      @@RampleyandCoThis part is lot more controversial than the first one.
      Wool in summer:In 90 percent of the parts of sub continent if someone wear wool in summer then immediately everyone think that person as a Mad and just after five minutes the person will consider himself as a Mad.
      If you want to be global then you should've the knowledge about weather conditions all over the world because fashion is relies upon environment's temperature.
      I'll suggest visit The City of Palace Kolkata, you can visit The City of Joy at the time of Noboborso/ Bangla New year or in Durga Pujo.
      You have to expand your outfit knowledge even more via The City of Culture Kolkata, Bangla.

    I quite liked this segment, perhaps one of the best yet! Nice! Just as fashion styles change, I find myself more open to mixing it up when done with a thoughtful style approach as Austin well articulates such as what previously would be rejected such as sneakers/ trainers with tailored outfits. Ball caps though? Naw! Much prefer a cool ivy, trilby or even a beautiful Panama. Just classier. Next we'll be considering the dreadful ball cap on backwards or reversed and dumbed-down fedora look. Just lazy and never looks hip. Chris kills me; his interrogation of Austin is humorous as if he's the fashion barrister demanding proof. One note on suit jacket separates, agree it can work but one must be mindful of the slacks' fabric. And would love a future conversation on wearing or pairing linens "out of season." Chris commented once it's a modern construct to put them away after summer. I like that.

      Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the segment and Austin's insights on mixing styles. We'll definitely consider discussing linens "out of season" in a future video!

    The "baseball cap with tailoring" thing I see everywhere now so it's having its moment, why not? It'll be hated in 5 years but it'll be fun while it lasts

    Trainers only work with separates.
    Trainers don’t work with suits imo. You’re dressing down something that shouldn’t be dressed down.

      Thanks for your message but we enjoy wearing suits casually. The right sneakers look great with an unstructured summer suit. But agree I am more likely to do this with a summer blazer.

    I've been trying something lately: Doc Martens black shoes (not boots), Levi's jeans, stripe ocbd Ralph Lauren shirt with rolled up sleeves and a knit tie with just a bold windowpane waistcoat (no jacket)! What do you think? I feel great wearing it, especially when I put on a fedora. I consider it an interesting look and I love it. The look itself gives me confidence.

    In my opinion a baseball cap should be without a big logo or text if wearing it with a blazer. The style and material of the cap should complement the rest of the outfit. Think wool, cashmere or linen. A standard cotton cap with a logo looks cheesy with a blazer. I use Varsity wool caps myself sometimes with a blazer.

    Chris, at 5:15 when you discuss suit separates, what is your opinion and advice on the (Italian) spezzato tradition of breaking up two- and three-piece suits made from the same cloth in different colors? I have a number of identically styled 2-button notch-lapel two-piece MTM suits, all in the same midweight worsted fabric (with the most subtle of hatched variations), in the full spectrum of greys from black through charcoal and midtones to a light dove grey, plus a charcoal brown. With sufficient contrast between jacket and trousers, can I mix and match these stylishly as separates? If I have similar suits in cavalry twill, does your same advice hold? Thank you for the benefit of your expertise. I enjoyed this video. Respect and regards, Christian

    • @chrismodoo6563
      @chrismodoo6563 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Thanks for question.
      As your suits are same cloth but different shades they might not have enough contrast.
      But cavalry twill is a great cloth for separates as it is often used for odd trousers.
      And as for the “Italian tradition”…it is not something I have encountered in my numerous trips to Florence, Milan, Como etc over the last 20+ years.
      I have been known to add a vest from another suit but generally I will mix suits with blazers and odd trousers rather than other suits.

    I can’t find anywhere that sells grey flannel dress pants here in New Zealand, I can only find grey cotton dress pants and worsted wool suit pants. Buying flannel pants online from overseas is really expensive to the point it’s like 3 times the price of dress pants located domestically. Can I wear medium grey worsted wool suit trousers as odd trousers with a sports jacket?

    • @JakeSmith-jy1kx
      @JakeSmith-jy1kx หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Oftentimes people will buy more than one pair of trousers with their suits so they can wear them both with blazers and because they will wear at a different pace than the jacket. Pants are easy to separate out.

    • @chrismodoo6563
      @chrismodoo6563 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s a shame. Look for plain weave, hopsack or tropical worsted suit trousers or something with a milled finish.

      What cloths and/or clothing would you suggest?
      I have worn wool in some quite warm places around the globe.
      My friends in the cloth industry sell a lot of wool to countries where the temperatures are a lot higher than U.K.

      @@chrismodoo6563 Hi, I'm Sufal. Live in southern Asia, specifically my country have water in three sides out of four. My City is based on Ganga River. Because of the global warming temperature are rising all over the world which is"normal"but especially eastern globe suffering the most. on 29 May, 2024 reported an unprecedented temperature of 52.9 degrees Celsius in Delhi's Mungeshpur area, claiming it to be the highest ever recorded in this piece of land and the whole nation isn't a desert ( Yet). In coastal areas the heat even felt more coz of humidity. 😄 Google always shows two stats- temperature is 'X'C and Feels like 'Y'C( bcoz of humidity in general feels 10 degrees C higher than the actual temperature).
      Of course people( even me)wear woollen stuff in Bharat but in winter{in general(mostly)}; Btw, winter means 9/10 degree C the lowest in Kolkata.
      And pls keep in mind _ there's two India living in Bharat- one are 'those people who live majority of their day in air conditioned space across seasons' and the other are 'like for them AC machine and Air conditioned places are luxury for them_ many can't afford'.
      I like classical style like with jackets and wool as fabric but here's very little season period where I can dress like this. My nation is mainly summer seasoned country ( unfortunately). Personally Like layering and always try to layer even in summers but it's hard to pull off.
      For southern Asia and for middle eastern countries: specially Linen for summers and cotton(Woven/knitted)for all seasons will recommended. Summer specific wool can be carried if you're living your life in artificially maintained temperature in south Asia and in middle east. Remember- this things aren't applicable to places like Kashmir, Darjeeling ETC.
      Traditional wear like Punjabi/Kurta are recommended even for daily wear with Pyjama. Sherwani is a great option for special occasions like wedding. Nehru jacket is a option for layering with such garments occasionally.
      Of course you'll agree _ fashion/styles should be according to season/weather's temperature or else the outfits will look odd and the garments can/will be uncomfortable/ burden.
      Visit Kolkata, enjoy Tram and The festival like Durga Pujo at the City of Joy in Autumn. Try Darjeeling Tea and Ride Toy train with Kanchanjangha. Roam around the streets of The City of Culture and spend some time in Coffee House with your mates and do debate over politics with Charminar in your finger. 😏See what dress code Bangalis are carrying in those three _ four/Five days of Durga Pujo in The City of Palace.

      Hi Sufal
      Thank you for your very detailed and specific response.
      The extreme temperatures you describe are very challenging and your choices are interesting and gratefully received.
      But I still believe passionately that wool is a summer fabric.

      @@chrismodoo6563 by the way, are you aware of Khadi? Cotton Khadi fabric is great for summer and Woolen Khadi is also available in market as you prefer wool.
      Did you ever tried Punjabi/Kurta with Pyjama and Sherwani! Nehru jacket will look good with solid/plain Punjabi in Autumn- spring.
      All the best👍🏼

    I generally don’t wear sneakers but they do have a purpose. However, they are not proper with a suit.
    Dress sneakers are an oxymoron. They are the Frankenstein of men shoes.
    I don’t like baseball caps and hate seeing people in restaurants wearing them. The only place baseball caps are proper is at a baseball game.
