How ironic that I am a Filipino but this Japanese song cover version of MaPa introduced me to SB19. However, I am thankful because I got intrigued by translating the lyrics which paved the way for me to get to know the boys on a deeper level. Now, I'm proud to say that I'm an A'TIN, and I will support SB19 hanggang sa huli. 💖
The exact same thing happened to me and I'm a bit ashamed that it took so long before i gave SB19 a chance and listen to their music but i'm just glad that I finally did. SB19 and their songs are just amazing, I love them so much.

to those who don't know, the title "MAPA" is actually like a play-on-words. in the Philippines, a lot of us call our parents mama (for mom) and papa (for dad) so when we call them together, it's usually "Ma, Pa". mapa is the filipino/tagalog word for map. so i really like the way sb19 and the producers wrote the lyrics of the song!!
anyways this is such a nice cover! i cried 😭 i like the way you translated it (although it's not the literal translations, i'm sure it's done to better fit the song) and how you sang it to how it originally is, and didn't do any major changes. it made it sound pure and real, if that makes any sense. and can we appreciate how he played and she sang the song in one go? 👏👏👏👏✨✨✨✨

Its about the mother and father who always did their best to raise their kid, and now the KID is an adult, he is using the life lessons from mother(eyes) and father(feet) like a MAP in life so he is telling them to stop worrying about him/her to put their self first or enjoy their life cause they already did their job

I'm a filipino and I feel guilty and ashamed that I heard this wholesome song first in this version (japanese). I thought SB19 was just a typical-tryhard-wanna-be-kpop-group but damn was I wrong! Immediately after watching this I searched for the original and damn I bawled like crazy, captivated all the words and emotion I want to express to my parents but for many reasons and past trauma, I can't seem to do that. Well done guys :)

Yeah this is the problem with us filipinos, you don't appreciate our very own filipino bands that has potential, until they're noticed internationally. Then if one recognizes them, they'll instantly turn into those overpoud filipino supporters that came out of nowhere.
I'm not saying that changing impression is a bad thing but of course if that's what they are to you at first then it should've stayed that way because changing impression of them just because they're being appreciated internationally sounds so pathetic and almost as disgusting honestly.
Edit: this just doesn't goes for our bands it can go for other different filipino aspects that are underappreciated.
