We were lied to.
Gaslit.
Bamboozled.
For shame, not a one-trick.
Straight up 💀
To be fair they did say the other dps was straight up throwing slurs at them for playing Tracer, so maybe the swap was just in response to that.
i am a tracer one trick, proceeds to walk out of spawn on bastion
Nah it was a rework
they were NOT a tracer one trick 😭
They deadass watched this game and thought “let me send this to emong cuz my teammates are overreacting I played great”
Lower ranked players (myself included) don't have the awareness to grasp everything that happens during a fight. When I watch my Doom replays where I totally dominated, I see that my DPS got critical elims that enabled me to make a decent play and my healers poured every resource into me to keep me alive.
@@downscope3133 I understand not being able to see intricate tech moves and details a GM player would see. But this guy was literally just twiddling his thumbs till 3 people died and was like fuck it imma pulsebomb… LIKE WHAT???!
Bro was playing like a bronze, died like 20 times in the first round, fed more often than getting elems. I see why he got notified about being on every aviod list
What the difference
@@lostxnxyou true
I have always been a one trick and have not gotten this notification once
@@commentbot9510 I got it once (one trick moira)
@@commentbot9510 lmao cause you not playing bad to be on everybody's avoid list
The bigger bamboozle is that they are somehow plat 5
I always have a hard time watching these, as a silver/gold player, because I ALWAYS think to myself....'surely I'm way better than this??'
@@AntonyGreenman No, no you are not
@@Niwan8 I mean, that's usually what I conclude..
@@AntonyGreenman ahh okay, i thought you were one of those people that say they should be higher ranked
@AntonyGreenman this tracer looks like they don't belong in their rank, you're probably as good if not better in a lot of aspects if you realise their mistakes
no wonder they’re on so many avoid lists, they’re feeding and throwing 😭
surprized they even won that game
You all feed and throw don’t act like you’re any different
I didnt even know you could get a noti for being avoided lol
Yeah it just says something like "enough people avoided you that your queue times might get longer".
I saw it happen to a streamer when I first got into overwatch it blew my mind 😂😂
The idea is to get you to shape up and stop sabotaging. Same idea as getting a noti if you're frequently reported for toxicity.
Yeah, it's rare, but it can happen. You almost have to be throwing on purpose or just be genuinely dog water at the game consistently.
@@NightBlade117 i forced rein at the beginning of the season (he was dogshit metawise). thats when i got that message. i wasnt throwing or being toxic, i barely type anything. Went out with a 50/50 in the long run. Poeple were just mad because i play a non optimal heroe in a way they dont understand. They just thought: "this rein is doing dumb stuff i cant follow, better put him on avoid." but whenever i was winning doing that "dumb stuff" everyone loved and endorsed me.
That mercy rez to pharah was craaaaazy
Plays bastion like tracer.
Plays tracer like rainbow six vegas
13:38 sees a widow, immediately presses all the buttons and dies.
I think the big miss here (coming from a Tracer player and coach), is that most of the reactions this player has, are perfectly reasonable. Not desirable, but reasonable.
Yes, like at 14:33 it's perfectly reasonable to recall out of a position if there's a Widow staring you straight in the face and you got no cover to quickly hide behind -especially when that Widow literally just killed you in the exact same spot moments earlier.
The real issue is not the reactions of this player, rather it's the decision-making leading up to why they keep finding themselves in unfavorable situations that demand undesired but necessary reactions, leading to them blowing cooldowns constantly without consistently getting value in return for it.
The one main thing Emongg highlights that is most important, is that Tracer's core value comes from distraction, not direct elims. So with this in mind, what plays you seek to make will define what space on the map you favor to operate in, and how you disposition your resources.
In a ranged poke matchup like this, large open space is your enemy, so first of all you shouldn't try to blow all your resources navigating the longest uninterrupted distances, unless you know you can set up and have time to safely recoup those resources again before you press an angle.
