    Thanks for this video. I’m motivated especially right now that the weather is nice in AZ.

    Thanks for a great video. It's just what I needed, and very instructive. It' just perfect for me, as the old Yamaha G2 we bought for my wife's "run-around-the property-cart", so like yours, it doesn't have to be perfect. THANK YOU, THANK YOU. It's early April here in central Arizona, then temps are just starting to hit the 60's-70's, so perfect time for me to get 'er done! Thanks again

      Yes, you can cut and buff the finish to show quality. Just put enough paint on so you can sand some off.

    Looks awesome! We’re painting a friends cart too… Did you clear coat it after you painted it? Just wondering? Thanks!

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      I did not.... I have cleared other projects, and it will add depth and gloss and look great, but repairing and repainting becomes a bigger job. Good luck with yours.

    I didn't notice a clear coat or a final buff for orange peel. When would you recommend a clear coat and a final buff for orange peel?

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      I have videos in a Playlist for a 1988 clubcar golf cart where I did cut and buff this same paint. This cart came out so nice, I did not buff it. I sold this cart in August for $5k. Rustolium makes a clear coat but is not carried locally but can get it on line. I did paint a Honda Reflex also on my channel with Rustolium spray cans and did clear coat it looks awesome!

    From red to red that was a bit unclematic.... But still a good video to know how to paint it.

    I'm doing a golf cart too. Was wondering if you needed a clear top coat, and if so. High gloss oil base?

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      It's really up to you. Rustolium is a single stage paint, and will last for many years without a clear. They sell a clear and it will look better and last longer with it. If you scratch it, you would be able to spot paint it without clear, with clear you would have to repaint the panel for best results. Good luck!

      The under side of this cart was excellent, nothing like the top side.. thankfully... We used it on our trip, performed flawlessly, went into the pit area before and after each race, around camp, drove it to town twice, we had power one night so it only got charged one night the whole 10 day trip.

    I know next to nothing about painting. What kind of inexpensive paint gun would you recommend? Also I have a Rigid twin tank contractor compressor. Would that be sufficient to use? Thanks.

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      So I have a collection of vintage Binks and Devilvis Spray guns and it's all I have used. Harbor Freight sells HVLP Guns... High Volume Low Pressure. There cheapest one, Purple, I think is like 15 bucks, and I have heard nothing but good from everyone about it. I, too, have a twin tank for taking with me and I used it to paint the backup generator at work many years ago, and it was fine. just don't be in a hurry. It will run warm so you will need a good water separator.

    2 cans of paint cost me $20, not counting DA pads, sandpaper, cleaning supplies, paper, masking tape and about a dozen other things. may as well say 20 cent spray job if you're going to mislead people.

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      You can paint 2 golf carts with 1 quart of paint, about 15 Bucks for a quart, use about 8 dollars worth...

    Did you go through the entire qt? I'm asking as I'm about to paint a txt and want to do the top and bottom of the roof as well and wondering if a qt will do the entire cart with roof.

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      I think I used a bit over half a quart, but I recommend having an additional quart on hand just in case. Keep the receipt and return it if you don't end up needing it.

    If the golf cart has a plastic roof, is it painted the same way as the body or is there a different process?

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      The body was factory red coated plastic, not really paint. It had been rattlel can painted previously. The roof is a softer plastic and the same color all the way through the plastic. I have seen people paint roofs, it takes a bit of prep to pull that off.

    Why the gloves? And nothing for the sanding dust?

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      You might see many youtubers that skip the mask while filming as it muffels the voice and makes for poor audio. Your point is well taken, a mask should be worn when sanding.

    • @GlennsSpeedShop

      Shoot for 360 grit, then primer, then 600 grit before paint. Good Luck.

    What is the ratio of acetone to full quart of rustoleum?Thanks God Bless!

    • @GlennsSpeedShop
      @GlennsSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Around 10%. In my video I talk about how many seconds it takes when you pull the stir stick out and the stream of paint starts to drip. 6 to 7 seconds. Rewatch that part of the video.

    • @GlennsSpeedShop
      @GlennsSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, but Rustolium makes a clear, and you can. Touchups are way easier without a clear coat and still looks great. I just sold that golf cart for $5k.
