Amazing video of the former Fire Field world record in F-Zero for the SNES by the Japanese player Akiyoshi.
Played in NTSC.
Studying a 17 year old video for F-Zero 99
Literally me right now
Same haha
we all know for a fact that one day this infamous track will return in F-Zero 99
And that day is today.
@@JakeTheVictini Hell has reawakened.
@@JakeTheVictini Can't wait to come back home to play this and end on the 20th position XD
What a beast time. No tricks, no nothing -- just an absence of screw-ups. Glorious.
I can smell the F.Z.99 players checking this vid out for tips.
Its gonna be a bloodbath when it drops
I had the same strategy for one of those first turns after the lap mark - bash into the corner and take the damage. My friends thought I was stupid, but you sacrifice a bit of power in one quick hit rather than try to take the corner and draaaag along the outer wall. Neat! Affirmation at last!
F-Zero is the best racing series of all time, F-Zero GX was really a classic and so was its predecessors
I will always admire and respect this video at 3:37, when positions change for inexplicable reasons
The dude was playing so well that the game stomped its foot down and said "No, you're getting second place instead"
Can't wait to play this track in F-Zero 99.
It's here!!
And to think this track in F-Zero 99 is supposed to be beaten at 3'04"00 in order to get an achievement.
Originsl had 5 laps per race, 99 has only 4 so it's not so bad. Still tough though, especially with the stingray
People kept talking about how difficult this track is going to be when it drop in f-zero 99, so I looked it up. This guy made it look so easy that I didn't pick up on the difficulty until the 3rd lap or so. That S turn is insane, I kept wondering why he was hitting it like that. Those gravity walls on that long straightaway. The bombs throughout. I can't wait
If you read this, i know why you're here. Good luck, you're gonna need it.
+Viper Hydar I'm not sure whether or not you are trying to be a troll or not but I don't see how this guy posting his time on a game on TH-cam is considered egotistical or lame at all. It takes a lot of skill to put up incredibly fast times in racing games since you have to be extremely precise on your turns, especially in a game like F-Zero, and not make a single mistake otherwise you'll miss out on having a top time. People have a lot of pride in these kinds of things because they are records within themselves, whether they be personal records or world records. Wouldn't you be proud if you were the best at something? Chill out dude. Seriously.
凄すぎます。
ただでさえこのコースは敵も邪魔でタイム出しにくいのに
ガードビーム反射技も5周全部成功させるなんて
信じられません。恐れ入りました。
I got a SNES this Friday with F-Zero and I love it. The 16-bit era is the best era
He uses the boost pad at the end and since in F-Zero, Fire Stingray decreases speed at the lowest rate, hes at a higher speed at 999kmph - 100kmph per second stopping back at 478kmph instead of a constant kmph throughout the entire straight. Thats my analogy of it.
This video is evergreen. I have the 99 Pilot Card backdrop thanks to your video!
Thank you!
I'll use these strats in F-Zero 99 :)
I just picked this up again after not playing it for more than 10 years. This level is HARD. and this guy makes it look so easy.
hopefully I can glean some skill from watching this video...
The fact that this was 17 years ago...
No save states, no practice mode, no nothing, just pure skill.
Also, every time he had to play this track, he had to do the whole king league. You died? Too bad. Now do it all over again.
yup, I used the green car. It had the best armor so I used it to ram the other cars a lot for fun. But to really set speed records you had to use the pink muscle car. Weird thing about that car was the faster the car was going, the better it turned. So if you raced flawlessly, you could stay at top speed while still making all the turns.
When I tried this level last week (first time in years) I thought the first laps were a breeze, but then I went and lost like 90% of my health, and BAM! lost.
Then the exactly same thing happened 2000 times afterwards.
It just goes to show how long Fire Field is. More time to listen to the awesome music! I usually compare this to the N64 rainbow road, with it's length and it being the last race in the game.
When I was younger I always thought that those other cars on the track looked like moving helmets o_0
Wow...that was impressive. I've never finished in less than 3'32", and that was with using a lot of the same techniques shown here.
Lol that parked blinker by the magnets on lap 4. Classic Fire Field. Absolute bastard of a track.
Dear frick, this looks insane to do, even when I'm not that good at driving games 😨
All I can say, hats off to this dude who accepted this 👏
This stage in 99 is going to give me a panic attack
holy shit for 13 yrs i never thought of using the walls like that...this guy is good
Man, they just don't make'em like this anymore. Gotta love a race game that requires you to hit a wall head-on to nail a turn.
This game has very good music!! I loved it!!
Mad skills! a TRUE pro!
Damn, I was expecting it to be crazier than this but this guy isn't much better than me I swear! I guess that's what happens when you play this game for 11 years straight!
My favorite course. The background & music is killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I havent downloaded f zero 99 yet but id imagine this track desth wind 2 and and whiteland 2 are absolute chaos
Pure classic SNES futuristic gaming goodness.
Man, that's crazy! And gotta love that fast melody at 01:13.
01:13 1:13
01:13.
How
one of my favorite games of all time.
ok... este man SI ES UN FREAKI.... es decir, yo pensaba que ya habia visto a buenos jugadores, pero esta man está iluminado....
Amazing race !! Fire Field was hot as hell ! I never finished 1st on this track...
Always hated those bloody pace cars that roam around and fuck with you. Props for sneaking around those bastards on such a tight track.
I met Akiyoshi, on a concert, he played F-zero while Victor Konietzko played guitar and tried to make it sound like f-zero. Too bad you can't get that on youtube.
idk if it's the best in the WORLD but if any1 beat this record and all the others of yours i would die because this is FRIGGIN awesome!!!!!!!
F Zero and F Zero X were probably my favorite racing games ever. Whatever happened to them?
