I received the Grumpy's toy- 1972 Chevy Vega model kit. I am working on it now, taking my time and having fun with it. Happy New Year to you and your family!!! Have a great day and I enjoy your videos!!
Back in the day, I always dreamed of big sized models. I built dozens of 1/24 & 1/25 models, but again, I wished they were bigger. I did a couple of Big Daddys bigger scaled dragsters... then stopped building in the late 70s, and the real world stuff took over work marriage 2 beautiful sons & business. Forward to the mid 90s, I have 2 boys, and we did the whole Lego HotWheels and heavy into R, C cars, and trucks and had about 100 or so 1/18 metal diecast cars. They grew up and have storage buildings worth 4X4 trucks and offroad rides for the summer and winter. I've been away from the hobby for a while now but that 1/12 Camaro is wicked and I'd come back if they ever do a Project X 57' Cnevy from Hot Rod Magazine and The Hollywood Knights movie. 😎👍 Thank you for the awesome build and video Happy New Year 2025 ✌️😎
Beautiful. Camaro ...love the color .the white stripes bring it out . The best muscle car Chevy made that year . Happy new year Chris . Can't wait to see what you have this year . . Have a great weekend. .
My wife bought me a 1/12 scale Tamiya Tyrrell P34 six wheeler formula 1 race car. So many different color trees along with photo etched parts. Really looking forward to building that kit!
i originaly bought this kit in 1988 and it went together nicely, i painted mine orange with decals white still got pics of it but the car is long gone. im just going to stick to the 1/25 scale havent decided yet if im going to put all my camaros on my auto transport i just bought mostly finished now, doing it box stock.
Nice job, Chris! Your 'smooth valve covers' are actually the taillight buckets. I'll park one of these next to the 12th scale Countach that I built years ago.
I got a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner for Christmas. But that's not what I build first. I building the El Camino with the slid in camper. That Camino looks awesome.
Interesting to see this kit so soon after you built the big scale AMT Mustang. This seems to be a better kit overall. Didn't get any kits over the holidays, but may make up for it this month. Happy new year Chris, and i look forward to seeing what you come with in 2025.
gorgeous build, love the orange and white, i have looked high and low for this kit so that i can replace the one i built back in 1988 which is when,, i believe, this kit came out, i bought one off of somebody i saw in a facebook post last year for 200,00, it came with the whole camaro and complete lower half, interior, drivetrain, and suspension but missing, body, and any body related ,so pretty much, the second set of wheels from the first kit would give a second complete rolling chassis, oh, and please, if revell reads comments on this post, please re release the big bad van.
Wow! I've never seen a 1/12 scale kit. My cousin bought a 69 Z in 73. It was dark green with silver (not stock, white form the factory) stripes, and black interior.
I bought myself some car parts, i got the front control arms for a 1997 vw golf mk1, the shock mounts, inner and outer tie rod ends, ball joints and all the rubber bushings and boots
Great build chris and for that money you cannot complain. I recived the Tamiya McLaren Senna in 1-24 from the wife and the Porsche Carrera GT in 1-12 with the detail up kit from my stephsons. And my stepdaughters bought me a Porsche 934 RSR the Jeagermeister livery in 1-12. OLd man now, need to go to the big scale cars.
Nice build and jazz fusion song at 53:04 too. Was listening to Jaco Pastorius song Portrait Of Tracey. FYI he's on one of Greatest Fretless Bass Player of all time (RIP)
Same. I saw him gluing painted parts together. There's a certain glue to use on painted parts. Otherwise, you have to sand down contact points so the styrene will stick to each other.
Nice..new release I guess. I have the last release waiting to be built. Interesting about the A pillars, mine are messed up too. You can do so much detailing on these. I want to put the 427 from the 1/12 Corvette in.
