Really good break down. I had to use the lyric “I choose me I am sorry” to a woman that cannot accept rejection or move with her life. She then later called me a narcissist out of anger cause she didn’t get her way. Eliminating that stress and toxicity from my life is a healthy decision and choice.

Thanks for watching and for sharing your story. It never fails to amaze me, how music can be used in so many ways to get a point across. It's a great line from a great song. Also, anytime you are able to eliminate stress and toxic people from your life you will be way better for it now and down the road.

I have a parallel to this, in leaving someone who couldn’t reject me clearly, but preferred to lead me along and give mixed messages instead. I was so bent on finding clarity and maybe some kind of approval, that it kept me from being true to me and leaving. It was embarrassing, trying to find clarity in someone incapable of giving it without becoming defensive, or mocking me for calling them out. I had that “spidey sense”, and ignored it. I realize that’s the part of me I actually needed to work on. Self-trust

This is great. Haven’t seen many analyses take this approach, very relatable

Thank you for the video! Definitely something refreshing on the take away from songs. Kendrick has a way not to sugarcoat the meaning of music. He understands it and uses it as a tool or channel to speak to people.

Thank you for watching and for all of the great points that you made. I agree that what makes Kendrick special is that he does not sugarcoat things, and that he is direct and honest. I also agree with you that he does use it as a tool and as a way to talk to people in a very open and blunt manner. Thanks again for your thoughts.
