- the red powder on the onions is Sumac (goes well with everything)
- the spicy taste is Aleppo pepper
- For Mante you're supposed to pour it in the red soup base & then the yoghurt on top so it absorbs the flavor

Hello Ladies! 👋 So fun watching you trying/enjoying Armenian food. 😊 You can try eating the kebab meats stuffed in the bread with the onion mix, any grilled veggies, pickles, peppers, sauce, salad, etc. The pale dip is roasted eggplant. Red dip is roasted red pepper with walnuts and pomegranate molasses to give it that tartness. For mantee (my fav) you can pour the tomato and yogurt sauce on it, and I add dried mint and sumac spice. You both seem like foodies and adventurous, so if you do go to Carousel or another Armenian spots, if you want to go up a level try kofta (football shaped stuffed ground beef balls), basterma (spicy cured beef) cheese borek, raw kofta beef, spinach borek and bulgur wheat rice instead of white rice. Bulgur is a bit more nutter. Yes, my American friends really like our meat flatbread lahmajun. If you are interested in getting some, let me know and I can recommend some places around LA. Happy Food Trails! 😋 😋 p.s. You are totally right, Koreans and Armenians have many cultural similarities, and I too have had Korean friends. I've got soooo hooked on KDramas, visiting 🇰🇷 and staying in a hanok is on my vacay list. 😁

You’re absolutely eating it correctly just digging in and enjoying the moment with loved ones that’s what it’s all about! One thing I would highly recommend is having a small glass of Oghie which is like a liquorice liquor.

monty can be eaten by itself, with yogurt, or in a soup (which I am guessing the red stuff is). however it seems a bit burnt though... as for the rice thing, that red stuff is meant to be used in the flat bread that came with it, same for the salat and the hummus.

I'm so happy right now that I'm an armenian😊, you eat the beef kebab with hummus or baba ghanuj and onion parsley sumac salad and the chicken with garlic dip and pickles, girls i love your appetite you too are sooo cute💋, the parsley tomato salad is called tabbuleh it means marinated the eggplant dip has the same meaning also, the yogurt drink is best with lahmajun and dolma, they also make tsaziki with some dishes like kibbeh, favabeans and rice with beef...

i am from Lebanon and YOU HAVE TO TRY LEBANESE FOOOODD
Please try arabic food, specially syrian, the purple powder on the onion is sumac, and the pink crunchy tangy side is turnip pickle as for the manti you should pour the sauces on top of it and eat with spoon, the spice in the salad is paprika, pilaf goes with the kebab, and hummus goes with beef or salad/tabbule, walnut and hummus is good with toasted pitta bread, you can get the walnut dip recipe from youtube, the ingredients are walnuts, red pepper paste, olive oil, cracker crumbs, onion, garlic, pomegranate molasses, alittle water & you grind them in the food prossessor
Afghani manti is different … we steam it in steamer. Sort of like dumplings but we put yogurt , veggies and split chickpeas

Omg it’s so yummy 🤤 the powder that they use to dressing the onion or cucumber 🥒 tomato 🍅 or any salad 🥗 or in anything lol 😂 it’s called sumac 👌🤤❤️👌⭐️👌si delicious 🤤 but there is also another one that is also delicious 🤤 the name is zaatar it’s good 👍🏼 on salads but it’s much better if u combined with olive oil mix it and eat it with the pita 🥙 bread so good 😊 but the secret for salads for me it’s the sumac lemon juice olive oil 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🥒🍅🥙🥗

I’m Armenian, and to be honest none of the food you tried are Armenian😄 there are much more traditional foods that are genuinely tasty and good but I guess it’s difficult to get the ingredients there. In Armenian traditional cuisine we don’t even have fried foods. Peta is not our bread, ours is Lavash, Matnaqash and so on. there is no such thing as “Armenian salad” it’s just called a Summer salad. Hummus is obviously not ours. Baklava (dessert) is not only Armenian it is known in many other countries. Mante is Ukranian if I’m not mistaken. Tan, the yoghurt drink might be the only “Armenian drink” but again, that is also debatable.From rice dishes we have the traditional Ghapama, which is rice with many ingredients in a pumpkin. So I hope one day you’ll be able to try authentic Armenian food and like it :)

The Manti first you arrange the dumplings in the plate the moment you're gonna eat it than you pour on it with your spoon some red sauce and some yogurt garlic sauce, and than you sprinkle some sumac or dried mint and you eat it with your spoon and enjoy

Yes the food is very similar to lebanese because tabbouli hummus eggplant vine leaves are lebanese but like lebanese and armenians mostly live in lebanon and the middle east so… looks amazing though enjoy🥰♥️
But there are different foods in lebanese you could try like kebbi and shawarma i heard of a lebanese home food place in LA called sunnin cafe if you wanna check it out

You are right ! It’s commonly used in armenia 🇦🇲 and paxlava called in armenia but it’s kinda similar to 70% . I love trying many type or baklavas ( paxlava ) and you can in LA
The yogurt drink is called taan the eggplant is called baba ganoush the parsley salad is called taboule and the red pepper on the other salad is red chili pepper powder btw i’m armenian lebanese 😁

You guys i suggest you to try, arabic meat pizza called lahmajun or sfiha, shawarma i think you should be knowing them, try armenian sausage, oriental rice with meat and nuts topped with gravy, try chicken kabsa, armenian shell pasta soup with shanks, arabic breakfast pizza, they have frogs with coriander sauce i like that and they make tasty whole grilled chicken and wings, and also the best is fried meat kibbeh which is bulgur meat dough stuffed with minced beef and pinenuts, meat stuffed eggplants with tomato sauce, meat stuffed zucchinis with yogurt soup, try fatteh for breakfast which is chickpeas, tahini sauce, fried pita, nuts, and melted fat on top, there's also chicken fatteh with rice., you can try dolma which is similar to stuffed grape leaves, but its zucchinis, peppers, cabbage, eggplants there's with beef and vegetarian version, try also keshk which is sun drief yogurt soup with minced beef, garlic and potatos, they have different types of stews. also try mloukhieh with chicken, arabic parsley omelette, potato omelette, shakshuka, fattoush salad, marinated fava bean, roasted chicken and potatoes, arabic meatloaf.