Thanks Chris, you are a very down to earth modeller with straight to the point information. Nice kit, the warpage sounds annoying, did you try some warm water on the roof pillars to tease them back? I would of opened the doors and trunk up, but I know you do not have time and prefer the quick build style approach. I just bought the 1/8 Revell Trans Am, expecting lots of warpage 😂, nothing most of us cannot rectify. Hope you had a great Christmas and all the best for 2025 from Scotland. 👍
I would buy it again 2 decades later ifen I could get it. Excellent base for detailing for beginners or pros. I colour-matched the rallye rims to the body and either 'fit' the supplied 60s or 1/25 truck tires. I'd do it all again... HNY HPI
I got myself the amt kw k100 aerodyne hideout truck and the amt 1/16 scale 57 Chevy convertible. I started with the Chevy doing a restomod bronze/purple and superdetailing the engine.
I think carburetors come out real nice when they start off Chrome, and you put Testors gold paint over the Chrome, they come out pretty close to a proper color.
For the dashboard, I'm surprised they don't provide a clear panel to set the decals on, then mount in the dash. I had a large scale 80's Corvette with the digital dash and they did the same thing. They also should have opened the doors and trunk at this scale.
My kit was just delivered today. The Camaro and Z/28 emblems are molded on the front fenders. Do i sand them off before I put the decals on or try to put them on over the molded emblems? For detail, I might cheat. My exboss has an orange '69 Z/28 with dual quads.
Love your builds on the workshop which drive many of my kit builds, currently inspired by your AJs Bobby Allison 88 Buick. I’m asking for your help selecting a paint booth for my safety. All eBay booths list “airbrush” as the spec…is that too small or minimal fan compared to the rattle cans spraying I intend like your work? Would you share the model and make of your booth? Thanks, Jeff Hart West Bloomfield MI
You painted the back seats flat black then you applied some kind of a glossy coat made by testors, what was it titled on the bottle? I would like to do the same process on my kit. Thanks.
One thing I noticed lately that confuses me, is why Revell will release the same model under both the Revell USA and Revell Germany brands, put them in different boxes, and charge almost double, sometimes more than triple for the Revell Germany kit... I saw that Camaro kit on most Canadian model kit stores for around 80$CAD under the Revell USA brand, and the same stores will also have in stock the Revell Germany version for about 230$CAD; go figure! But on the other hand, I don't know how they can sell such a beautiful kit for just 80$CAD while some companies want more or a 1/35 tank or military truck kit! I'll continue praying to the model kit gods hoping that Revell also reissues either the 1/16 or 1/8 Camaro IROC Z!!!😍
Hi there Chris yes I a revell 1.24 model 68 or 69 Ghevy carmard it the same colour I like the one you are showing it's got stand wheels with dog Dish caps wish I am going to build it mate I got this Model before Christmas I got some Australia car Model 1969 xw Ford falcon G.T it was Australian muscle cars of 60s and 70s mate I pay for it was 59 dollars they sell the models cars for 79 dollars so I Fort that's not to bad mate of the price I all ways look out for the right price mate it like great model you are doing mate
I have the foos version i have only done 25% then life got busy and it's sitting in the cupboard with several other models of cars, motor bikes and military vehicles one day i will compete them on rainy days I have completed most of the star trek ships from the original series next generation DS9 and voyager, those were hanging from my hobby rooms roof with fishing lines had to take them down to paint the ceilings at my house
Hobby Lobby had a big kit T-Bird marked down for $10, I passed on it since I have no room to display really. But I will get a Camaro when I get my basement fixed after the flood of 1-21-24
Hello, love your great builds and I am starting an AJ Bobby Allison 88 Regal by your inspiration. I am asking for your input for a spray booth. I’ve decided where I paint just isn’t ventilated well enough and for my safety I want to get a booth but everything listed in eBay is an “airbrush”application. Is there any concern about using an airbrush booth for the rattle cans as my painting method? Can you please share the manufacturer and model number of your booth, it would give me more confidence in making the decision. Thank you very much, Jeff Hart West Bloomfield, Michigan.
Got two projects , 1/24 Revell 1964 Aston Martin DB5 James Bond 007 Goldfinger kit with USCP Resin engine , grill and wheels. Moebius 1964 Chevy 2 resto model with Texas 3d customs Resin DZ Z28 engine.
