When it comes to mewing, yeah it may be going viral, but my vocal coach a few years back suggested it to me as a good technique to actually improve my singing voice - it has the ability to expand the volume of your mouth and the volume can be a factor whether or not your singing voice sounds "big" and "open". She is an educated musician, with lots of anatomical knowledge, and also a former opera singer in her late 50's so I wouldn't suspect her for following what's trendy or viral at the moment. I think it can really make a difference, especially if you do not do any other vocal exercises (speaking or singing) and/or were mouth breathing for a long time.

The shape of the upper palette affects the sound of the voice as well. The voice resonates on the palette before it exits the mouth. The palette shape and density determines the sound produced
The way to gently press the tounge against the "roof" of the mouth is teached in tai chi also, so the knowledge is hundreds of years old (at least). It's not really pressing (maybe in the beginning) but once one gets used to it, it's more like a resting position. And after some martial arts application training it will make perfect sense to you to slightly close the teeths and get the tounge out of their biting range. xD Plus the health bonus (mouth breathing, better teeth health due to more salvia etc.) it's definitly worth giving it a go! Interessting to hear that it can/will also improve your singing voice!
Definitely looks better. Especially considering you are bulking. You can see that you have a bit more fat on your face, but despite that your jaw still looks moore defined and stronger than before.
Hey Pigmie love the videos! Just wondering if you would be interested in making a video ‘progressive overloading only compound exercises for a week’ or something like that as I would be very curious to see the results. it’s meant to be a secret for muscle growth, no isolation movements just the compound lifts.
It will take way longer than a week to see any noticeable results. More like 8-12 weeks, maybe a minimum of 6, to be able to compare it to a "regular" workout routine which also includes isolation movements. In addition, you need to account for the muscle growth that would have happened over that time with the regular training anyway
@@KetoKookin in my case I saw changes starting after 2 weeks. U cant compare it to a muscle training cuz its a bone vs muscle and mewing u do for a much longer (constant) period ... and yes my maxilla is wider now, not only mucle structure was changed
MEWING DEFINITELY WORKS FOLKS!!! I discovered mewing at 24, at that time I have a very recessed maxilla, sucken eyes with eye wrinkle, a dented chin, teeth gaps, and a protruding mouth. I was definitely ugly which causes my anxiety to be an introvert and a room nerd because of my appearance. 😢 My surprise is after 1 year of mewing I started seeing positive changes like my sucken eyes started to fill up, wrinkles on the eyes are almost getting disappeared, teeth gaps are closing, my chin has moved a little forward, my nose is now very defined. I'm definitely happy that I found out about mewing and it has changed my life and makes me to like myself more and boost my confidence as well. I look a lot better than 1 year ago. 😊 Age is not really a factor to see mewing results, all that matters is dedication and better tongue pressure (the older you are). Don't quit just because you didn't see quick results, it takes time and I think you will start to see results in six months mark and the result will be very visible in a year. Can't wait how I'm going to look in the coming years.🥰 DEDICATION IS THE KEY GOOD LUCK FOLKS!!!

Everyone benefits from nasal breathing… its the only correct way to breath mouth breathing is unhealthy and causes long term irreversible effects. More so in early development in children. Theres so much controversy with “mewing” its literally the only correct way to breath

@pigmie Hey! Just feels right letting you know that during the yogic path, it's very common and almost expected after some years of practice, to start waking up around 3/4 AM (or after 4-5 hours of sleep). As the body becomes more aligned and more efficient, and the mind becomes more quiet, there is less waste of energy throughout the day. Also the hours before sunrise are traditionally considered a very good time for meditation: so waking up then lets you dedicate some time to that. Afterwards one can go back to sleep for a few hours, or continue with their day, depending on personal energy needs. Your dedication to experimenting first hand a myriad of techniques, both physical and mental, might have brought a "yogic" sleep schedule to you, where after a few hours of sleep, one naturally wakes up feeling very alert and awake, in the middle of the night. Nothing to be worried about or to try and fix! You can try some visualisation exercises or focusing on the breath, even while lying in bed, during that time! Good luck and thanks for your effort in striving to give people objective information based on personal experience!
I'm trying to do mewing while watching your video. My tongue is tired. I'm such a weenie. 😐 You motivated me though, so I'm going to give this a shot. Thank you!
The difference between the two side by side comparisons at 8:40 is that the left shot is narrower than the right shot. It's like you have stretched the video width-wise by 15-20% on the 'after'. This makes your jaw look longer and fuller and your neck and head is thicker as well. I can hold a tape measure up to my screen and see the obvious difference. Seems disingenuous.
I've always been a mouth breather and I still have a good jawline 😁 having said I started with mewing few months ago and I'm not doing just for the better looking face but also for health reasons it has more health benefits than people think
People don't talk about the difference between the microbiome in the nasal tract vs. the oral. That's what causes the immunity issues when mouth breathing.
@@ItsMeChillTyme Lung issues too. If you eat healthy (anti-oxidant rich foods), your lungs have some defenses to help prevent asthma, cancer, and other lung degradation in function but when you don't have to breath heavy (such as exercising) you might as well get the extra protection of nose breathing.

