    Looks like a reissue of the one with the panther pink on the box except they changed the decals. A great kit. I built the first one in sub lime. I may get this version too.

      I've got one on pre-order, as well, from Model RoundUp. I never liked the lack of factory decals for the "pink '70 Charger R/T" kit in 2016, but I drooled when I saw Chris's presentation of the decals included in this 'Charger. In 1970 when MPC released their '70 Charger R/T, I free-handed black side "scallop" stripes on a Grape Frost paint job. I've lived with that job since then, but now I can build several '70 Charger R/T's with the optional stripes, and even the white ones ! I've been building since 1964, snf I can't believe the great stuff coming out now ! Thanks, Revell !

    Hi Chris, thank you so much for transforming me from the trials, tribulation and setbacks I've encountered with Airbrushes and airbrush painting. Went on a journey of two high-end premium Airbrushes with specialty paints, and it just created so many pain points, and frustration, that I'm going back to rattle cans. I read your replies below, and I completely agree with your philosophy. There's absolutely nothing wrong with rattle cans, and if it makes everything in the hobby more enjoyable...so be it. You've confirmed this time and time again. I suppose there's a time and place for airbrushing, and there's a lid for every pot, but as you've pointed out....I'm now going to enjoy this hobby more, doing it my way, (and your way)....with rattle cans. Thank you!

    Great looking build, I have always loved this body style of Charger, Growing up in the 1970's a neighbor of ours had a Red and White '69 Charger, the breaks went out and it was sold to the junkyard, I recently just found that out, I remember going in that neighbor's house and they had a shelf full of MPC 1968-'70 Mopar kits built. This particular one is a must have for me, So is that '69, I have an original 1969 MPC version of the kit that I wish would get retooled by Round 2, that body in that kit to my eyes is spot on! Keep knocking them out of the park my friend!!!

    1970 returning from the land of heated humidity I had 70% of my pay from 24 months. My wonderful wife got a job and moved in to my old bedroom to save money. I was told I could buy ANY new car I wanted - we had the money. After visiting EVERY new car dealership; drum roll, I bought a Datsun 2000 sports car with race cam, Weber carbs and extractor exhaust. Charger, my first choice, was out of stock. We happily drove from Seattle to Denver in December top down. Nice build, Chris !

  • @modelcars2978
    @modelcars2978 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I don't care what anyone says, those rims are boring. All the American manufacturers had their version of them. Used to be you couldn't walk around a shop without tripping over a set. I wish model companies would just add an option or two to each kit. The build looks great, though. You just can't go wrong with blue.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Take your time and remember it's just a hobby.
      One step, then another. Slow down painting. It's not a race and you don't have to keep up with or duplicate what others do.
      It's for you to relax and kick back while doing.
      As you do it more you'll get into a groove and find your pace and what techniques work for you.

    The kit says 440 in the deal sheet. Can you build the car with the 440 engine instead of the 426 hemi

    • @IamGalvatron
      @IamGalvatron หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This kit, over The years has been used to make 68-70 chargers and they have been issued with the 426 and the 440. The decal sheets have had labels for both engines.

    I thought Rust oleum paint was too thick for model kits

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't pay attention to all the folks who demand everyone build models their way using the materials they demand everyone else use.
      I don't trash anyone who chooses to use what they want either, if they enjoy it then that's great.
      I build my models for me, I use the paints I want and they turn out just fine.
      104+ kits per year for a decade now, no problems for the most part.

    • @edwinchampeau8685
      @edwinchampeau8685 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ I wasn’t trashing you or mocking what you do, you do a great job and just asked a question. I was thinking wouldn’t the paint particles would be thicker than what is in a Testors can, I know Rustoleum is the parent company, but are the cans themselves the same size; wouldn’t the Testors can have smaller paint particles and smaller nozzle then a can used to paint a wheelbarrow.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@edwinchampeau8685 Yes, in some cases there are differences.
      If a person takes their time learns the technique and practices they can get nice results with the cheaper paints.
      I didn't think you were mocking me, but I'm well aware of the channels that take pot shots at me and directly insult the way I and thousands of others like to build. They make the same remarks "lawn chair paint" etc and claim you can only use model paints, toxic two part clears and airbrushes or you aren't modeling 'correctly'. As if there is only one way to enjoy a hobby.
      I don't argue with those folks or take shots at them, I enjoy building and painting my way and so do thousands of others.
      Enjoy and thanks for hanging out!
