    Hi Ted!!! I was so, so glad when I saw your video in the notifications. WELCOME BACK! I am sorry about the bureaucracy and the uncertainty you are enduring. It is a terrible situation and nothing one can do about it. I sincerely hope all will work out well! I always enjoy each video you post, and there is always something new to learn from them. I am very excited about your blog. Will be heading there right after commenting here. Thank you so much for your thanks, shout out, and showing the World Postcard Day card I sent you. I designed it myself with elements from the internet. I posted it to you, because I really wanted to. I sent cards to everyone who means something to me, and I get so much from your YT videos, I am a bit of a "groupie". You are like gold for a beginner collector, and so generous with your knowledge! ... OK, I guess I should stop writing now. 🙂 Hope you will get a chance between all the things happening to stay in contact!

    Hey Ted! So glad to see a new video! God-willing the bureaucrats will get their process going a little faster and you’ll be in your own place soon. If I had known you’d be so enthralled with a WPD postcard I would have sent you one! Alas, I’ll still send you one anyway. Happy Stamping Ted! Looking forward to your next video!

      Hi Daniel. I love getting personal mail. The last few mail items I've gotten from the States arrived in a week, so there should still be time before I leave. Thanks.

    Hey Ted. Really good news you are back. Wish it was easier on you going and being in Germany. I live Germany, my wife is German, but burocracy is high there. And housing is bad, getting a house. Similar to The Netherlands. By the way, you are my neighbour now and not too far away. Hope everything turns out well for you soon!

    Great job, Ted, as always!
    I really feel for you on the transition and the Catch-22 situations. As much as we in the US complain about government bureaucracy, we are really in the bush leagues to many other countries, where it's a PhD-level skill. Contradictory requirements, conflicting timelines, etc., etc.
    Please keep us posted on the bad as well as the good. And I'm sure with time, you and the missus will be settled in and more at ease! "Eyes on the prize!"

    Great to see you back! Keep us posted on your housing situation.

    • @tedtalksstamps
      @tedtalksstamps  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the housing (we can extend our stay in this temporary apartment) so much as the government slowness. While we wait for an appointment to register our address (which is required before we can apply for residency) our 90-day visa-free period will end and we'll have to eave the EU for at least 3 months.

    Ted, did you do an episode about maxicards? Personalized stamps? Postmark cancelers MPP (USPS Form 3615, for philatelic precancels, not bulk mailers)?

    • @tedtalksstamps
      @tedtalksstamps  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, I haven't. I don't have enough (that is, not any) experience in those areas to talk about them. If you'd like to be a guest on a Zoom chat episode and talk about them, hit me up at ted.talks.stamps at gmail.

    I Ted. Hope you get to stay in Germany. I look forward to buying from you soon. Ps. Do you sell grab bags. Like hobby lobby type. Best regards from James in Scotland.

    • @tedtalksstamps
      @tedtalksstamps  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No I don't have grab bags. I found that having various boxes of kiloware lying around takes up too much room and is best, really, only if one is going to deal in them full time, because it is a full-time job identifying and sorting kiloware.

    I'm glad you are back...but sorry about your hunt for a apartment...I suppose you are living with relatives. I've been with the flu since Thursday 12/10 ,and although it's been a heavy one i'm slowly recovering with antibiotics and lots of liquid..

    Could the collection be moved intact or did you sell of alot?

    • @tedtalksstamps
      @tedtalksstamps  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did give a lot of stuff away, stamps and books. No biggie, really. I had been intending to reduce the scope of my collecting to one core area (early Germany, German states and colonies) and a couple topics (classical music and literature), so this was just the impetus I needed.

  • @le_med
    @le_med ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Are you going to get a P.O box so people can send you stuff through the mail?

    • @tedtalksstamps
      @tedtalksstamps  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can't get a P O Box because I don't know where I'm going to be living yet. I'm anxious to get settled somewhere, anywhere.😀

  • @fareast_de
    @fareast_de ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sad to know that you didn´t make better experiences in Germany. I wouldn´t say that it´s impossible to get a neat house or apartment over here, but it´s all dependent what you are willing or able to pay. Meanwhile the country is flooded with folks from Ukraine (some of the seem to be quite wealthy) and folks from Africa and Middle East, so it´s hard to get some real estate for reasonable prices. So, what are your plans for the nearest future ? Greets from GER, U.

    • @tedtalksstamps
      @tedtalksstamps  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand. It's not really the housing difficulties that is hindering our plans but the slow pace of the bureaucracy (which is also a result of the flood of immigrants and refugees). Our 90-day visa-free travel period will expire before we have a chance to even apply for residency. So ist das Leben.
