention, the explanation is just so boring and makes it so one-dimensional. "Everything needs to have an explanation with technology").
Kiriko and The Hashimoto shouldn't have been anywhere in the story at all, and just had Hanzo fit null sector until Overwatch showed up for a mission to help, where he could reconnect with Genji and officially join Overwatch (something that was hinted at for like 8 years.)

Failing with visor still gives your team space since the enemy has to hide even if you don't get kills.
Failing with blade usually loses your team the fight since you die and leave the team in a 4v5.
And with the amount of movement speed, healing and bail-out abilities. You might get 0 kills and die from the enemies just using their normal abilities despite you doing the best with what you have.
OW is turning into a mobile game with minimum player input and maximum monetization
Hanzo : copium caused him to be the state he is in. Everytime people die they just cope and say its a lucky shot which is funny cause people almost never say this about widow who is basically hanzo but better in almost every single way. They nerfed his 1 shot but not widows. Remember ow devs said 1 shots are oppresive but never touched widows 1 shot which is tge most oppressive 1 shot in tge game for years. To give them credit they did bring it back but nerfed it since it was "spammy" why not nerf the spammy ability storm arrow. Why nerf primary fire.
Genji : ngl supports are partly to blame for this. Dying to genji is a skill issue. He is one of the most if not the hardest character to play so if he kills you its skill. Also genji has so many counters. Its not hard killing him. Supports cant handle getting dived which is a team based mechanic in the game. The devs started making op supports who are just dps that can heal. Bap is a big reason his lamp is way to op. Its an ultimate level ability on cooldown. Bap is can basically 1v1v most if not all heroes including tanks. That is horribke design suppors should not be fighting equal footing with tanks.
Also the balance is horrible. Dragonblade does 110 damage.
Zarya secondary fire does the same

Hanzo dragon strike increased speed is a net nerf since it travels faster its iveral damage is lower since the dragon passed people faster.
Also why cant it destroy deployables like lamp and pylon
i main widow and i say hanzo is better in every way, he can play on ALL MAPS and be effective, he's good at ALL RANGES, he's good against dives too, i don't get how people find it hard to use is 1000 times easier than widow

Was playing Genji in QP the other night just to vibe and play some Genji. At the end I looked at the scoreboards from all the games and 80% of them ended with an enemy Moira. Super fun.

Horrible, horrible take. Reworking Genji in any way would permanently ruin the character because that’s not what he needs. Another reason is that his design is objectively incredibly fun and everyone loves it. The fact that Genji is unplayable is not because his design is bad, it’s because of power creep. That’s like reworking Tracer or Winston. These 3 heroes are perfectly designed. Don’t change their design just because everything around them is badly designed.

I started playing OW around the 2017 Halloween event, which I think is like Season 7-ish? Early on, Genji became my main and the only reason I have hundreds of hours into these games. I never found any other FPS games to be as fun as OW because of characters like Genji. I will never forget when Moira was added to the game, it was and still is, one of the most unhealthiest matchups in any competitive game ever. I thought she was the single worse designed character in the game, and in retrospect, one of the worst designed characters in any competitive PvP game ever.
7 years later and nothing has changed. Genji has been forgotten in the dumpster. Half my games have people running Moira, and the games that dont have her, the Supports will swap once I start performing well.
Its ridiculous that Genji, one of the hardest characters to pick up and to master gets hardcountered by the most brainless character in OW history

So true, I main support and support used to be skillful. I started playing support back then because support was not played as much but then the ‘Twitter support mains’ start to whine whine and they indirectly and directly buff supports and add dumb free value abilities like aoe heals and immorts (which was what caused goats and double sheild). Support feels like your riding a bike with training wheels now with how many auto aim there is. This is why Ana and Lucio are my most played, they are the two supports that allows you to express skill and has no dumb free value abilities (I wouldn’t consider nade and sleep dumb abilities because the problem is the 5v5 lower the skill floor of those cooldowns, not the hero itself)