Now that's a great looking kit, but man it's going to be horrendously expensive to get it here in Australia. Model stores have it here for 300 aud, or import it from overseas which would probably put it between 35
I fell asleep to this video last night and decided to rewatch it today. Last night i thought it was an AMT kit, to realize it’s a Revelle kit, shame. I can’t imagine this kit if Tamiya had produced it. The price $150-$200 and no photo-etch?, parts that should have been molded separately, molded as a blob of parts. 3in1? Should be a two in 1-stock and high school Eddie. Where’s the four link, the cage, race bucket and NO2 bottle? 3D printer peeps should clean house on this kit. The 1/12 scale is a decision.
I get The Titanic port scene and vehicle. Made by a Chinese company called: SUYSTA. Part of their legends of the see series. Another kit is a stand alone Titanic and The Red Max 1914 tri-plane. I will be doing my best to replicate the beautiful box art.
i built that July 1987 until hurricane floyd destory in august 1999 and having trouble finding another one and i made open top why am i add madeit into convertable
I always think so complicated. Then he comes in, spray can here, glue there, paint stick there, done and NICE! Thank you for "calming me down"!
Liked the build - that really is a big car when you are done.
I received the Grumpy's toy- 1972 Chevy Vega model kit. I am working on it now, taking my time and having fun with it. Happy New Year to you and your family!!! Have a great day and I enjoy your videos!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR CHRIS an thanks for the time you effort to spend making are videos thank you
It's a GREAT kit, looking forward to building mine. 👍👍
Very nice build. Great opportunity to build a well detailed model. You did a really nice job on this one. Thanks for sharing.
Back in the day, I always dreamed of big sized models. I built dozens of 1/24 & 1/25 models, but again, I wished they were bigger. Happy New Year 2025 ✌️😎
Looks great! Another awesome job!
Now theres something you dont see every day! Chris wiring an engine!
Beautiful. Camaro ...love the color .the white stripes bring it out . The best muscle car Chevy made that year . Happy new year Chris . Can't wait to see what you have this year . . Have a great weekend. .
Beautiful kit, nicely done.
Got a 1:35-scale Tamiya Panzer Kampwagen I-B tank model for Christmas! My son got one, too. We're working on them together.
My wife bought me a 1/12 scale Tamiya Tyrrell P34 six wheeler formula 1 race car. So many different color trees along with photo etched parts. Really looking forward to building that kit!
Yes❤❤❤❤ I was hoping you'd do a build on this ❤❤❤❤❤❤Happy new year sir 😊
Very well done on that ‘69 Camaro Chris! She is HUGE! Excellent detail! Happy New Year!
Happy new year and well done
Nice Job Chris. I have 1 kit in my collection but i just got from Amazon, Will be here tomorrow....
The only thing missing are the car keys!
Beauty build - best you've done all year!
Happy New Year Chris ! ! !
So true, keys hanging from the ignition would be a nice touch.
Happy New Year Chris! Great build to start off the year 👍👍
Awesome Camaro kit & clean build HPI Guy man.
i originaly bought this kit in 1988 and it went together nicely, i painted mine orange with decals white still got pics of it but the car is long gone. im just going to stick to the 1/25 scale havent decided yet if im going to put all my camaros on my auto transport i just bought mostly finished now, doing it box stock.
too bad they didnt have the detail on the 1.25 scale as they do with this kit, love the roll down handles.
Nice job, Chris! Your 'smooth valve covers' are actually the taillight buckets. I'll park one of these next to the 12th scale Countach that I built years ago.
If I knew how, I can see putting in working lights and a sound kit like I've seen in RC cars...maybe even make it drive?
I'm putting in a lighting kit on mine that I got from TenaControls. It should fit perfectvon this kit.
Very nice build Happy New Year🥳
I got a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner for Christmas. But that's not what I build first. I building the El Camino with the slid in camper. That Camino looks awesome.
waiting on mine. hope to see it friday. looks like a great kit! was hoping to see you do a review. thanks, chris!!
Nice work Chris. Thanks for a great review on a large, but cool kit.
Ive been wanting to try somthin other than 1/25, maybe a 1/16 scale soon.
Got the f14 maverick edition from top gun great video thanks for sharing hope you had a merry Christmas and a happy new year
Great build, and start to 2o25 TKY!!
Interesting to see this kit so soon after you built the big scale AMT Mustang. This seems to be a better kit overall. Didn't get any kits over the holidays, but may make up for it this month. Happy new year Chris, and i look forward to seeing what you come with in 2025.

