I have been using my walking tractors for 7 years now. Versatile, you bet! For the person who owns 4 acres or less they are a very viable "way to go". I own the rotary plow, tiller, 5' sickle bar mower, 5' hay rake/tedder, the small baler, driven wheel trailer, brush hog, finish mower, CAEB dump cart, a "powered wheel barrow", chipper/shredder, and power harrow. Rent or hire your land clearing job and then get to farming with your walking tractor! Everything is built so that it should last your lifetime! As Joel at Earthtools says "farm with your feet on the ground!"
Of all the small machines that I have bought to help me get more done on my small farm, this is the only one I regret buying. It's a terrible tiller, and, while it is about 10 times as expensive as my Mantis, I'm not sure it's any better. On the other hand, using the BCS takes an extraordinary amount of physical strength and effort compared to the Mantis! (Also, if anybody is looking to buy a relative new BCS tractor with an old tiller attachment, please, let me know.)
I don’t know man… Sure they are spendy but also quality. My BCS tiller tills way better than the Husqvarna rear tine we’ve got especially if the soil is wet. And I’ve never been around a two stage snowblower that’s as good as the single stage BCS snowblower I’ve got…
522 bwaaa do that in the field in the rain n mud. Took forever to align 660 to flail. Had to use a ratchet strap to snug up the dogs on slow attach. Square dogs?? Shoud b a spline conical drive.