I know you touched on it a little bit with the Widow vs Hanzo segment but this video feels a lot more like the “blizzard are pandering to whiney support players argument”, which is obviously true in some aspects, however I think your focus should actually be “blizzard are pandering to hitscan dps players.”
Every time I get on Overwatch right now with my girlfriend just trying to have a fun time on QUICK PLAY every game my idea is “I’m just going to play Genji or Echo maybe even some Hanzo and have a fun time” but in each of these horrible games it’s just a Cassidy or Ashe player on the enemy team running rampant firing on my team with all the free space in the world! And I genuinely cannot compete against that as a projectile player because as we know, the hitscans have WAY more consistency at the mid-long range and I mean come on you really want to try and close the distance on a Cass and Ashe that can just roll away, coach gun away when you try and engage on them with your dash as Genji? If I even want to be slightly competitive in these games and try and win then I am forced to swap to Ashe, run it down main and fire away because that’s what Overwatch 2 is all about.
The current state of this game is made to appeal to braindead call of duty players that only get on the game to shoot each other, hit some “clips” and then get off - if you want to play any sort of projectile hero then you can just swap to pharah or give it up because no other projectile character can compete against these privileged, brainless, zero positioning, zero game knowledge and zero skill hitscan players!
Hopefully you agree with this take because I genuinely think it’s killing the game right now, even in pro play Ashe and tracer are the only competitive choices so it’s not even just a casual take really.
I'm a Hitscan players, actually I'm a Flex. I do not agree that Hitscans are pandered to, I think what changes they did to Cassidy is insanely confusing because I was like. "He was fine, why are they buffing him?" Well, I don't see hitscans speak, we are pretty quiet about changes. From my experience. I think they forget projectiles can also deal with Supports, not only Hitscans. Also... we have damage fall off, you don't. Ashe is stupid, I think she needs a nerf. But I don't cry about any character nor cry that my main man Cassidy is weak. I don't understand where you see us get pandered to because we're whiney? I'm just curious.
Really think it's just the HP changes. Projectiles aren't consistent and are harder to hit. The more hp they add the less proj heroes will be played

Blizzard is punishing skill and rewarding being brain dead. That's why we have braindead heroes like Moira, LW, Hog, Mauga and more all being viable or one of the best picks. Heroes that take insane skill to get half of the value like Genji and Ana are just tossed to the side because Blizzard wants to punish skill. Skill is now irrelevant, FPS now stands for First Person Simulator, and reactivity is stronger than proactivity. Game is garbage.
Ana is actually one of the most absurd characters in the game with 3 ults. She is insanely good, but you just refuse to see that

Out of my 9k hours, 3844 are genji, and i swear db has to be the most useless ultimate in the game. Even with Nano, i have to struggle against immunities in some way. They always have suzu life grip or a brig ults me and i can't move or LW uses Tree and I can't do anything its just never ending. And as I sit here now, i haven't played genji since season 8 in a regular game, and i haven't even played ranked since season 8. I still don't understand what swinging faster does when i do no damage. It's quite literally better to use my normal abilities and shuriken in almost every situation than using my ult. The literal sound of my ult causes kitsune rush and rally.
The majority of recent heroes have tools to escape themselves or help allies with DB.
And genji didn't get anything for this entire time.Maybe because of his fan base which will play him whatever happens to him :/
@BabaYa9a i just can't do it anymore. I love ow and genji is why and I can't even enjoy playing him. I barely play as it is, and im currently waiting for Marvel rivals. There's no fun in my character, being 90% risk for only 10% payoff, and that's if you get 1 kill. (I peaked Masters 3)

I'm still baffled how in ow1 with blade combo and without 2 out of 3 immos we has nano blade one shot, 29 damage per shuriken and EVERYONE were 200 hp. Now in OW2 we have 3 immos, 250 hp across the board, immortal tanks and genji got NERFED? 27 dmg, 110 blade, buggy af pullup and they had audacity to remove flappymaxxin

Imma tell you 2 reasons why support is the most picked role
1: hands-down, the easiest role to play in the game. I would honestly chopped this up to most healer characters being able to self heal or you’re close enough to your other healer in which they can heal you.
2: this is the major one, you can basically play whatever hero you want, and you don’t have to counter swap for the most part. Obviously you should be counters swapping at times, but you don’t necessarily have to. Not nearly as much as tanker or DPS you are literally forced to switch or you will lose very quickly.
Support also has the most one tricks for sure which is sad because of how easy it is and even politely asking them to swap is like asking them to kill their firstborn💀
The Writers seem to hate them too.
They keep taking power away from the Shimada Clan and saying they were small (even though they live in a literal castle), and they give all of the power and influence into Kiriko and HER family instead. Even saying Kiri's mom was the "best swordsman in the world" and "she was the one who taught them how to wall climb" (which seems like such a cop cut).
It's just another tangent to take stuff away from Genji and Hanzo, and to give it all to their self-insert OC Kiriko, who was just forced into lore to make money and cash in on the stupid idea of a Shimada Sister.

