Even though I do not own any of your bags or shoes I was very impressed with all of your thoughts on how to take care of them. That's very impressive. You're absolutely correct. Your bags and shoes are quite expensive indeed you should maintain each of them. Great idea. Well done.
Some of these are great tips for non luxury goods too! I always think an immaculately cared for midrange or vintage bag or pair of shoes can outshine an ill cared for luxury item any day. You always make such great content!
The steaming trick was really neat, now to get myself a steamer! I usually stuff with a soft shawl instead of clothing, and I always put a disposable dehumidifier near my bags since I live in a very humid climate.
Yes, humidity and plastic inserted in bags to help hold their shape is a disaster waiting to happen. The leather will peel, even in high end luxury bags! I learned the hard way, but thankfully my bag was replaced at no cost. Can cause mold growth as well.
Wow these were so useful!!!!!!! Usually i am a tad skeptical of "hacks" videos, but each recommendation was so smart! Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Love your tips, and the suede boots under the faucet was amazing! The only thing I would caution is using towels or clothes to stuff inside of bags. They have the ability to absorb moisture and can lead to musty smells in the bag. Reusing air pillows and bubble wrap are the best and safest things to use for sure!
What an amazingly useful and well-structured video, Amy! Thank you so much for the advice! I'd definitely take advantage of it all, especially the hack for preventing colour transfer from denim to leather! Lots of love and support! Xx
Thank you so much for your advice on how to steam a bag! I just steamed my Chanel bag and it worked! It pretty much restored it to its original shape at the corners, looks so good 😊
These r such good tips. I have a pair of camel coloured rag&bone booties that I literally watch the weather report in order to decide if I should wear them. I thought about scotch guarding them, but always thought they would be discoloured. Glad to know there shouldn't be any effects. I always wondered how u kept the light coloured bags free of any colour transfer, so happy u shared your tips!
LOVED IT!! Never seen anyone on you-tube do these type of tips.. when you invest in these items it's a given that we must care for them for longevity and re-sale purposes- very smart and wise you are!!
These will be so useful for when I finally get a luxury piece! I love your tip about the jeans because I have a beige longchamp that I could never wear with my favourite pair of jeans but now I can! I love what you did with your closet! So clever!
Really great tips, Amie. Like you I live in a city where winter means wet, really really wet, so I have avoided buying shoes that can't take water immersion. It never occurred to me to use Scotchguard. I have it on my furniture and it's fantastic but I never thought to spray it on shoes. Dah! I will have to try it. I have very limited storage space so I solved the packaging problem by buying a huge, sturdy, pre-loved Hermes box from ebay and I store all the small boxes from SLGs or jewellery in that. It's so sturdy that I can keep it on the bottom of my wardrobe and stack other boxes on top of it without damaging it.
Congrats on the new job! One tip about putting your leather bag in a shopper title type bag - if it's a bright color it might bleed with the rain! (white leathe bag in that hot pink tote) 😬 i learned the hard way. thanks for all the tips!
Great tips! I have one other one that I've used. I have a light beige caviar Chanel flap that gets color transfer all the time. I use a pencil eraser and it mostly comes out. I probably wouldn't try it on a more supple leather but it seems to work on the caviar.
I have been searching for this video!! I watched it quite some time ago but I couldn't remember the name of the spray or the name of the video...sigh. Thanks for linking this video!! Life saver!!
Hey Amie, can you please make a video on how to care for Chanel bags for beginners? I just got my first Chanel classic flap! And I feel like you were with me along the way, I watched all of your videos, and I love them. It helps me tremendously in term of researching and deciding on my first investment piece! I am a bit scared to use it at the moment because I'm not sure how to properly care for it. Looking forward to receiving your help and tips! Thanks so much for making such insightful videos!
Thank you for these amazing tips. They are very useful. I was wondering if you think the steaming method would work on caviar leather. I recently purchased the mini in the iridescent rose gold like your new small classic flap. There is a slight crease on the flap near the opening. Thank you!
.. Also this was such an incredibly helpful video, I have a few creases in my flap bag and never knew how to get them out as it's such a supple material! Xxx
Such an incredible informative video !!!wish I knew about the colour transfer tips earlier, I've damaged some shoes n bags with my jeans :( as for stuffing clothes in bags hahahaha I thought i was the only one who done that haha. Completely love this video !! Thank you !!xx
Amy, great instructions and demos. Can you suggest a dye for my Louis Vuitton vachetta bag. I want to change the vachetta leather color from natural to black. Thanks in advance.
Hi Amie, great tips! Especially the steamer. On your shoe collection , what are the two rose orblush colored shoes? The heels and wedges? They are lovely, have been looking everywhere for those types!
Hi Amie, I was wondering if you could do another updated video on this for 2020 or let me know if these are still the same steps you use now. I bough the Bottega Veneta cassette in black but I truly wanted it in the off white color but was too scared of color transfer. Looking forward to your reply, thanks!
Hi! Great video! I have a question. I just purchased the Chanel suede espadrilles with pearls. They are so beautiful and I want to protect them with Scotchgard but I'm afraid the spray might damage the pearls. Do you have any tips on how to prevent anything from happening? Thanks!

Absolutely, I totally agree! :)
Op
some great ideas !
For stuffing your totes, you could put all that bubble wrap into the bag's own dust bag then put that in the tote.
Love this idea!
Sarah Pasquier great one. It will look neater as well
Love lolo sells pilos which keep the shape of bags which is cleaner and nice than just bubble wrap or tissue paper x
That's exactly what I do. Great tip.
I almost died when u ran water all over your suede boot! 😂😂 but it survived!
Wow these are all amazing tips Amie! And I love how u take such good care of your luxury items. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😘
Yay I'm glad you liked it! :D
Fab video Amie... for tip 9 be sure to add a packet of silca gel to stop moisture inside the bags 😊
Definitely doing the dust bag thing!
Great tip on steaming leather bags. 👍 I would have never dared to do that before!
The steaming trick was really neat, now to get myself a steamer! I usually stuff with a soft shawl instead of clothing, and I always put a disposable dehumidifier near my bags since I live in a very humid climate.
