Yes the truckers hold their brakes while the paver pushes them. In my experience I have only paved out two live dumps (the ones you see in this video) and the majority are end dumps where you have to be extra careful if you put the truck bed up too high and the trucker doesn’t use enough brakes they will roll away from the paver causing a dump in front of the paver. It’s not fun shovelling in front of the track on a hot day in the city.