If you don't want to go the route of "It's no magic", why not use Psionic abilities as an explanation (like in StarCraft, which are paranormal, psychic abilities that aren't understood by science and are confused with being magic in the StarCraft Universe). Why can't Hanzo and Genji's ability to double jump and control the spiritual dragons just be some kind of psychic ability? It would make them and their clan more dimensional and set them and their more traditional aspect away from all the tech stuff.

Press Q behind a wall so you don’t get one shot while pulling out blade -> Save your dash -> jump on the enemies face -> get Rally, Transc or Beat out -> deflect the entire time so you don’t die -> dash away

I was just talking about a Character like Genji bc Shroud is raging on Deadlock.
Shooting game players hate when there are melee characters or any character that revolves around mechanical skill rather than just aim. They hate that someone like Necros can outplay someone like Shroud with God Aim in a Shooting game.
I remember even in BO3 they nerfed Ripper pretty hard, I mean that was way more broken than Dragon Blade, bc soo many people were complaining.
Anyways, it’s just crazy that Genji gets put in the dirt but Brig gets too still be viable.

Ever since the s9 patch eberything about genji has felt so ass and untrue, before s9 if you landed all your shurikens no headshots you were extremely rewarded with quick and decisive kills, now if you dont land all headshots you just will not overcome the amount of utility everyone has now, from the boops, to the healing, to the invincibility, its just absurd how many walls you have to climb and how passive you have to play to get any value with that hero, and god forbid they buff his damage when so many other heros got significant damage buffs to compensate for the health increase, id even be happy with a 1 damage increase on his shurikens. All of this would be negligible if his ultimate wasnt just the riskiest shit in the game too, i cant remember the last time i got more then a 3k without nanoblade.
Regarding Genji, there have always been a lot of solo queuers with no expectations of coordination or peel, on heroes without mobility/escapes who voiced how unbearably frustrating and oppressive NANOblade has always been.
Their sheer numbers made Blizzard slowly nerf blade to the point where it became balanced on its NANO version. As a result, the naked DRAGONblade feels like a paper straw being swung around. It feels awful to attempt anything with DRAGONblade, but players on the receiving end of NANOblade have finally gone into hibernation.
Now, why doesn't the balance team show any sense of urgency into taking better care of Genji's gameplay loop for its players' sake? After all they defend that it's important for any hero to feel good to play AS as well as AGAINST.
I believe the reason is simply because Genji remains very popular and his winrate seems to be comfortably smack-dab in the middle of its role if not slightly above average, so they put the hero in the back of the breadline since the actual playerbase doesn't seem so bothered to the point of forsaking him.
If I'm right about the above, I honestly think the best option for Genji players to force the hero under the balance team's magnifying glass, is to plummet his pick rate by not playing him in protest and hope that the devs will react by more actively seeking what sort of feedback is being put forth as to what feels wrong with the kit.
The new health pools really screwed these characters the most. Nevermind all the crap that suport characters get to get away with just from existing. When they had 200HP, if you outplayed them, they would usually die anyway. Now they have that extra second to recover, and usually by that point if you're Genji, you've already full commmitted to getting this kill and all your abilities are on cooldown.
So I think we either buff Genji's damage, or revert season 9 (like they've already been doing little by little it seems).
Give genji lifesteal to compensate for his low damage
If Genji had lifesteal I‘d actually win duels. Everytime I go reaper instead of Genji I actually get kills and have fun. But when I play Genji I barely win or the enemy gets away with 1HP
all DPS is just S76 with extra steps 😂
My DPS Mains in OW1 were Genji, Hanzo, and Doomfist. The first 2 were gutted as made clear in this video and the third is now a tank and arguably no longer exists. What is the draw to the game for me now? I guess I also like Echo and she’s been my main in OW2 now, but I miss the old game, hero identities, and 6v6 so so bad.
For Dragonblade I’d:
Revert swing speed
Buff damage back to 120
Change Ana’s nanoboost so that it buffs regular attacks by 50% (as it does currently) but only buffs ultimates by 25%
This allows dry Dragonblade to be useful and have playmaking opportunity, brings back 7 years of Genji muscle memory, and keeps nanoing a useful option but prevents it from making him super OP and “uncounterable.” It’s the best of all worlds IMO.
5:48 but Gengi was simply countered here by the Tree of Life. I am main Soldier and I always try to save my ult to counter an eventual Gengi player on the other team. Gengi and one-shot Hanzo (and a few others) drop on the same bucket as Widow. Fun to who is playing, extremally annoying for who is playing against them. Maybe for top 500's that's not the case, but for 90% of players these are just annoying.
But I strongly agree on the super tanks meta and how annoying it is. For the first time I quit playing since Ive come back to OW2.
Support is the most complained about role in the game. I bet most players believe their loses are due to bad supports. This is not fun for supports. Blizzard as a result, makes giga support to keep "you" alive. Buff dps, we are back to sqare one as dive dps will be destroying supports and their role will become "unfun". My answer: they need to reevaluate "heals" and the support role. Reduce the healing aspect of the role and focus on utility. The all role passive healing was a good start, they should try other ways to deliver heals to the team
This has been an ongoing problem for a long time. Back in ow it was the army of mercy mains on the forums complaining about dying to skillful flanker heroes. At some point blizzard decided this was their support player base and every support change should cater to them.
It sucks cause I have friends who were zen ana mains who wish there were more characters with skillful impact like them. Sadly none of them got to play Juno because they all quit the game
In a hypothetical world where you nuked the immo abilities, nuked Brig, and seriously toned back support ults, would Genji still be weak? What about reverting season 9? I'm wondering if it's less about giving Genji love, and more about taking some love back from the places that oppress him.
Support isnt even a fun role to play rn. The most impact I can have on the role is to counterpick the enemy tank because they have slowly eroded any skill expression in the support role to make impactful plays
Ana is one of my fav heroes and it literally feels impossible to play her when tanks just run at your and shrug off your abilities

