SUMMARY: Scotty doesn't really say new ones are crap. He prefers the Tundra with the V8 because it feels like it has more power, it sounds better, is quieter under the hood at idle, is less complicated than the new twin turbo V6 (easier to work on), only gets 4 or 5 miles per gallon less than the new one under real driving conditions, and is cheaper to maintain and keep than to buy a new one for 60k+.
It is illegal to tint the stock lights as that dims the lights and the reflective capabilities. Alternatively, these aftermarket lights are legal as long as they have bright reflective capabilities and bright lights (look for DOT approved)

Many cars have computer controlled turn signal flashers. Changing from incandescent to LED causes the turn signals to flash rapidly unless you install a ballast resistor, which defeats the savings in power you get from switching to LED. Not sure if the dealer can reprogram for LED or not.
@@n.0rr0.w Not really. I replaced a regular bulb with an led one and the flasher flashed rapidly. Not hard to undo a bulb and put a new one in. No mistakes on my part. Upon further research a while later I discovered that one has to splice in a 50 ohm resistor (1/4 watt I think it was) in series with the bulb to remedy the problem. Computer controlled the flashing. There was no separate flasher unit like older cars had. LED Bulb was a direct replacement.
@@n.0rr0.w Actually on many cars it will flash rapidly. Depends on the car. Even on my vehicle I had to replace the (separate) flasher unit with a heavy duty one or it would flash too fast.
You reviewed some Antline LED bulbs several years ago. I got some bright white ones for my reverse lights. I can actually *_see_* behind me at dark. They're still going. 😎👍
I've found that led lights for the tail lights don't create any heat, therefore when driving in winter snow conditions snow will build on the tail lights so they can't be seen. Incandescent bulbs create enough heat to keep the tail lights clear. It is a huge safety concern for me.
That's another good point, I do remember reading reviews from semi truck drivers about LED headlights, some were saying they had to constantly pull over and clean off the headlights when driving in the snow at night because the snow wasn't melting off and they couldn't see. I had never thought about that issue before then
On a 2016 hyundai sonata se, ecu ecm started flashing check engine light. Connected my less than $40 scan tool. Came back bad, something about engine bearings. Anyways, the rpm was very limited and speed was limited to 60 mph. What's messed up, we have zero check engine lights or low oil fluid lights prior to the engine bearing issue. Always make it a habit to check your engine oil level via dip stick at least once a week. Always make it a habit of making a mental note of any fresh dripping fluid when leaving any parking stalls. Appreciate Boss Scotty for making and sharing your YT shows. Stay blessed, y'all ❤
i used to have a 2015 kia soul and the same thing happened to me. drove it for another year just adding oil and im so thankful it didn't blow up on me.
I like the original look. Maybe swap to LED if you want a more modern look but not those smoked out ones I hate how those look. They have that tuner look to me. May as well bolt on the huge chrome echo fart tip too!!🤣
Same but I have them on as of 4 days ago. I drove with oem for many years. Now I have them smoked. I think it’s a nice smoked set as the led is still red out the box.
The only thing I would recommend is test the lights before you bolt them back in. More than likely, if it's a new kit, it should be fine (and providing the old one still worked fine, but you never know). The other thing would be make sure you get a decent one that has the proper resisters built into the lamp assembly too. I would think most if not all do, but you never know.
My side marker wasn’t working correctly. Turns on when I tap it gently on oem tailights. Tried buying new bulbs, and swapping bulbs left to right …..fixed the problem for a while. Problem came back. Purchased LED taillights , the led is red out the box so I feel safe when parked. Side visibility at night is better than ever. the OEM side marker isn’t being used at all but is plugged in to protect for corrosion. the running light does it all. i purchased mainly for safety.