😂Love this!! Thank you for sharing your journey! As a mom of 4, I’m trying to instill this practice in my 25, 19, 17, 13 yr. old kids because all 3 of my sons are tongue tied which causes mouth breathing and lazy tongues. None of them have speech issues and they all have handsome jaw lines, but for sleep, posture, longevity etc. mewing just makes sense. The neck posture correction is also a big plus. I’ll show them this and I know it will help them. My oldest is an attorney, and when she’s super engaged in thought, I’m pretty sure that mouth is slightly open. So that point is helpful too. Knowing is half the battle! ❤❤❤
Being a mostly silent type, I tend to do the tongue and jaw action as a matter of course. But having thought about it after watching your video, I think it's the lip action that toned your cheeks, because I let my lips just hang and show a little chiklets, which may be why I still have baby cheeks at 47yo.
@@rbrz Sorry I don't English very well. I've struggled with it my entire life. If you could point out the parts you didn't understand, I can make efforts to better my English. Unless you're a whatter. If so, then just fuck off!
Face can change daily due to bloating, hydration, skin condition, how rested or tired are you etc. For 100 days the difference is to subtle to be anything related to mewing, especially considering you do SO MUCH other stuff. Also the pics are from different angles and your haircut is a bit different too.
Another difference I see in your before and after is between day 1 and day 30 profile is more lip definition. In day 1 it is a flat vertical from the nose to the bottom lip, then it bends inwards under the bottom lip before rounding out for your chin. In the day 30 there is an angle for the top lip right under the nose, and the inwards bend under your bottom lip is more rounded. Looking at both days with your head more straight on I do feel like the lips from day 30 are more pronounced. Unfortunately you did not have a profile for day 100 to really compare. Love your videos, keep them coming!
Mewing is actually meant to be a preventative measure and not a cure. Mewing is to make sure you don’t get a recessed jawline. The tongue guides your teeth during the FORMATIVE years of your life. Super interesting though
As someone who's been constantly mewing for almost 4 years, I gotta tell u guys, the actual bone change will take a lot of time, BUT, if you do it right and you don't have any extreme facial development problems or too much body fat you'll some results on the soft tissue (muscles, skin) . This guy's face was already well developed, but for cases like mine with a recessed chin, it's taken me years to see improvements, yes it DOES work, keep it up 24/7
Thought mewing was stupid. But when he said it helped him nose breath through his sleep it sold me. Because that is something I’ve been working on for a while.
Mewing takes at least 10 years to see a change. We need to stop giving the expectation it takes a few months to see good changes. Good on you spreading this message but try to give the right expectations man. Its already bad as it is seeing younger folks thinking it will take a few months to get a dramatic change. This is why people call it a scam or debunked there has not been enough people come forward whos done this for a decade sadly. Im one but we need more ( dr mew is another)
It only works for kids and teens, if you're an adult don't waste your time. The thing that actually makes a difference in young developing faces is mouth breathing vs nose breathing and its already been researched.
@@drqgoss4361 Braces and expanders work by applying constant pressure to move teeth or widen the palate. Mewing doesn't apply enough force to change bone structure like braces do. Research shows that mouth breathing can negatively affect facial development in children and teenagers, but once you're an adult, your bone structure is already set.
@@drqgoss4361 You're trolling right? Mewing simply doesn't apply enough force. Braces apply so much constant force that it causes pain. There are no examples of mewing working for adults, only teens and children - even then, its not mewing that changes facial development but actually mouth breathing vs nose breathing, its very well researched.
If you have any subconsious oral habit, like licking or biting your lips, mewing helps stop! Basically it gives you something to do instead with your mouth.
The mewing position with the suction has been my natural oral posture my entire life and I can’t tell you how much damage it’s causing after 30 years. I wake up in the mornings with the strongest vacuum sealed tongue with my teeth clenched together and it has given me cracked teeth, sore neck muscles, a blocked ear sensation and massive discomfort in my entire head if my oral posture is off for even a second.
Mewing works, but not in 100 days. Not to this degree. He just tilted his head up and forward in the thumbnail. You can judge by eyebrows and ears. Mewing DOES work. I measure my progress by seeing how many fingers I can fit below my chin in a chin tuck. I went from 2 to 3.5 in 16 months and I'm only 21. I heard that the jawbone keeps growing until 25 then it slows down much more. This takes a long time, a lot of consistency and awareness but it's definitely worth it.
I believe it also encourages to breath more through your nose, and can improve your resistance to sickness as a result (since you're nose has a a filter.
Turns out I have beed doing mewing my entire life... To be completely honest, I am not that sure about the results, but if it looks like it is helping you, go for it! 💪