genji is the definition of a placebo that has affected OW2's low rank's mindset. He has been hailed as a High skill/High reward hero for so long that even when he is now High skill/ NO reward, he is still held as a "broken hero" by low ranked supports who don't know how to play anyone but mercy.
At this point, its actually more efficient to learn tracer than genji with the way supports are in OW2. She has better kill potential, escape potential, movement, and plays much better into most playstyles than poor genji who is literally hard countered by half of the roster, yet doesn't significantly counter ANYONE.
As a genji main I truly believe that OW2 is just not fun. I cant tell you how boring it is to HAVE to switch Heroes so that i can actually have impact. As a low diamond player playing genji is a joke. I have over 1000 hours into just genji and it makes me truly disappointed that supports never get punished by dps ults.

Tbh it probs from the fact that lower ranked players are very bad against these two and then they'll just complain and the Devs actually listen which is just so dumb especially for genji when the guy has barely ever been good despite being one of the most popular characters in the game. Also because genji is so popular the Devs won't even buff him because they'll just be like look at the usage rates genji is fine the way he is. hopefully the balance team just gets people who can actually do their job.
I would be fine with hanzo if they gave 250 back and gave him his old projectile speed to make him feel less clunky and make his shots matter more since he shoots less now.
How would you feel about blade doing 125 per swing but be unaffected by damage boosts? I think Nano and blue beam are making Blizz afraid of keeping blade good.
I would give Genji a small speed boost and shield while pulling out blade like when Queen screams, also just a bit more damage to the blade itself. The normal kit its Ok, the problem is the amount of immortality teleporting and huge healing.
Saying genji should get a shield while using blade is like saying roadhog should get a tiny laser gun when using whole hog.
Just the fact, that Soldier E has a higher cooldown than Suzu, shows you everything you need to know.
They are definitely trying their best to nerf any stand out DPS so less people will play DPS and they will go to Tank or Support for queue times.

Genji needs more than an ult buff. His base damage sucks and his dash damage is terrible on top of being too long of a cooldown
In my personal opinion the way I would fix Genji’s ult is each time he swings on someone, they receive an Anti heal effect for 0.4 seconds, leaving a 0.3 second window to be healed, I think that would make it so it doesn’t always get out healed, because thats the main issue with it and everyone basically has getaways on short cooldowns
As for Hanzo I think when he shoots his ult, both dragons should go down the center and then slowly spread apart from each other kinda like going diagonal, so what I mean by that is this (scroll down) The lines (“-“ ) represents the dragons

Give it up samito brother. They will never fix the game. They are trying to make the game giga toddler friendly for supp and tank. No room for outplays. Literally ANY play you could dream of making is hard countered by supp abilities. And im not saying they shouldnt, im just saying it shouldnt be as easy as it is for them now. It should take the same amount of skill to make a counterplay as a supp, not just "click button, win". I really miss the old days of Overwatch before Brigitte and the GOATS meta. Back when it was 6v6, and the game actually required skill to play. Now it feels like they've nerfed characters like Hanzo and others that used to take real skill to master.