Likewise you ideally shouldn't set up to engage from angles, that have a range disadvantage where the enemy is allowed to make plays, before you can make plays. It's why Widow can be so tough to play against, because not only does she have a one-hit kill potential. She also demands that you play in positions that may not be ideal, simply because you need to be sure that you at the very least can provide value at the same time as your team mates are at risk of having to face the enemy Widow's threat value.
This is where soft flanks that can be turned into deep flanks, become more important -because you need the option to quickly deepen a flank if there is a sudden need for you to generate value (this is always based on timing with when your team is taking pressure, you want to alleviate as much enemy pressure on them as possible and you can't do that by hiding and waiting for an opportune moment from a perfect angle).
Especially in ranks where team mates don't always understand they shouldn't engage in a long range poke battle with a Widow on the opposing team, it's that more crucial that you understand the core of your value is to obtain flanks that allow you to take angles on the people that are the highest threat to your team -rather than taking angles on the targets that are most convenient to you (exception being if you have an ally Widow who is mechanically superior to the enemy Widow, then you have some leeway with your own angles and greed you can allow).
*So what this player should focus on, is:*
1. Assess who is the biggest threat to your team in general, and try to your best ability to assist in pressuring this target -and this may mean you will have to compromise on your very safe angles, in order to go for higher risk/reward flanks where you're more distanced from your team.
2. If there isn't a single major threat (like a Widow), then it's fine to be more greedy with your own flanks and angles and just hold space that you know you can be effective from, and that the enemy has a hard time pushing you out of. But ONLY if point number 1 isn't valid.
3. Acknowledge quickly if an engage on an enemy isn't realistic. Often you end up trying to force a duel straight on, either because you're out of resources, or because the map in that situation only lends itself to a straight frontal attack. In any case, this gives the enemy the upper hand and you never want that as any hero, but least of all as Tracer due to how squishy you are. So if you can't realistically take a fight in a favorable way, then don't force it. Elims are not your core value, harassment is. So if you can't engage safely from an off angle, don't try to force the fight. Wait it out, find a more creative way around going straight at their face, and try to not position yourself between multiple opponents at a time.
Last note, just as a general mantra for Tracer. Fight for your space and angles, not for eliminations. Get the favorable space, take the fights that are available to you. And if you keep missing the target you actually wanna harass most, then change up the space you prioritize in the future, don't try to cheat your way to it by blowing your resources to get to that spot after you already committed to one location.
^
props to you for practically writing a whole essay 🫡 very in depth explanation
chill
To be honest, you addressed all the problems I was having on that map......I have a hard time playing into a good poke. Especially when it comes to setup & engagement timing, brawl & dives have a clear time to go moment but poke doesn't.
Nice explanation
Did anyone else notice that the Tracer’s guns were jade before the switch to Bastion, but then regular when they switched back to Tracer? Is that a visual bug?
Technically? It happens all the time with my gold guns i think it's just a bug from swapping to someone you don't have the colour for. Swapping off and back usually works for me to get it back
@@luciferwasanangl4506pretty weird, I’ve never seen that before or at least noticed it. It looks like they turned back jade at 10:45
I believe it’s a bug in replays. I’ve gotten in a few times before when reviewing vods. I was also coincidentally playing tracer with jade on as well when it happened to me.
Happens to me on Ana constantly usually it fixes if you swap off and back on again.
Yea it’s a bug
In the spawn room, born and raised
On the payload is where I should spend most of my days
Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool
And all blinking around, just actin' the fool
When a couple of Tanks who were up to no good
Started making trouble in the neighborhood
I missed one little pulse bomb and my team got scared
They said, "You're movin' like you're just here to take air"
This is gonna sound unbelievable. But I actually learned to play tracer a bit better from Jay3. He only blinks/recalls when he needs to and it helped me be mindful of it. You don’t need to use your cooldowns if they’re not actively shooting at you
Dunno man pretty believable
Did you learn the legendary jay3 pulse from him as well?
