The first pic of Adelaide station 1920, The Torrens river looks more like a little creek! The best pic was to me is of Semaphore. Its hard to believe that 132 years have past since then. I am old enough to remember traveling down Semaphore from Glanville in a set of 55 Brill railcars in the very early 1960s, later replaced permanently with Redhens. It was a real shame to have lost that rail service to Semaphore.
in steam train times ---i was a kid----fabulous fun-----windows ya could open and stick head out to pretend you train driver in western movie---but got bit of soot in eye after a while---but fun-----thanks for photos-----music ok too. xxxxx

@@rangertocpt true, but would be very nice if regional rail services were reintroduced. Especially to places such as Mount Gambier, Port Pirie, Victor Harbour, to name a few
Thanks Leslie. Do you have any photos of the old station at Kingston South East ? It's my old home town. Not sure when the line closed, but the last time I used it was in April '67, on my way to National Service call up.
Bowden and port Adelaide tough guy suburbs in 1950s----Henley beach not tough----trains ran to Henley until 1960---now only go to grange I hear-----I left Adelaide coz it too boring in 1960----Sydney more fun

Beautiful
By the late 60s and early 70s the dismantling of a great railway system had begun. You don't know what you've got till it's gone.
There are not many stations now.

Nice collection here Leslie. I was waiting for the Yongala station to appear at the end, but alas! A great video nevertheless
Pt Lincoln station (c1907) looks a little dire. Then you go to Pt Pirie (c1930) - what a beauty. Really enjoyed that, thank you.
Pleased that you enjoyed it.
Great video! I recently went hunting these old stations along the Peterborough line.
Thank you so much for this brilliant video; The music is lovely as well.

Good thing some of the stations still survive. Also, did you hear that the Burra station canopy over the track is getting rebuilt?
No, didn't know about it.
What? South Australia had a regional train service?

If only some of these lines and stations were reopened one day. Awesome video, the music goes very well with it 👍🎩
Our rail system has deteriorated. Not as good as our days.

No, Noel, I didn't find any of that station in my search when I put the program together.
WOW. Great. Bring back the SA rail network!
