Right, they're actually fairly sleek. They do have a wide toe box, but no more than many other boots that *don't* get called clown shoes. For people with wide feet, this is a good thing.
Size the hell down i got fitted today they wanted me a half size down from 12.5 based off of the foot machine, I fit a sneaker 11.5 and i didn't have a snug fit until i dropped to 9.5 D
Unironically my Iron Rangers are my fancy/classy boot of choice 😂😂. They don’t really look clownish on me and with a nice pair of slacks and a good polo or dress shirt and I feel like I look like a million bucks. Would definitely Iron Rangers as they are sturdy as they are nice looking.
I love my Iron Rangers, don't think it looks like a clown shoe at all. I do agree that it needs more shock absorption, plan on putting a midsole and lug sole when it is time to resole. They really fit my foot well.
I love the iron rangers. But Redwing needs to stitch the gemming. They come loose over time because they only glue em. Otherwise, they’re my favorite boots.
Sold mine. The toe indeed is very ugly, and you cant dress these up in any way. Like the only times footwear doesnt matter, are suited to wear these. Even casually I tend to wear nicer things
As long as you actually get the right size, they don't look like clown shoes.

A leather midsole would make these boots perfect. I still love em though. I’ll add a midsole when the time for resole comes.
good idea! i just visited a shoemaker in vietnam who added a storm welt to his: instagram.com/p/C7pa3FFvQ38/?img_index=4
@@Stridewise yea I am just waiting. I feel I need to at least wear them down a little bit. It’s so tempting to recraft them.
I got Blacksmiths because I don't like toe caps.
super fair
I just got a pair of Muleskinners this week and love them!

That would be awesome!
My IR don't look clowny on my feet imo. Only when compared to GS or indy side-by-side do they look out of place.
Get them in black and use some shoe polish and they work fine dressed up a bit, maybe up to khaki & sport coat dressy.
They're too bulbous for me. I dont my boots to be too sleek nor too bulbous. A good middle ground for me