Randomly in my recommended 😂
That was a nice run, makes me want to dig out my old game and see what my record was, it might have been close to that, but probably not.
omg i need to play this game all over again
That level is so hard. That was incredible.
I just recently beat fire field on beginner, although it was a second place finish, now to move up in difficulty lol, This is a great run, I usually have trouble with the Fire Stingray due to its low acceleration, I've been practicing getting bumped at the start, this video makes it look a lot easier.
I remember almost being this good with the green car. so nuts!
This is really incredible...
Great driving dude!!! Epic top speed at 2:13
Great play!
Amazing performance. I have 2 versions of this and one is slow and one is fast. On the slow version can get thru in 4:35 on the fast one 3:27 and change. I find the stingray is best at most races especially in the knight league but to get thru Fire Field this easy just spectacular.
I love this game's sound effects. It totally owns the 64 version (but no the Game Cube version), just like the SNES version of Star Fox has an outstanding sound compared to the 64 version.
I wonder if he could have made a better time if he choose the other aproach at the end. (The same he took in the other laps)
The guy who wrote the music is a huge fan of Deep Purple no doubt. You can hear a Burn-like riff here and there hehe.
i wonder what it'd be like to be an f-zero driver and seeing this guy come up from behind. scary shit
the one thing that RELLY impressed me about this game was its awsome music
Same here. I loved it, but Lord, how bad I was...
Ironically, he's using my favorite car.
Sidenote: I never considered deliberately hitting the wall, but it makes sense - it's faster than having to make the turns.
This is the only track I can't beat on Master. How the hell are you handling the turns bumping into the rail??? Do you let go of the gas after hitting the rail and press it to not lose much speed???
+Ness Kirby if you quickly press the shoulder button and start tapping the gas you can regain control after the wall-hits. There's a bit of a learning-curve to it. Gotta find the right timing otherwise it won't work.
*****
Thanks for helping! Just to be clear, do you tap shoulder once when you hit the rail or hold it?? Also tapping the gas rapid fast, medium, or slow??
+Ness Kirby you hold the shoulder button after you hit the wall and you need to tap the gas pretty fast. at least that's how i do it.
DAMN AWESOME MAN, he know how to drive man....wooooow...5/5 starz
Very impressive! It's hard not to eat a mine or wall here with all the other cars in the way. Good job! XD
Holy cow...and I felt pretty accomplished when I managed to drop below 3:30.
@Frostbeule
People offen confuse the Yellow car as being the fastest due to the ability to reach it's top speed way faster than the others. Using the Fire Stingray is the most challenging in the harder tracks due to that reason.
Have you played f zero 99?
This is so sick. Very nice. I always hit those goddamn orange cars whenever I try for a best time, so my best is a lousy 3:26 and change. :(
Imagine this course in mirror mode on F-Zero 99 it’s gonna be challenging
oh man i use to play this game so much when i was a kid i think im going to get it for VC on my wii right now.
Excelent driving. You are the true Samurai Goroh, the rival of Captain Falcon.
Man, I hope they have another F-Zero stage in Smash Bros Brawl. Mute City and Big Blue were hectic!
F zero was the racing game for pros
Man, this game brings back memories the Fire Stingray was my personal favorite. Though...did anyone really use the green craft? (wild goose/green goose...can't remember)
1:06 so hitting the was IS the best way to take that turn.
Cracked brought me here too! That run was pretty beast!
That Is What The SNES Version Looked Like Oh My Gawd
This is the final track of the King League in the first game.
That guy's the master!
Akiyoshi for president.
I always flat out hated those fucking cars that were blinking like they were ready to explode when you were out front.. As a kid I would scream and shit myself when one of them bumped me out of first place.
I love this game.
Astonishing! My best time is 3'28"21 using the FS
At the beginning when it says "5. Fire Field"... the text is RED. This means he is either playing on expert or master. You want to insult this guy but your insult has failed. This time is absolutely ridiculous and godly. If it were on Beginner or Standard, he'd have LAPPED Falcon for sure.
the music in that game was awesome :D
Fire Field, White Land, and Red Canyon should be stages on the next Super Smash Bros.
Smashing into the wall shouldn't make your driving more efficient, but it did in this game. I miss that.
This is really something.
.........
This has destroyed any notion I may ever have had of being good at F Zero.
@Frostbeule I know this is 'a bit' too late, but, if I may ask: why didn't he get bumped by both blue AND green at the start? I know I used to do that on the oval course, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
Im surprised he didnt twitch at 0:58. LOL, he probably played this level so many times, he probably knew that guy was gonna head for the mine.
Death Wind II wasn't too bad for me. White Land II is another story. I think it's almost as hard for me as Fire Field.
Dayum... this video makes me realize I may never beat that stage on Master.
this is great to watch, its very nostalgic for me! i always used to love the music in this game, another thing i used to love was the background graphics of far away cities and stuff, i'm not too sure why....
Amazing skills!!
Ahhh, old memories. Classic Nintendo games were THE best.
This guy is not human...
I think it's the first one yet. Don't remember exactly, but it was for the SNES
if i remember right, its the last stage of the king league but i haven't played the game in like 7 years...
Hehe, I suppose he does. I didn't find the analog steering to be that great, though. Is the Wii version the same as the original SNES version or have some things been changed? I'd give it a go if its the same. ;)
Found a map list seems i just get 7 maps total and the seventh map is port town 2 instead port town 1.
DO you use emulator or do you actually have a snes to do this on?
amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!! incredible, this game is do good :D thank you for this video
no the fire stingray is the best, it handles the best. if you know how to drive it, you use the other cars to boost your speed when you first start a level. it takes mad damage too. better than the other threee. and it holds its speed stable at turns while others lose their speed.
