BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2 is the direct sequel to the original F-Zero on the Super Nintendo, released for the Satellaview, a peripheral to the Super Famicom in Japan that allowed users to download games through satellite broadcasts. This sequel features 5 brand new tracks under the "Ace League" cup, considered to be more difficult than the tracks on the original F-Zero.
In this movie, nymx ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/nymx ) speeds through all 5 tracks in the game in record time. Each race, aside from the last 2 tracks, are finished after entering in 2nd place to skip the winning animation. There is an alternate encode provided that shows each race ending in 1st place, to achieve the fastest in game time.
This is the first ever Satellaview publication on this site.

Luna Bomber would be so busted in F-Zero 99.
It effectively has the top speed of Fire Stingray (Stingray is a negligible amount faster), but it has an acceleration stat that even Golden Fox can't match. Its power slide is a bit nasty, but even in a skid, it has speed retention on par with Stingray.
It hits Stingray top speed about as fast as Fox hits 437.
I hope they add the Ace League to F-Zero 99, but none of the cars, especially this one.

So... Do you just basically optimize the first lap and repeat it until the race is over?

There is a process that I following. I spend a lot of time on the first and second lap. Once I'm satisfied with the 2nd lap, I copy the inputs over for the next loop and initiate my BOT to clean it up. I know this is hard to imagine, but the "Sub Pixel" position of the car is different enough that on each lap completion, the inputs will not carry it all the way through to the end. It is a long long process.

I assume _sub pixel_ improvements are the different between literal single frames in optimization?
Actually mind blowing that something so hyper optimized has to be measured in single frames or even SUB PIXELS

@@AgentLokVokun Thank you! One more thing...the addiction with other games, is to go for frames. Here, the addiction was small amounts of subpixels. Not going for every little bit, would mean the difference in a frame for each lap. Why? because subpixels add up to pixels. When 9 pixels are found, you have another frame! :) With so many turns, it is always easy to think that small amounts don't make a difference. Now you see the reason for me building a BOT to discover them all.
