Nice vid! I totally agree with your buying decisions pros & cons. I too bought a '23 KTM 890 Adventure and also looking for possibly a suspension re-valve.
A LOT of 890 owners are looking for suspension fixes. After all the reviews and tests on the bike said it was the 'best ever"............My 890R is way harsh, way worse than my stock 21 690 enduro.
If your 90% in the dirt, beg or borrow a ride on a late model 690 Enduro. I got a 2021. The suspension is if anything on the softly damped and sprung side. WAY better than my 2021 890R. Lots more fun on any kind of dirt, who needs a 470 lb bike on dirt?
So, it looks like you upgraded your S model to R suspension with low kit… I have S and facing same doubts. Trying to understand is it better to upgrade current forks with new cartridges or R suspension with low kit.
R suspension needs MAJOR work, it is harsh as F. I would not buy it. Ive put 20,000 miles on an R. Now Ive bought a Tractive shock and trying to make it work.
You should have just upgraded to a Tractive rear shock and cartridge. Much better than the mediocre wp oem stuff and probably cheaper too. First you buy 240mm suspension and then you lower it which costs even more money. Not the right way to go😂
@@MichauxOutdoors Where Im at with my 890R, is I use it on the street and bought a 690 enduro. I got a tractive rear shock for the 890 and it was as bad or worse than the stock shock. For 1700.00. The tractive extreme shock. I dunno why that is, but now they have revalved the extreme and are sending it back to me. Why should it need a revalve? It was built just for my bike and my weight. I kinda wish I had simply sold the bike. The magazines and reviewers either lied about the 890R or they had special bikes to ride.
@@bradsanders6954it can be plush on all using the clickers on the forks, but works best when dialed into the terrain your riding, the shock with its high and low speed adj can be set and forget, that made a huge improvement
@@54zk This is what Ive heard from tractive users, then I get the tractive extreme shock..............and its harsher than stock by a ways. No plush no matter the clicker setting. @ 1700.00 per shock..............they have revalved it and its coming back to me now. I really hope it can be made to work................my stock 2021 690 is if anything soft on damping and spring, but rides very comfortable. easy bike to do 400 miles on. Thanks for the reply.

Interesting video (along with the first one). Did the upgrade solve the issue? How much is the seat height affected?

So help me out. Which Tractive rear shock do you recommend and why? What would you do with the front forks which was my primary concern?

Get the TracTive Extreme, you wont regret it
Yeah, others have made this suggestion. Appreciate the inputs.
Did yours really work? On an 890? Like is it plush on sharp bumps at all speeds?
Comfortable all day?
