Excellent review for a car that sells itself. At the start of the test drive the driver had obvious reservations, but as the drive continued the new Aygo X revealed its hidden secrets. I had to smile at the several involuntary “Wows” of pleasant surprise. By the end of the drive the car had sold itself and earned a well deserved 9.9/10, which is amazing from a guy who tests cars for a living. I experienced the same revelations when I test drove the new Aygo X last week. I’m downsizing due to old age having bought every Yaris model Toyota has made. This car isn’t a Yaris but feels like one. There were a couple of annoying points I found, but mostly it was the narrow access through the rear doors. But I can live with that. As the showroom salesman told me, this is a car you will either love or hate: I love it and have ordered one. Ray England
your videos are beautiful and of high quality. It is really very important that the car is equipped with the safety sense, I think will be good Euroncap star rating.
This car is young funky and Fun!!....the other 2 may beat fractionally on spec which is fine if reached a stage in life of being force fed sweet biscuits and drinking lots of cups of 🍵 tea .. that's the difference 😅
I wanted cancel my order, since I need to wait my car for 2 months, but your review gave me more confidence at least to give it a chance to ask a test drive, at first, make a final decision 😊.
Hello, i need this automatic car! , but i work outside the city, some roads with curves and small climbs, highway too. Do I make a mistake if i buy it? thank you
The salesperson told me that the Aygo X with the CVT takes 14.8 seconds from 0-100 km/h and with the 5 speed manual it takes the car 14.9 seconds. The difference is very tiny. And the overall driving experience with a small car will feel better with a manual. Because the tiny engine needs to rev up to a very high RPM and with a CVT that sounds is constant. But because I can’t drive a stick I had bought a Corolla with the hybrid and CVT. Because it was a lot less loud on the highway.
Cannot agree my friend, I have had a Aygo AMT auto for last two years. Great little car 55 mpg however you drive it, is great in manual mode as well. I drove new Aygo X yesterday with CVT, it was horrible and told the salesman. Bought a Yaris hybrid instead design spec only £1200 more than top spec Aygo X, no comparison is excellent. Why did not Toyota put in the engine and CVT from Toyota Raize sold in Japan. In fact why didn't they just bring that car to Europe. Proper small SUV with a turbo 1.0 litre engine and CVT gearbox.
It's a great car, but you don't have to rev it so much, then it will be much more quiet. Also don't forget It is one of the slowest cars on the roads. The 18 inch alloys are standard on the top model. To me, the alloys do not look great, What's this silver trend I prefer the Sporty black wheels.
Seem's like Tata Nano, for the European mkt. I assume they will EV model of this soon. How about the safety at higer speeds Dan. Nice video btw, to the point and covering all the imp points👍
I like everything about this car except the engine. It is a solid engine, but is a little weak for this car. It's basically the same I've got in my Citroën C1, and for that it's mostly fine. I don't think it will be fun going uphill with three other passengers and a boot full of stuff though
Don't forget guys, this car is so expensive for being one of the slowest cars on the road, As it uses an old 1 litre engine with no Turbo. If you bought this car, you will get used to everybody overtaking you., I have one.
Disagree, I own a CVT one. Nippy and responsive engine and accelerates much quicker , also stable and quiet 80+ on motorways. City car that performs fabulously, bold and unique design , with canvas top . Con, expensive and cheap plastics interior
Can you pull onto a 130 kmh+ motorway/freeway in a mature manner, and will the transmission stay mostly engaged on the belt that it actually is instead of all this rpm waddling? Will the engine always have to rev hard to pull up in speed or can you use the little torque that it has to raise the speed in a mature manner? On small hilly sightseeing country lanes will you then constantly loose the engines engagement and have to rev it to get over the hills or are you forced to carry 80 kmh to not have this revving happen? @@alexbeniatian6585

Thanks Ray for feedback 🙂👍🙏Indeed a pleasant surprise this car
Sums it up perfectly. I test drove it today and bought one afterwards. CVT of course for city driving in Cologne. Can’t wait to take delivery of it.
Had a Burnt Orange Aygo back in the day as a 'City Runabout' loved it - nippy (fast), easy to park anywhere great little car and as Dan says - Simple.
Yes it is quite good car for the size 👍

Yes right Aleksei 👍 Thanks for feedback 🙏

👍
You can shift gear (7) manually if you want with the flippers.
Is it better than the sandero stepway cvt?
I10 is better? Thx
Salut Dan elle est très jolie et bien fini Merci pour ta vidéo
Merci ami 👍🙏
Je reçois ma aygo x limited cette semaine j'ai hate de l'avoir 🤯😍
👍👍
Please could you write an updated review, how was it after almost a year of driving?
You can use manuel speed with thé cvt when you accelerate, to reduce noise
Ordered limited cvt 23.00€ in Greece I love this car❤ far better looking than Yaris cross but the only drawback is that backseats is only for bags 😂😂
How is the car compare to picanto or i10
Alina the other 2 are more affordable. Aygo have a higher driving position and seems to be more fun to drive...I have videos with other two as well 👍
This car is young funky and Fun!!....the other 2 may beat fractionally on spec which is fine if reached a stage in life of being force fed sweet biscuits and drinking lots of cups of 🍵 tea .. that's the difference 😅
can you tell me whether the car has a timing belt or a timing chain?
Steuerkette
Toyota Aygo only in Europe??
I'm picking my (automatic) in 3 days time. Can't wait!
Nice car and great video. I am going with Toyota once I have passed my test because I'm learning automatic in a Toyota.
I wanted cancel my order, since I need to wait my car for 2 months, but your review gave me more confidence at least to give it a chance to ask a test drive, at first, make a final decision 😊.
Glad I could help! For sure you need to make a Test Drive 👍👍

Maria I think you will do a good choice. The car is very good. You should do a test drive first and see how you like it 👍good luck
That's my same doubt! What about a trip to the mountain also?
The 5 speed uses more gas and it accelerates even slower.
Thanks Jaimee for feedback 👍

Yes agree ....it is little noisy....hard to compare it with Yaris...is better but more expensive 👍👍

My next car❤
I'm waiting for my Aygo X to arrive in Brazil. Thank you
Nice car boi!
Yes 👍
Rating 9.9 vs 9.6 Yaris Cross?
Yes they are in different class....can't compare it 🙂👍
@@SDADanCars what you Rating for C-HR?
I have tested an automatic one. CVT +1.0 72HP engine teribil choice.
Thanks for feedback 👍

Toyota has realised their EV range with production from 2025. The EV range concept for the Aygo X I believe is called BZ1x
Rahul the car is very good I was impressed for a small car like this to have such a good driving feeling 👍

Who cares about people overtaking 😂
I’ve never found speed for a ‘city car’ to be a necessity…personally speaking.

What happened with your forehead? Are you ok?
It is from camera on the head 😁 Thanks to asking Emmanuel 🙏👍🙂
I don’t like the Yaris
poor underperformance 1 litre cvt engine
Thanks for feedback 🙏
Lol 2023
🙂👍
26k for that small shit ? Toyota is out of their mind
🙂
It’s the same with all cars now the prices are ridiculous. This is not a shit car at all , I used to think so too until I used one.
