Agree with Ken's assessment. Energy (especially oil at the moment) shortage is going to cause plenty of downstream effect. It is the lifeblood of production and logistics. Sure, there's no true shortages since Russian oils are being redirected to other countries. But for those countries with excess of oils, they have little to no use unless they could either: (i) Resell it - Which they may face embargo and trade restraint from profiteering of it; OR (ii) Increase production of goods and services with it - But inflation and demand side destruction in other countries would not incline other countries to purchase excess goods or services. Pretty much nobody wins in this Russian-Ukraine war, with the rest of the world being collateral damages. I suspect we ain't gonna see the light at the end of the hyperinflation tunnel until the war ends.

Hey Ken, do you think oil could go above 200$ this year considering these factors: Supply will decrease since reserves are getting dried up (US). Also, demand from China will rise as their covid restrictions will be gone and their economy starts. Then, winter is coming, thus further increasing the demand for oil. And on top of that Europe will need more oil than usual this winter due to the sanctions on Russia and the limited gas.
@chickenGeniusSingapore - How do you feel about Midterms coming up - Ive looked back and seen how the stock market has been manipulated in history during midterm elections. Thinking the market will be artificially propped up until the elections for democratic benefit - and then dump comes afterwards. Would appreciate your input. Thank you!