@@Underhel I miss all of mine already I didn’t need his help for that
Funny how not using your cooldown when you don't need to is obvious for most heroes. I don't put healing down as soldier when i am full. I don't use dva matrix when nothing shoots. I don't go turret mode with bastion, don't genji deflect, etc.
So the question is what makes people feel they need to use cooldown as tracer? Maybe when you play against a good tracer she blinks all around you and it's super annoying and you don't hit her, and you try to imitate this but there's actually more to it when and where to blink. Just thinking loudly here.
@@Wulfereene I think it’s how fragile she is with the low hp. When I first started trying her out I’d panic if someone even looked at me
If you're getting constantly avoided you are not playing right. Dude was in his teams backpack and poked out occasionally, only contributed to a handful of team fights, and was barely a nuisance.
Tips from a ball Lucio pharah otp (different heroes but was more harassment potential):
1. Minimize downtime. Learn fast flank routes and ways to get to the enemy without them noticing. Sometimes that means crouch walk but often a little timing and aggression makes the difference.
2. Learn when being a gnat will be useful. Making widow or Kiri turn for you only matters when the team is looking to start a fight. If it screws up their timings or takes someone away from their job, good. If it's between fights or y'all are losing the fight change gears to stalling or escaping. Slow cart progression without being staggered or get into a position to engage next fight.
3. Be actually threatening. Going in for half a second isn't gonna do anything. Multiple quick dives on a singular target or one longer dive will be more successful
4. Survive better. Learn health packs and the reach of your team. Going behind the enemy with supports who can't heal that far means you need to heal yourself so play around that. Also try to isolate a target or two. When you peak their spawn either wait until everyone is out or bait one person into leaving their team for you.
If you don't know how to make the enemy constantly turn then maybe it's time to get a second character cause while it may still work in lower tiers than you should be in, being able to swap to an entirely new play style is super important until you get God tier
The way he recalls as soon as someone sees him, i just know he gets jump scared every game😂
5:05 point blank....
Yup going on the avoid list
😭😭
👁️👄👁️
I understand why he is avoided a lot. I'd like to see that note game gives him :D
Bro straight up id like to just avoid him now before I ever see him 😂
near 2:15 When anyone dies in the air, if you click on their soul to rez as mercy as it falls it will pause and you can rez the soul midair, it was falling in that direction due to Pharah flying backwards as she died
That new Mercy buff for relocating Res location is crazy
I love the playmaking advice. In MOBAs we talk a lot about limit testing and it seems to be frowned upon in overwatch. I understand trying to survive on OT it’s important as respawn timers are longer but I still believe it should be more encouraged specially on dps since that’s the one role that relies on the pressure and securing Elims to create space.
Why is he trying to play bastion like tracer 😭😭😂😂
*Switches to bastion*
“What happened to being a one trick tracer”😭🤣😭
Compared to other plats we’ve seen here recently, this is just pain. Being a Doom-Tracer-Zen 3-trick(?) makes it evil.
0:53 so true 😂
their usage of blink gave me whiplash
10:14 peak hanzo gameplay
I've had a similar thing happen with the rez when I was on kiriko. I tped my soul to the mercy and it was so funny watching the replay later cos she was so confused
That mercy rez on that pharah can go and be deleted from the game wtf was that
Souls should not have a "tech"
I’d imagine that’s hard asf to code. Since the Pharah used it as they died the animation still went though. Tough Situation
@@alextheballer27 hard asf to code? Just dont give the "corpse" momentum
@@jvliaaaaan oh yeah, that’s as simple as flicking a switch. It’s having to stop a players movement in an instant. It’s not easy to do
@@alextheballer27 speed = 0;
I do programming, it is that easy.
Also you just dont transfer the speed to the corpse. It is THAT simple
@@jvliaaaaan it isn’t that easy. Especially after they nuke the entire damn team
The most important (other than her mechanics) thing you have to learn with tracer is that confidence is key.
