Smokey was a great singer and performer, he also had a command on his audience; he was loved. Freeport Grand Bahama, House of Loard's, Jokers Whild's, where he'd performed and I'd spent spent so many nights there in 1968-1969 filled with music and great memories. Thanks for sharing!

I lived in the Bahamas on a boat for 6 months in the mid 1980s. This song was on the radio daily, I couldn't get enough, used to listen for it and sing along with the chorus. It took me a while to find it here on TH-cam because all the other standard rhythm versions don't make it sound even remotely the same! Thanks for posting!