Pigmie I know you probably didn't see my comment where I criticized you for for putting in way too less time in to your testing, but i am excited to see the results in this video where you have tested it better!
I think it's not in your head, you likely did indeed get some slight bite alignment and structural improvements, especially if they're still noticeable despite putting on 10 pounds
This is cool. I had never heard of this and clicked to see what it is. Turns out that it is my natural position of tongue and jaw. I've been doing this without knowing. I have a really strong jawline and high cheekbones but sadly its a bit lost at the moment due to me being a lardarse.
I've been doing this for decades, simply because I would get a dry throat if I didn't breathe through the nose, resulting in a sore throat. I had no idea about other effects and to be honest, I'm not really sure it DID have other effects.
I am 60 and have been mewing for so long it's become natural even when exercising, I mew as I'm going to sleep which seems to be very effective. At my age my other old friends have issues with moving teeth, that's why you see some old people with retainers and even braces, mewing stops the issue.
LOL! You're my Obsession! Meeeee Meeee. I get it, I have an overbite and learned to hold my jaw slightly pushed forward, just a little forward of my top teeth. Also, as I am 72 years old I find I have to work to sit up straight , watch that neck to keep it in line with that straighten back.
From what i noted in your before and 100 day after, your jaw is a bit more straight right around the earlobe by about 2 degrees and ur cheekbones are a bit more pronounced. Myself mewing unknowingly my whole life I've always had a strong jawline; so I'm another guy with anecdotal evidence to add to our pile.
I have always been mewing (just didn't know it had a name or wasn't something everyone did), so I have this one thing to add to the video, I breath through the mouth when I exercise. And since I've been mewing by default, maybe you're just not supposed to be mewing when you exercise. Just a guess.
Because it's bullshit. Have you ever had braces on your teeth for correction? It takes A LOT of physical force to actually move the bones around. Your tongue is too weak to change soft tissues and structure of your bones. The best way to improve your facial structure is to lose weight because excess fat on your face softens the hard edges of your skull.
What is looks like is that your facial muscles went through some hypertrophy & that gave your face some more definition. I just recently started mewing. Not sure if I’ve noticed any facial changes yet, but it definitely has an effect on your breathing.

@SILVEto I have the same issues. I agree mental health plays a massive part in jaw issues, I noticed on days where I'm anxious my jaw is always destroyed by the end of the day.
I've been mewing for about three weeks and I've noticed progress in my jawline becoming sharper. All you need to do is be consistent, chew gum, and always breathe through your nose.
That's me in the profile picture, and I took that picture on my iPad. That's why I appear bigger than I actually am.

@@Orestes-e7o Thanks; that means a lot.
Thanks for sharing
Agreed anything trendy I stay away from. I've been doing this as well without knowing. Now it has a name.

Its called ,,Korte,, and its not a secret 😅
@@matusjurcik6974 yh ik just tryna get attention ty anyway bro
It will take way longer than a week to see any noticeable results. More like 8-12 weeks, maybe a minimum of 6, to be able to compare it to a "regular" workout routine which also includes isolation movements. In addition, you need to account for the muscle growth that would have happened over that time with the regular training anyway
@@KetoKookin yh true depending on how long he trains compounds a week usually
My surprise is after 1 year of mewing I started seeing positive changes like my sucken eyes started to fill up, wrinkles on the eyes are almost getting disappeared, teeth gaps are closing, my chin has moved a little forward, my nose is now very defined. I'm definitely happy that I found out about mewing and it has changed my life and makes me to like myself more and boost my confidence as well. I look a lot better than 1 year ago. 😊
Age is not really a factor to see mewing results, all that matters is dedication and better tongue pressure (the older you are).
Don't quit just because you didn't see quick results, it takes time and I think you will start to see results in six months mark and the result will be very visible in a year. Can't wait how I'm going to look in the coming years.🥰
DEDICATION IS THE KEY
GOOD LUCK FOLKS!!!

