I have a Jackson Audio Golden boy. I like the idea of having different gain stages available in one pedal. However it’s also important to me not to go from super quiet to super loud, and I felt like the gain stage function on the Golden boy boosted my volume too much. I‘m not into MIDI, but I’m here for the presets. Thinking about getting a Lion. I’ve always done the transparent thing and want to do something different.
It's so good...there is a stepping that happens in the sweep of the knobs. So it's not a smooth ramp. But going from preset to preset, you can set whatever you want

I was getting ready to buy one of these until I heard the knobs were not smooth sweep. Don't like that one bit. Oh, well...
Your sign off could be maybe something in reference to “call time” or “run through” or something to that effect. Might have to be cautious to avoid being too cheesy haha
The Lion sounds more “amp-like” to my ear. They both sound good! The Lamb sounds like a pedal in front of an amp where the Lion sounds like you are turning the gain up on an actual amp.
I really like the LION better if I had to pick only one...I feel like what you said is true and it covers more ground...if someone reading this wants to check out what we're talking about here's the link: jetpedals.com/discount/HEYWORSHIPLEADER?ref=19
Have the POD Go but am seriously considering building a pedal board so I can mess around with different pedals. Tossing around the idea of an HX Stomp so I can still have the amps and IRs. What made you choose the HX Stomp?
I'm not Jimmy, but I've owned them all and I think the Stomp is the perfect mix of all the strengths of Helix. Tiny, very powerful, fully routable signal chain (unlike how limited PodGo is), powerful midi control, high quality audio interface for recording...it's just incredible! I've run big pedal boards with the Stomp and even just standalone with a dual aux switch, and it's amazing in all scenarios.
Ok before listening to the pedals, I think I would use the lamb to match with my white hx stomp. (Edit: well, the Lion sounds way better. It's a shame because I like the sound of a timmy pedal but I like these pedals because it called lion and the lamb) (Edit: just realized that these pedals are worth 300 plus dollars, nvm I'll stick with my nobles and mxr timmy)
Both sound amazing! I want them. Stop making videos that make me want to buy things ( just kidding. Your videos are great). I probably would lean towards the lamb. I love blues breakers and lead worship and it sounds perfect for that.
OnSong for one. Having midi controlled analog drives like this give you the ability to build your own tones up right on the pedal then store and recall em. My biggest concern any time I'm travelling with my stomp is that I have all my eggs in one basket. Sticking these out on front, if I ever had a problem or the stomp tanked I'd still get through just fine.
@@AlecBourneMidiMadScientist Thanks Alec. My pedalboard rarely goes anywhere, but I can see how keeping those settings and using a pedal to recall them would be nice. I'm playing around with a PlethoraX5 right now that should hopefully give me a similar set up as a stomp, while letting me use my favorite drive pedals
@@Glorybound1313 oh cool! I'm an absolutely mad fan of the X5. Join our Facebook group for it. I push all these pedals with midi controllers wirelessly. For me the idea is ok maybe 1 old analog pedal or 2. But then go wireless and move around your house. I'm setting up my helix upstairs and running it out on the porch through wireless headphones.
Sorry...jsut now seeing this...but having midi functionality whether you have a Stomp or not opens up so much. being able to pull presets and make changes with the press of a button is great!
I think the Stomp sounds great with both honestly. The Tee-Mah (Timmy) seems to be my go-to for overdrive. And I've used the new RAT some...but I'm not much of a distortion person.

Being more a lead player I am loving the Lion. Those are warm tones.
Nice! I love the Lion
They both sound awesome! Too hard to decide. Right now all I can afford is the Play-doh…
haha...I get that!
I have been contemplating swapping my JHS morning glory and moonshine for the Lion and the Lamb partly just for the midi functionality.
They are really good
Yeah me too
How did it go?

I knew that'd be a deal breaker for some

I love the power in the Stomp and the Size is perfect!
Thanks man!
@@HeyWorshipLeader I got one for my birthday so I'll be grabbing your expanse pack. Thanks for all the support and videos Jimmy!
would be cool to clear up a block or two that are using the OD's in the Stomp. The midi would allow for using even the Lamb as a dual drive..hmm.
Yes!

If you're not using a HX Stomp, what's the benefit of midi controls for these pedals?

What about us pod goers? No expanse for pods go’s ?
Maybe one day! I'm seeing more requests for it!
Is the Stomp better at overdrive or distortion?

Maybe your sign off could be “Selah until next time!” Just a thought.
That's pretty cool