I don’t blame the people that avoid him, id do the same damn thing. What the hell did I just watch😭😭
I am a tracer player and I can say that a lot of us do the crouch thing to sneak up, so that flanking isn’t loud and they don’t get alerted by our footsteps
Mostly only when it’s a character like, ana, some squishies or widow and Ashe
im thinking they might so jittery with the recall because of the enemy team having both a hanzo and a widow which can be instant shut downs if you're in bad position which would make that "if they shoot one shot at you, you recall" may be true since yk one shots all it takes to die
Glad to see it man
>tracer onetrick
>immediately swaps to bastion
Helpa;l'jf, I didn't know you get a notification when you're frequently avoided 😭😭
I literally got him yesterday as an enemy support and he played moira without healing anyone
Is it a replay bug or why does tracer have jade weapon skin at the start, and after she swaps to bastion, then back to tracer not?
It happens in game for me too sometimes. I've only noticed it on Ana's gold gun but it usually fixes if I swap off and back to Ana.
wow i love this tracer one trick 😍😍
Avoided so much you got a notification is wild
So for the rez thing it’s also a MASSIVE MASSIVE problem with genji where you can hear or even see yourself using an ability but will die because the enemy doesn’t.
I’m not sure if it’s just high ping or high latency cause of bad pc or what
them always having only one blink is driving me nuts
Bro locked in the end tho
I’m halfway thru the vid ill let you know my opinion
Doin a whole lot of nothing 😂
17:25 is a perfect embodiment of how this guy plays. That Kiriko was way more agressive than that tracer. A support character. This guy plays extremely scared. Sometimes you gotta go face to face and straight up scrap.
They definitely are scared of making plays, especially when sneaking around and stuff. So many times they try to peek around corners and just empty the entire clip into the wall instead of calming down and aiming just a little further around the corner.
DeadxBoy and Mangekyo are definetly Sabian and Lochie from alpha wolf
How do you submit videos? I had a 50 kill tank game I lost and got flames/reported for “throwing” and I need to know if I’m the issue
There's a channel for submissions on his discord, make sure to read the pins
Pulsing the Hog... Yeah, that goes the other way round :)
how did the gun stop being emerald mid way through the first round
Im scared to ask how many hours they have on Tracer, also them using blink as if its a sprint button is pissing me off 😭
Dude, that Zarya skin is WILD. Can barely recognize her.
A problem with low ranked tracer players is that they refuse to learn and use health packs to their advantage
I don't think anyone pointed out that the tracer was doing the melee then immediately recalling. You can hear the tracer melee right when they recall This tech is strong but it shouldn't be used a lot.
I feel lied to
Tracer got a major rework halfway through the game
Tracer got many teworks during this match
This gameplay + backstory feels like it should be a flats video not an emongg one
10:46
Emongg: isn’t it great?
Kiriko: *3 seconds later* No
wish you showed the ana sleep dart pov
The game give u notification when a lot of player avoided u??? I wonder how it looks like or what it says.. didn't know that's a thing
Okay firstly emongg are you high the name mix ups were crazy second wtf did I just watch no wonder they’re avoided they’re afk half the game 😭🙏👍
Just needs to try and use his blinks to try and escape instead of just using E ,Should never be engaging in a risky situation or 1v1 without E Target priority is good, and positioning to engage is good
How do i submit for a game of mine to be reviewed? just for fun.
honestly they should try out sombra
my eyes hurt
Anyone else notice when they switched back to tracer at 6:00 they didnt have emerald guns anymore?
Must have been a replay bug because they got it back later on in the video
How do we get you to watch our replays?
Recently started playing again, high Masters tank player in OW1, peaked Dia in very limited playing in OW2. I'm like Diamond 2 on tank and support and Plat 2-3 on DPS. Why can't I get into more games against players like this so I can climb easier? lmao
This is the type of player we meme'd about in OW1 the classic Plat player who literally doesn't know how to play the game. In my DPS games it seems I'll either get GM smurfs boosting mercy mains or hard throwers with no in between lol
Rank rework really messed with a lot of ranks. In mid/low diamond in each class, but will regularly see past masters and even gm role players in my lobbies. You can definitely see their better game sense, and diamond is such a toss up rn of good individual players, and good team players.
