You are the perfect picture of how a real Chef should when doing a cooking show…direct, simple and very relatable approach…no unnecessary ad libs to get attention and likes…You are just your natural self and your authenticity shows. Keep it up…just be yourself…your don’t have to prove anything to anybody anymore. Your Family are the luckiest people of having you as the Husband/Father as well the people of Ormoc…i hope they all realize how lucky they are to have you as their Mayor….wish all towns in Pinas will have a mayor like you. Love it how you embrace the Visayan language and not insisting to only speak Tagalog like other Tagalog men /women have settled in Visayas …feeling nila mas superior sila. More power to you Richard.

What’s good about the way Richard Gomez does his videos is that he communicates in relatable terms. Goma, we all know you always bring things you’re interested in to masterclass level since the 1990s. It’s never a half baked effort. So thanks for finding the right blend of masterclass techniques and democratized communication! Also, I tested this recipe of yours. It’s delicious!

To take the smell of garlic off your hands, just rub your fingers on the side of your knife when washing it. Stainless steel or metal will remove the smell of garlic. May nabibili din soap-shaped stainless steel made just for this purpose.
By the way, this is my all-time favourite dish. This is the first meal I cooked for my hubby (he's Aussie kaya hindi sya familiar sa Adobo) 💖
Thanks for sharing your recipe, Sir Goma! Now I know na parehong-pareho po pala tayo ng style/version! Approved by my kids! Thanks din sa nagrequest 👍

Your Adobo made hungry! Made me remember the best Adobo I've ever tasted 70 years ago when I was in the Philippines.
I attended elementary school there and with other young students and Teachers we had an excursion to see the Pagsanhan falls
and we were supposed to bring our lunches. The lunch prepared for me was a homemade hamburger with meat and ketchup.
It was lunchtime and a group of us found a big shady tree for our Picnic. We were opening our paper bags to start eating, and suddenly I smelled something wonderful and tasty, and I looked for where that delicious smell was coming from. Turned out
It was the girl next to me opening her lunch bag. She had started to peel the banana leaves and showed me her lunch and in a
shy way she told me they wrapped her lunch with Banana leaves because they don't have wrapping paper. She showed me the content
and it was a bulky round shape rice and around it were slices of chicken pork Adobo with garnishes of cut up fresh tomatoes,
salted egg cut in 2 and a spoon with bagoong inside. I was so happy when she shared half of lunch with me. I wished I could recreate
that meal but I live in Paris and where on earth can I find fresh Banana leaves and salted fish. The Asian markets are closed because
of the confinement. I'm turning 80 and comfortably settled, but my wish is to have Adobo, fresh tomatoes, a dab of bagoong and
have it wrapped in banana leaves. By the way, I think it was dried Adobo! Thanks for bringing up childhood memories.

Great cooking Goma! I’ll try to cook your adobo style, it’s very unique.. you are very authentic & hands on- no measurement & impractical ingredients. For me here in Florida, lemon slices to rub on my fingers after slicing garlic helps remove the smell or my dishwashing soap DAWN helps a lot too. Goma, you were my favorite actor before & now my cook idol.. God bless you!

Rub your hands with any metal.even in your sink if its made of metal or stainless.double purpose, u cleaned ur hands and ur sink at tye same time.hahaha! But what i do is i rub my fingers through the knife that i used to chopped the garlic.but be more careful when u do it.it's knife.😉 More power Mayor!

Hi po, just a simple tip lang po to remove yung smell ng garlic or even yung “fishy” smell ng seafood sa kamay is to just rub a small amount of toothpaste sa kamay, then give it a good rinse. You can wash your hands as well with a regualr aoap after and Im sure wala na yung amoy garlic or lansa sa kamay. 😉 Try it po. 👍🏻 more power, God bless and stay safe. 🥰

Since you asked for it, I just wanna share an effective way of removing the garlic and onion smell on your hands / fingers. ☺
Make sure to wash your hands first with soap and water before doing the next step. Next is to get a clean stainless steel pot or pan, could be a laddle too. Then, scrub the part of your hands or finger on whatever stainless steel material you have. Keep scrubbing until you notice that the smell is gone. Then wash off again with soap and water if you feel the need to do so. That's it! I hope it works for you as it does for me.
Thanks for sharing your version of each recipe. Congratulations and good job! 👏 👏 👏 Stay safe and healthy always, and so with your family 💕😍 🤗
And oh, my fave adobo is the original Tuguegarao adobo which has slightly oily, thick soy sauce and somewhat dry which I believe was one of your favorites aside from our dry dinuguan and pure meat and liver igado. I remember that when you came to visit Tuguegarao for a concert with Janet Arnaiz and you witnessed the first coup d'etat there. Late 80s or early 90s 😂

I love watching your show. This is like a suggestion when making adobo. Why not add a little of sugar to neutralize the taste of sourness ? By adding sugar it can improve more the taste of adobo. Pls. Try it & compare the taste of the two adobos🙂🙋‍♀️.By the way you are not only a handsome actor, politician but you are also a person who do have lots of talents/skills. Mabuhay ka!

About the adobo I prefer medyo Tuyo lang d Tuyo Kasi masarap din yung sauce sa rice. Napuna ko mapaminta ka minsan nuong nagsangag ng kanin. Yun lang.

Richard - being a hypertensive, my intake of salt is usually limited - so we created a twist to the adobo by using more garlic, only a pinch of salt, low sodium soy sauce, a little Worcestershire sauce, add bay leaf or basil - we fry the lean cuts of pork and chicken first, then add the vinegar and water, then it gets better when you heat it up 2-3 times.

Your version is similar to ours 🙂
    The differences
    - we put all the ingredients at the same time
    Chicken and pork
    -no oil
    -no ground pepper
Reduced until nagmamantika na pero may sauce pa din
    Key points:
Liver is mashed in the end, so its ok to cook it longer
As pér chicken, to absorb more flavor, it won't fall off the bones cuz there's no néed to stir while boiling