I noticed a difference right when i clicked on the video. You're cheekbones look a lot more prominent now! Good work.
Mewing is much more effective for people who are naturally mouth-breathers [sic] that's why some of you say you've been doing it your whole life and have no effect. That's just the correct tongue posture. If you want results you probably need to hard mew.
There are no naturally mouthbreathers...
Everyone benefits from nasal breathing… its the only correct way to breath mouth breathing is unhealthy and causes long term irreversible effects. More so in early development in children. Theres so much controversy with “mewing” its literally the only correct way to breath

Very interesting! i can definitely see the difference. Also, I just learned I've been "mewing" my whole life without knowing it was called something special LOL
Well, mewing is what everybody is supposed to be doing throughout their entire life! That's why those folk who maintain their bad habit of breathing through their mouth end up having a underdeveloped jaw.
It's only special for those who didn't do it, just like being healthy is special for the sick

I see a difference in your jaw and cheeks, and even your eyes. You mentioned being 10# heavier in the after, but to me it looks like you were heavier in the before, at your cheeks, glad you stated that, because I might have thought maybe you lost weight.
Ive said in the past my tongue was too large for my mouth, wondering now if it was because I was slack jaw; looking forward to being diligent about mewing.
Thanks for your video with visual results. Its definitely working, you look good.
@pigmie
Hey!
Insightful, thanks for sharing! Brahma muhurta is the term for what you describe if others are curious.
yep. im pretty sure it's called biphasic sleep. i've heard it's the natural way to sleep.

I'm trying to do mewing while watching your video. My tongue is tired. I'm such a weenie. 😐 You motivated me though, so I'm going to give this a shot. Thank you!
I've been doing it for 10 minutes and my whole face is sore 😅
I've been mewing for over a year now and I have in fact made very noticeable changes. ❤
how old?
@@dalatrade Started at 15 but starting young does effect you more than if you started older.
Yes, there is difference in definition 🤗 Thank you!
I definitely see the difference too!! Very impressive!!
Mouth-taping with Hostage tape while you sleep really helps maintain the sleep mew. Bonus: morning breath virtually disappears
It's all fun till the Mucus comes during the night
Looking forwards to the results when you're actually gonna cut down again man.
Great vid as always!!

Face can change daily due to bloating, hydration, skin condition, how rested or tired are you etc.
For 100 days the difference is to subtle to be anything related to mewing, especially considering you do SO MUCH other stuff. Also the pics are from different angles and your haircut is a bit different too.
That's true, but if he continues this long term then other influences on his face's appearance should be minimized
Its pretty hard to deny that his cheeks do look a bit hollowed out while he also gained 10 lbs
I haven't watched your videos in months and i came back to a different guy. WTF! Who is this guy?
Mewing is actually meant to be a preventative measure and not a cure. Mewing is to make sure you don’t get a recessed jawline. The tongue guides your teeth during the FORMATIVE years of your life. Super interesting though

Is this suppose to be a hate comment?
As someone who's been constantly mewing for almost 4 years, I gotta tell u guys, the actual bone change will take a lot of time, BUT, if you do it right and you don't have any extreme facial development problems or too much body fat you'll some results on the soft tissue (muscles, skin) .
This guy's face was already well developed, but for cases like mine with a recessed chin, it's taken me years to see improvements, yes it DOES work, keep it up 24/7
its not going to change your bone structure you sheep
Thought mewing was stupid. But when he said it helped him nose breath through his sleep it sold me. Because that is something I’ve been working on for a while.
Hi, thanks for the video! You should research “mouth taping”, that along with mewing will probably make your sleep much better.
I don't know your name but this is one of the best mewing videos I have seen. Do make contact Prof John Mew.

This is cool. I had never heard of this and clicked to see what it is. Turns out that it is my natural position of tongue and jaw. I've been doing this without knowing. I have a really strong jawline and high cheekbones but sadly its a bit lost at the moment due to me being a lardarse.
Thanks for doing this over a longer time period!
Pigmie can you make 30 days passing ice cubes on the face? i saw studies that comproves the efficiency of this for the quality of skin
Been doing this unknowingly for years, feels so natural doing it.
When you start cutting, you will see a huge difference. Good job💪
Thanks for the video! You're cool!!
You absolutely changed your face bro
Really?
Damn Lucas, looks maxing is working really well for you, that hairstyle is also a very nice choice!
I have always been mewing (just didn't know it had a name or wasn't something everyone did), so I have this one thing to add to the video, I breath through the mouth when I exercise. And since I've been mewing by default, maybe you're just not supposed to be mewing when you exercise. Just a guess.
I just don't know how to start mewing, like how to literally make my tongue stay against the roof of my mouth without it getting tired.
Because it's bullshit. Have you ever had braces on your teeth for correction? It takes A LOT of physical force to actually move the bones around. Your tongue is too weak to change soft tissues and structure of your bones.
The best way to improve your facial structure is to lose weight because excess fat on your face softens the hard edges of your skull.
lol you’re so funny 😂 great video!
What is looks like is that your facial muscles went through some hypertrophy & that gave your face some more definition.
