I’m in the process of adding a jack to my boat. I had a similar problem with the outboard’s clamps & used an old plastic cutting board to add spacers. I didn’t want to mess around with trying to waterproof wood.
Love the build, was just wondering how all was holding up and how heavy you figure your engine is. I would have researched that myself but I didn't see any horsepower on the motor that I can recall. Thanks and once again great build. Seriously thinking of doing the same.
Great build thanks for posting. Two questions: You said the actuator is rated IP67, but the one you linked to is IP54. Is it a different link to the actual one? Now that you have used it, do you have confidence in the rail/slider? It's hard to tell from the video how solid they are. Any fear of the rails bending? thanks!
The boat is store outside and get rained and is uncovered. its got about 5 trips since i've installed it. Still works good. The actuator doesn't look to be best built for sure. if it fails, just replace it. it doesn't cost too much and easy to replace, just two pins.
Awesome idea! What’s the speed on your actuator? I’m going to start ordering parts to build one, and want to see if I can find an actuator that will work but is a bit faster. Also, what thickness is that back plate of aluminum that the motor mounts to? I think you said it was 1/4”, but it looks thicker than that.
Very ingenious, great way of thinking outside the box
Thank you very much!
Hi,
I have 3 question please.
1) have you used this jack plate in saltwater?
2) how is it holding up?
3) anything you would have done definitely?
You could put spring assist to make it easier to go up.
You know thats not a bad idea

yes, i have since added PVC block to that clamp too.
Thank you for this 🙏
Damn rooster tail, nice
how does it hook to the boat ?pull it up with sprigs and a lever way faster
Hello friend, I'm from Brazil and I thought the project was really cool, how many Newtons did the linear actuator you used use?
I like it, you did a very sweet job dude.
I'm glad you like it
Hi, did the boat go any faster with the engine jacked higher?
Intro is 🔥🔥🔥
🙏🙏🙏🤜🏻
Where did you get the bearing brackets at? I'm looking at doing a tilt instead of trim and running it across top to hinge with the same setup
Its part of the 12mm rod assembly

Its a 9.9 hp. It it overkill for it. It should hold down a 25 hp the setup is still working like new
Is it still working? the ip rating on the actuator is 54 according to the listing
Yes still going strong

Using this in fresh or salt water ?
I am i fresh water
How are those actuators holding up in water?
still working fine
Drill and tap the baring housing for a great fitting if barings become an issue
Thats a good idea. Thanks

My actuator was the one the link. I used 1/4 inch plate
@@konerri thanks for the response. the actuator link is dead. It Just goes to an eBay page that says it can’t find the product.
OK fixed it. ebay.us/UNAGXl
Great job Bro!
Appreciate it!
Have you had any issues with it? looking to do the same on my jon boat!
its been on 4 trips and not a single issue. Just a little rust on the allen bolts but thats it. high recommend on the DIY chart
Nice idea. Parts list please.
In discripyon
Where did you order c channel from?
i got it from an online metals place. can't remember where.
What is the link for the faster actuator
Can you guys make a mount for your Hobie?? 😂😂
We can if we need it for an ouboard
* Do you run your boat with the motor lock down?
the lock was disabled. it help when you hit rock in shallow water.
Where is part 2? Lol ive completed part 1
Nice job, but I would get a faster motor.
new faster motor is already here.
@@OutofWORKoutdoors do you have a link for the faster motor?
Would you make another one an sell it to me
it will cost a good amount of money to do