Support *players* are not to blame for any of this - Blizzard took these decisions. Players from every role kick up a fuss. Blizzard does what Blizzard wants. DPS queues are currently two to three times longer than support. Blizzard don’t care about top-500 queue times much, and rightly so. Blizzard see the numbers and conclude, “our problem is still tanks and support”. It’s probably true that Shimadas got ruined at high-level, but for almost everyone in the game it’s not so clear-cut.
Because they are unfun to play against, when Ashe/Soldier/Tracer/Etc are doing well it's fine but when a Genji/Hanzo/Widow does well it's oppressive and there's not much counterplay.
Two of the most used smurf hero's in the game. Make it 100% bannable for anyone playing on smurf accounts. Make it 100% against TOS for any content creator to create unranked to GM videos and kick out those content creators from the creator program that create those videos. THEN you can buff these heroes but not until then. If players can be FORCED to play at their rank all the time I have no problems with this.
That is an overreaction. Smurfs aren't like the worst. If I see a smurf I just say "damn, he is good" and makes you want to strive to improve. And I don't think people who do unranked to gm even get placed in plat or below. I bet you are the type of person who says that they are stuck in gold because of the damn smurfs.

Smurfs can make what would be a fun game, into a horrible shitty game. I report EVERY smurf I see in my games and hope they get banned. GM/Top 500 players need to play at their rank and stay the F**k out of my games. DPS heroes plus ball and doom makeup 99% of smurfs. I play comp do get fair fun games with people with the same skill as myself. NOT for some asshole to cheese the system to stomp lower skill players. Even if the smurf is on my team it does not matter. It feels too easy than.

Blade is not just bad because of its low damage, it's also getting hurt by mobility creep. Plenty of heroes (especially supports) have abilities that allow them to easily kite out blade for the full 6 seconds. Even restoring the original 8 second duration from OW1 launch probably wouldn't be enough to make it OP
DPS has just changed as a role from OW1 to OW2. DPS players just need to get used to that reality. I get that it sucks when your favorite character is steadily micro-nerfed or just out right nerfed every season. The run around and kill helpless backline playstyle from OW1 just doesn't work, you need to be smarter and often sacrifice making that cool tik tok clip play for playing what your team needs you to play. Tanks and Supports are used to this idea of team before self, a lot of newer DPS players are used to this idea too. The old-heads and uncs just need to adapt. Don't worry though I think you guys have bitched enough that Blizzard is gonna revert the game to 6v6 so you can just run around again.
i think one shots have no place in a game like overwatch. call of duty sure, not overwatch. the counterplay to a one shot is what, hide behind walls and play super carefully, don't take risks, don't make plays??? shit is so fucking boring when there is a widow in the lobby. so unless they rework hanzo to make him good without a one shot, i prefer him in the gutter balance wise, and i hope they do the same to widow. any 'sniper' archetypes moving forward should resemble ashe. the genji situation is just sad though, hes probably the most iconic character in the game and he has just been neglected by the devs for no apparent reason.

I don't understand why ow players having a problem with understanding Blizzrrd goal here.
They wanted this to be for casuals because in their mind casuals will buy stuff.
So to do that nerf any characters that actually require skill and buff every move that cheese and require no skill.

I usually joke with friends that I dont play overwatch, I play Genji. Its a fantastically fun hero. Even with all the frustration that come with facing LW, Moiras abd even Ilaris. But when they neefed DB to the point it is trash it became too much 😢

Brig getting the bash reset buff was so unnecessary. I had a really high win rate on her BEFORE that buff. Moira getting a damage buff but leaving genji at 110 per swipe is mental
idea to make genji somewhat good: shurikens dmg 27 -> 30, immune to projectiles/reduced damage from the front while dashing (i.e. he's cutting through the bullets), blade 130dmg per swing, give his melee zen treatment (2x the dmg or maybe wounds like queens axe with reduced dmg than axe, its a fucking sword in the end) and maybe make him 225hp so that bronze players won't cry "ohh, i have to hit headshot nade melee as cree to kill him, how am i supposed to do that when i don't have even fully formed hands, no thumbs or fingers, just palm". Getting 2 of these changes would make him pretty viable, not hoping for miracle of all of them
I'd like to pin genjis problems to supports again becoming so difficult to take down, Ana kept her 250hp, bionade as powerful as ever, and sleep dart being a death sentence to genji, and nanoboost preventing any pick he tries.

Played ow1 since 2017 and juggled heroes before finding my place in Genji, ever since season 3 I was Genji all the way through to the end of OW1 and the beginning of OW2 before eventually quitting the game all together after 2k hours (ow1 primarily).
Recently got back into the game and tried to play Genji only to find out how absolutely useless he is. In my eyes he was the only character i found challenging and legitimately fun so going from a diehard Genji player to being forced off him makes me sad.
Blizzard needs to do better.
