The way I see it, this theme is how Reimu see herself and the world. Maiden's Cappricio is how others, especially her opponents, see Reimu.

Well Reimu is sedate probably because she has a reason to be. She has how many friends and allies now? She is still powerful and getting even stronger. And Yukari probably wouldn't allow her death anyways until she finds another miko to fill in for Reimu.
Would Yukari do that? Yukari is also fully capable of handling the barrier and the incidents ya know?

Not by herself, take the Perfect Possession Incident as an example, she had to get information from literally everyone else who fought Joon and Shion just to get an idea on how to beat them.

This song complimented my first pharmahuasca experience so well it's like your beautiful lyrics are transcribed from the pattern of the universe itself.

Also, I wanted to say I hope I didn't stress you by implying I wanted super direct translations. I mean I would like it to be direct, but I know that translation is subjective best when not totally literal, like if you need to eliminate filler words to make the same idea come across better in the new language, even when the goal isn't to adapt it into a new piece of singable art. So just saying I won't be mad at things like that if it's necessary or makes it easier for you at any point!
Good to know. And don't worry, it would have been WAY harder if you asked me to keep the rhymes. Right now, I have translated up to Flowering Night, but I think one video a day is a pretty nice pace, wouldn't you agree?

After playing Phantasmagoria a bit... yeah, the lyrics perfectly describe my experience with this good game. Sure, it pisses me off getting four stocked by Eiki or not paying attention to where I dodge or activate an L2 the exact frame I get hit by a bullet, but I always come back to it! No matter how fast I blaze through the stages or slowly I pass through S8 Komachi, I'm bound to reach the end and beat Eiki once and for all; my life then returns to normal -- whatever that may be nowadays.
Four stocked...I'm using that terminology in Phantasmagoria games now, too. Or, is that what it would actually be called? Are the VS games fighting games??
This is spot on Reimu.
This song is pretty spot on for Reium. The slowness of it, that sedated feeling ZUN describes. How the lyrics say "Sweeping up my necessary sins". Reimu carefree and detached nature might very well her unconscious self keeping her in a dissociated/sedated regarding the fact that she has to regularly kill youkais. Not just solve incidentes with damnakus (some of which can get world ending scale on regular basis) but also literally exterminate youkais who break the rules (such as fortune teller man, may god keep him in his grace). She's just a girl carrying all that weight and a natural response to that is to dissociate.
