It is really good to hear a British guy explain chain saw tips. have some unguarded 1/4 pitch chain on my 194, it doesn't cut any quicker and I have always filed the cutter away before I touch the depth gauges. There are lots of people on youtube that are really into fast saws which is fun but any saw is heavy after a day's work fast or slow!
I'll have to check this against my echo chain. When I looked my stock one didn't have this but now that I know what I'm looking for I'll check it against my Oregon LPX chain. Thanks for the video
The Oregon LPX comes in both low kickback and non kickback styles, although the LPX low kickback chain is probably the least effective out of all the semi/micro chisel chains due to its style
yes I got a Stihl picco low kick back MS 192 C 0.35 pitch , 0.050 guage , 55 link , 30° chain angle tooth , 5/32" round file , with rake teeth at 0.65mm or 0.025 inch heigth
I have some different chains. Some have the tab on the drive link behind the raker, but it is the same size and you can't see it when it's straight. So, I guess that kickback tab is only exposed on the tip as it bends around the nose?

Tricky to visualise but maybe? Not all chains have the same low kickback design.
