Bkkersey93 ok well that’s not true, but even then rock is the most successful and musically best genre ever. Hands down, so much diversity and different sounds etc.
Back in the 70's it wasn't "Classic" Rock & Roll. It was just Rock & Roll or Rock. If you were into Rock more than likely you weren't into Disco. I hated Disco, the only two artists I would willingly listen to on this list would have been Rod Stewart (his early music) and Marvin Gaye. My parents were enjoying the other stuff, lol. Soul, R&B & Funk were also on my go to list and I was getting into some reggae. This list missed many of the greatest bands & solo artists of all time from the 70's. I loved all the sub genres of rock, ie: soft, hard, southern, progressive, glam, punk, heavy metal and plenty more. In my late 60's and still lucky to find bands that are making great music today. Samantha Gerbrandt, they said it was determined by Billboard based on how many weeks each song was the number 1 song on the charts. So each one was a number 1 song.
