    Kudos to the people who designed and built it back in 1996. Have to say one of the best set ups I've seen on you tube.

      All the credit goes to my dad and his friend. There was definitely some deep planning and a lot of welding and long days that went into building it!

    Well good information😊 to share with us. Our handling system is small but similar to your system. Liked the separating alleyway.

    Wow! Outstanding design! It’s nice that you have multiple options to manage just about any situation that arises. I’ve seen overhead walkways but your walkway around the parameter is a great idea. You have yourselves a real nice ranch! 🦬

    Could you use a "tub system" for holding the animals? That only lets them come in single file?

    How did you pinch the ends of the drill pipe to weld them between posts?

    • @coppercreekranch466
      @coppercreekranch466  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We have a crimping machine that we built that runs off of the hydraulics on a tractor. Private message us on our facebook page and I can send you more info and pictures of it!

    Thanks for sharing your handling system. I just started following you. What are your fences like in the pastures? Keep the videos coming.

      Thanks for watching! Our fences are all 8 foot page wire, you should be able to see the fences in the videos.

    What size bison herd and how many acres do you recommend to start? I've heard 12 head minimum and 50 acres. And do you think you could start by rendting vs owning the land?

    • @coppercreekranch466
      @coppercreekranch466  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bison are herd animals so at least 10 to start. 50 acres should be enough but of course the more space the better. Owning land is always the better option as land will appreciate over time

    so you guys have to bring the bison up by truck for the chutes and to process, the system isn't part of a pasture where you can just drive them up, pen them and run them thru? excellent system, you CANNOT over build a handling facility for a 2800 lb. bull

    • @coppercreekranch466
      @coppercreekranch466  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the system is connected to our pastures, we can catch them up in a smaller pen outside if the corrals and then bring them into the corrals in small groups at a time. It works very well!
