It's always the customer's who don't care about price that get the best job IMO. It allows the tech the time and parts needed to do everything right. Old trucks need more love when hoses, gaskets, and o-rings get old. I just finished a 6.0 for a good customer like that with many issues including all the CEL's for misfire, injector circuit, low/high ICP, EGR were all turned off and had a edge in line tuner stacked on top of a SCT tune... Truck had a bad Oil cooler and 3 bad injectors. It was supposedly a "tow tune" with 2360us lol. Most 6.0 "race" files I've see are 2500us, and most higher milage trucks with worn injectors and HPOPs will only take about 2300us. Even with a good HPOP and stock injectors 2300 to 2500 isn't but maybe 20HP at our elevation. I spent extra time and fixed many little issues and so he left very happy. Those are the customers who make it worth working on vehicle's.
Setting valve lash right after doing the springs would've been a good idea when I did springs on my 07. I backed all of the adjusters off because I was replacing the rockers at the same time and by time I was done I had no clue if I had the engine in the right place to set lash lol.
I'm glad to see some 12v content, I like your channel and that is what I have, so.. I've done the governor springs (3k) and a "0" grind on the fuel plate, and turned in (?) fuel screw some.. would delivery valves be the next step to gaining more power? Or would AFC Live be a better investment/ overall gains? Would valve springs be needed if I stick with the 3k governor springs?
I have an 05 Cummins motor is bad found an 03 runs great. Question I have us can I change nozzles of something to make my new 05 injectors work in 03 motor and is there anything else I need to do to make the 03 work in my 05
Surprised you didn’t convince the guy to go ahead and do the head gasket and put that extra time doing springs and seals in on the truck towards doing it on the bench. If it’s legit 350rwhp and those miles it likely will be sweating coolant or oil soon.
Nice clean 2nd Gen. Too bad he can't keep it in Cali. I heard the other day that they past a law that diesel trucks 2005 an older won't be able to get registered. That's a shame. Love the vid though brother.
The amount of ads on youtube these days, I fucking hate it, I just watched two in the beginnning and now it's throwing out more ads during the god damn video

I couldn't agree more love doing that work for those customers
Those SoCal trucks stay so nice. Awesome!
Pretty sweet truck. Nice work.
Appreciate it!
The 12v trucks are awesome in my opinion. Good video 👍
I remember the 350hp days. Life was reliable and cheap then
That's a real factory racetruck!
Hell Yeah Brother 🇺🇸🦅
Great job explaining how to this work. Tell your wife Happy Birthday from all of us tomorrow!
Thank you! Will do!
12v content for the win......valve seals are a good plan when you're already there.
Great stuff!!! Love it!!! Couldn't agree more on the customers. Keep it up!
Love the 12 valve!! We have to keep these Old Girls on the road 😀
I do my best

Yep it definitely can help!
You can get top cap valve seals that are made to fit the stock 12 V head. I bought a set for my 97 215 HP manual Trans engine.
Yeah, except when we tried them a few years ago they tore at high rpm
Nice Video Josh! #ppumptheworld
Gauuudannngggg lil 12v action
Yep my 97 12v was an egr truck
Finally…… back to some Cummins content!!!!!!
🤓
How’s a stock 47re hold up to this??

AFC live will dial in the power better, but DVs will generate a bigger increase
Gtreat video 🤘
Never knew that. 12v with emissions
Ol boy done lost some weight

You can but send them out to be changed so they can be balanced

I hear you, but just wasn't in their budget
P pump trucks rule. All mechanical, rarely break.
Love the content as always Josh. Hit me up if your interested in 12v 800hp build. Im in Ca also just can't find any good shops.
Had the timing already been advanced previously?
Correct it's at 18*
@@horsetorquesdieselThanks, this level is what I’m looking for for my ramp truck. 47 GMC COE, Alison 6sp.
Still worth more than my ‘15 duramax 💯
The sad truth 😂
Prosource diesel makes Tophat seals that don’t need machining.
I was like didn’t he just post this same video but I think it was on tick tock I still don’t know but know I just seen you work on this truck right?
Yep we cross post for sure!

No it was for 4500 and higher
@@horsetorquesdiesel I guess that's better, but going after the working man that moves all of your goods around the state is still a shame.
I just bought a 93 d250 with 132k
That back cylinder dont look fun.

Don't any of these guys wash an engine before tearing into it!!!
Sunglasses come down to the end of the nose speed bumps!!!! absolutely not
😂
