The instructions in this video apply to pretty much every Trainz simulator version since 2006. The operation of Surveyor has not really changed much over the years. I am using Trainz 2012, and it is virtually the same as 2006. That's cool because you don't have to re-learn a new interface with every new version of the simulator. Once you know it, you are good to go.

Yeah, I was late to the party. I should have said, "It all started 'for me' with TRS2006." I think there may have been a Trainz before 2004, but not really sure on that one.
NJP I think it actually started with PreSP3 Trainz.
This is a good tutorial for people who are just starting out with any version of Trainz, although there are some different tools added to this version
TS12 SP1 finally has a freaking straighten spline tool instead of forcing us to go to the track-tool to straighten splines.
Honestly in a decade and a half I'm surprised they still hadn't added that.

This is so useful for some of the more advanced stuff!
Tunnels are fairly simple, if you have the UKBL "Westwood Tunnel Pack". It's just a mater of assembling them (though curved Tunnels can be tricky).
Brings back memories from Trainz 2010.
@Gagarin 001 as much as I like Trainz 12, TS2010 had the Harlem line(and I’m a big Metro north fan, so that took the crown)

to zoom in press the page down button and to zoo out press the page down button and you can also use the mouse wheel

@Keri9455, go to the buildings menu, then click splines, search for road. you will get a list of them around there in that menu. There are loads of them.

Hi, I got Trainz 2006. I want to add a hill so the train goes up the hill then crosses a bridge. I want to add this to one of the maps that came with the game. Can you make a video how this is done from a flat surface going up and creating a gap for the bridge. thanks
how to make a Schedule?
You must go to the Edit session rules. Then click add. After that find schedule rule. Finally you click the schedule rule and click edit. Now use trackmarks or Stations to make the schedule.
Reasons why Railworks is better,
1. It is more detailed
2.you have more of a variety of grasses
3. you can buy it from walmart for 20 bucks
4. you can have bigger tracks

How do I make 4 lane roads that have cars actually USE all four lanes? I've seen the video bnsf50 made but it didn't do me much good. Considering I'm trying to get back on track (no pun intended) after leaving Trainz for two-three years or something like that this is not easy. Although I don't think I've EVER figured out this issue come to think of it.....
Trainz is 39.99 dollars and trains for train simulator 2014 are anywhere from 8-40 (the 40 is the A4 pack)

Actually, i like both, but more grass is more realism, and it has more of a shopping factor to get more locos with all different cabs every time! Trainz reuses cabs like the class 37's cabs are the 08 shunter/ 13 masers, which isnt the case in real life.
i make my own trainz map since yesterday. hehe it´s really awesome, you can do what ever you want:-) i decided to riase up a big north american forest like in canada, with everything you can imagine. i hope i can download some new mods for it
This is why trainz12 is better than Railworks12
1: the rout making is way easer so much better
2: The train driving is fun and also easy
3: u have more trains to choose from
4: you dont have to buy a 40$ Train from steam

It hurts my brain when I see people's routes with non-functioning crossing gates. It's like only me an another few people know how to properly wire them. NV3, please do a tutorial on how to wire crossing signals.

@luciferminusone Unfortunately most trains (in my country at least) do not have a 'cruise control' system in real life and it is nearly impossible to get them to travel at constant speeds so drivers tend to go on and off the throttle to keep at a reasonable speed. Because of this its only natural that 'realistic mode' follows this too.

Easy, go to auran.com then to the store,buy the program,not expensive,then download and save to harddrive,be sure to use good broadband connection as is a large file.Hope this helps

Go to where it says “track objects” and look for “track end” or “buffers” or something related to them and place them on the end of a track like a siding or a wye, a section of track used to turn a locomotive around without having to use a turntable.
