Christmas vacation is the 3rd installment in the National Lampoon Vacation series. It's Christmas time and the Griswolds are preparing for a family seasonal celebration, but things never run smoothly for Clark (Chevy Chase), his wife Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) and their two kids. Clark's continual bad luck is worsened by his obnoxious family guests, but he manages to keep going knowing that his Christmas bonus is due soon.

I love how James just completely ignores Justin every time he shits on the movie. This movie is so much better than Vegas Vacation hands down.
It's a classic for sure!
Vegas is enjoyable but still pretty lame compared to the others with it's pg family friendliness

Quite a few years ago, some family members and I started a sketch comedy podcast and named it "Bend Over And I'll Show You", directly from that line in Christmas Vacation. We worked that line into each episode too.

Clearly some type of moron lol....they all got gradually worse......the original is an all-time classic. Christmas Vacation is actually fairly goofy/slapstick....the music score and sound effects are particularly corny.....the original film (the uncensored version) is perfection

John Hughes movies have good rants. Remember Planes, Trains and Automobiles? There's one toward the start of the movie where Neil and Del are trying to share a hotel room, and the other one is Neil at the car rental place. Always funny.

This came out when I was like 13. I've seen it countless times. This is the least adult lampoon movie ever made. I would easily let a 5 year old watch this movie. The adult stuff would be lost of them anyways.

As much as I disagree with Justin on this one I always think it's better to include someone with a different opinion in the conversation. It promotes a more varied discussion and offers a broader perspective rather than just having everyone wait their turn to share the same thoughts.

Two greatest curse rants in movie history.
While they are the greatest curse rants, the king of rants still must go to Denis Leary. Though not often are his laden with excessive cursing, no one beats his flow. Best IMO are Demolition man, The Ref and Suicide Kings.
They are entirely different movies... but if I had to choose between those curse rants I'd say Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore was better and much more violent which made the movie good. Even the tagline on the poster made me want to see it...and to be clear I'm talking about the original poster from the vhs tape...it says "He doesn't play golf...he destroys it".
It was a family tradition in my house growing up that we all sat and watched this every year on Christmas eve. Love it! 😄

This was one of my favorite movies as a kid and still it to this day. It's always a tradition for me and my family to watch this over and over again. We've memorized every line and scene to this. It's amazing and I'm happy that you're finally reviewing it.
It seems like James has the sense that the film is a nice classic while Justin considers it horrible, both going into this assuming their opinion is the consensus and then all throughout the discussion it never really sinks in to either of them that the other has a different view 😂