Nice build Chris!
Awesome 😎
Happy New Year! I'v Enjoyed Your Builds. Keep On Modeling In 2025.
Id love if they did more 1/12 kits like a 70 chevelle or a wrecker
I bought myself some car parts, i got the front control arms for a 1997 vw golf mk1, the shock mounts, inner and outer tie rod ends, ball joints and all the rubber bushings and boots

Nice build and jazz fusion song at 53:04 too. Was listening to Jaco Pastorius song Portrait Of Tracey. FYI he's on one of Greatest Fretless Bass Player of all time (RIP)
Makes me want to tackle my kit from the early 2000s.. Maybe I'll have better luck with it...🤔
Nice job Chris!....😉👍
I got a trailer for my international coe. It is the Sunoco tanker and I am in the process of stripping the chrome to paint it in the correct colors
LA Awesome is fantastic for stripping chrome. From the Dollar Tree. Fast too.
What glue are you using on your models
Same. I saw him gluing painted parts together. There's a certain glue to use on painted parts. Otherwise, you have to sand down contact points so the styrene will stick to each other.
What type of glue do you use
Same
Just ordered mine. It’s gonna end up Daytona Yellow. Like my old car, with crossram (yes, really).
Nice..new release I guess. I have the last release waiting to be built. Interesting about the A pillars, mine are messed up too. You can do so much detailing on these. I want to put the 427 from the 1/12 Corvette in.
Heck yeah, build a COPO.
I Wish They Would Do The 1970 Chevy Chevelle Model Car Kit in 1/12 Scale
Looks great. Z 28 😊 chrome ball shifter
I was intersted to know if you just cleared over the primer, or did you lay a black base coat before clearing?
An actual steering box,it's a super detailers wet dream
I would buy it again 2 decades later ifen I could get it. Excellent base for detailing for beginners or pros. I colour-matched the rallye rims to the body and either 'fit' the supplied 60s or 1/25 truck tires. I'd do it all again... HNY HPI
For asking purposes, what method do you use to warm parts to correct warping?
I just use hot tap water to warm the plastic.
I got myself the amt kw k100 aerodyne hideout truck and the amt 1/16 scale 57 Chevy convertible. I started with the Chevy doing a restomod bronze/purple and superdetailing the engine.
If they did a 1/12 '69 Pontiac firebird I'd buy it in a heartbeat
I didn't get any models for the 2nd year in a row so, I got myself the Moebius 65 Comet A/FX car
Cool mate👍
I think carburetors come out real nice when they start off Chrome, and you put Testors gold paint over the Chrome, they come out pretty close to a proper color.
Got the Dodge demond great build
For the dashboard, I'm surprised they don't provide a clear panel to set the decals on, then mount in the dash. I had a large scale 80's Corvette with the digital dash and they did the same thing. They also should have opened the doors and trunk at this scale.
I built this one decades ago. Also, the 1/8 1985 IROC-Z.
What happened to the metal series cars...Charger, KITT, VW bus?
Was looking forward to seeing the finished products.
We were wondering what happened to ya Chris HAPPY NEW YEAR to you
My kit was just delivered today. The Camaro and Z/28 emblems are molded on the front fenders. Do i sand them off before I put the decals on or try to put them on over the molded emblems? For detail, I might cheat. My exboss has an orange '69 Z/28 with dual quads.
Could those a-pillars being a little bent be due to packaging?
Love your builds on the workshop which drive many of my kit builds, currently inspired by your AJs Bobby Allison 88 Buick. I’m asking for your help selecting a paint booth for my safety. The same issue as the 1:16 scale charger had crushed pillars and for the money it should come in a stronger box and alot more parts.
You painted the back seats flat black then you applied some kind of a glossy coat made by testors, what was it titled on the bottle? I would like to do the same process on my kit. Thanks.
Glosscote
Got a Konigstiger by tamiya. Weathering is eminent.
I got the 1/16 scale 64 1/2 Mustang you recently built
Looks great.. hpi new year 🤪

Great vid as usual! But 60.00 Bucks, they need to fix those flaws!
Have fun, Happy New Year ,hope you have a blessed year.