Classic tracer two trick
bots faster then the viewers
No shit. Thats a fact
I didn't knew that was a notification for being put in so many avoid list. I put only people that talk shit on chat and no relatable to the game 😅.. or criminal
I feel scammed by that pseudo one trick 😠
Does anyone have advice to be less toxic even when in comp. I try my best to not be rude or toxic. I try to treat it like a game but when my teammates start smack talking I tend to get upset as well and say crap back. Any tips for enjoying this game lol
Turn off all coms
just mute people when they start to get mad. it's not your job to deal with people throwing a tantrum over a game, and throwing a tantrum yourself isn't going to accomplish anything. being toxic won't make you play better, and responding in an angry way isn't going to make anyone else play better.
the key to not being toxic is not giving yourself the opportunity to be tempted to be toxic, at least at first. once you learn to control your reactions better, there's a little more leeway, but at first, if you really do want to stop being toxic, just don't give yourself the opportunity. mute, report, block, and move on.
1:22 what is that zarya skin?!?!
Old owl skin that never got brought back because of controversy. It’s called alien I’m pretty sure
This Tracer player should play Sombra....
doesnt look like tracer one trick if they spent most of the time dumping damage into armored tanks despite doing 50% less damage, recall full hp, crouch sneaking like its mgs, and not using blinks
spending too much time crawling around map and closing no distance
peak
isn’t dealing with widow the responsibility of a tracer?
2:38
When you die, you have an invisible "corpse" that continues moving with the momentum you had, while your visible corpse is actually a soft body which moves differently. When you rez, you rez the invisible corpse, which can get itself stuck on roofs and such. If you were watching that Pharah's post-death cam (only visible in the actual game, since on spectating you just switch povs when they die), you'd see their camera follow to where the Mercy rezzed
Reasonable physics, since souls famously have momentum.
Looking like plastic 15 on bastion omg💀
I too love one tricking tracer except when I swap to junkrat, widow, hanzo, ana, ball, queen and weaver
ALRIGHT SO!
Today's video were watching
for the pharah res-- the soul had upward momentum from the jets and floated a projectile path onto that ledge
Reasonable physics, since souls famously have momentum.
So that last 20 seconds of the game?…to sum it up, play like that literally all game.
How is this PC plat? It (the Tracer anyway) looked like console bronze. This player isn't being avoided because of the one tricking lol. The only thing they had going for them was that their aim was mostly good. That was some shocking gameplay.
I am more of a widow one trick than this guy is a tracer one trick. ;-; (i can play almost the entire roster)
This is the worst type of player that you can find in your ranked games. This “tracer one trick” was carried, and would go up against enemies who had absolutely no idea how to play the game. The WORST combination, which gives this guy a major rank inflation. The worst type of team mate to have in your match.
Tracer OTP Peak Master 5 here, is there someone to coach me?
Day 1 of asking emongg to teach me how to play wrecking ball…
how is this dude not bronze?
That Mercy res at the beginning was literal insanity
This is how I play Tracer... Which is why I don't play her. 😅
Is this like a region thing? The tracers in plat are way better than this on west coast
Plat players are either solid players or braindead like this one. The bad players will keep the solid ones down, and the solid ones will be boosting players like this.
@@nursestan7788realest comment I’ve read
Im a support main, although I do like the speedy/long ranged dps so seeing such bad recalls is painful and I don't even main DPS lol. Although I think I'd hold my recalls too long.
This guy really needs to stop wide-peeking. Also jumping vs widow. Also dueling enemy tank
them stealing ml7's name is the craziest thing abt this
Anyone else notice that tracer started with jade weopons than ended up with default after she swapped off bastion back to tracer
I avoid all tracer players this one ain’t special 👹
