    Don't be scared. When they're gone, new crows will be taking over and you'll befriend them too. Probably easier than the first time since you're already a known entity in the community. You'll get to see new personalities, new wonders and the cycle will continue. Regardless, Kräri and Kruu will probably stick around for many years still.

    It has been enriching watching your growing friendship with these rascals.
    I didn't realize that it took that many years to gain their trust.

      Someone who watched me on my balcony with my crows said: "These are the most distrustful ones of all animals." I guess that is at least close to the truth. They are insanely skittish. 🖤

    It takes years sometimes to gain the trust of crows. The most important part is to be consistent in your own behavior so that you will never surprise them. Placing food closer and closer to yourself without looking at them like you do is the best way to gain trust.

      During our getting to know phase I put better food (cashews) closer to me. So noone has to stay hungry, they just have to be brave if they want the better food. And they so much want the better food... 😆

    I found your channel when I started feeding hooded crows in my local park and wanted to know more about them. Your vids were a great help for understanding their behavior! Now, two years later I can proudly say that I befriended them, they recognise me and fly over when I enter the park. Also two of them take food from my hand now and I couldn't be happier! I wish you and your feathered friends all the best!

    The jackdaw (here in your video) is a very gregarious and intelligent bird, unfortunately in the British countryside the farmers are angry after they have sown a field of corn and it starts to grow, they resort to shooting the poor thing and hanging their bodies up on some branch of a tree to ward off other crows. It's rare to come across someone like yourself with a deep fondness for this species!

    • @KrariTheCrow

      Hi, the bird in this video is a hooded crow. Unfortunately many people still have a negative view of these inteligent and social birds.

    Thank you for sharing!!! To go from not being able to look at them through a window to where you are now is really beautiful. Mine are showing great improvement and it has only just been a year. Sometimes I feel like my crows and I are on the same wavelengths with understanding each other like telepathy and sometimes I feel like we are bewildered by each other. We are always doing our best to learn and grow trust.
    I may need to fish through your videos, but I would love to see a compilation of crow body language and what you learned.

    The friends we make in life sometimes last forever and some only for a while but all friendships leave their mark on us and shape us into the person we are today . Dogs cats and birds I have had them all as friends and miss every one of them now that they are gone but I'm grateful to have had them as my friend and ill never forget them . 😊

    Lovely, amazing to see their relationship with you... love the baby crow noises especially....
    Mine are nesting now in the UK, today they were all flying around in the day, I could hear the adults were driving away the youngsters, I could hear them cawing a lot, then when I went out to feed them there were none there....
    Yesterday even I was told off for going too near one of the females nests, she is sitting still and silently now. The male even came and buzzed me squawking at me for going too near..
    The other nest, I tried to photograph it, but they all flew off, I wasn't even allowed to point my camera at them..
    So now I will have to leave them all alone and hope for the best for last years youngsters to find new mates and territories and give them all space now the females are nesting and look forwards to the new generation and welcome them when they appear next month....

    Personally have sped up how comfortable the birds in my area are to me, by changing the shape I appear to them.
    If I am just in a t-shirt or jumper as an example they are all very sceptical, but if I wear a hat, or hood over my head I don’t have the common human head and shoulders shape they are far more comfortable around me.
    I leave bird food by my open window and they will commonly come through the windows and sit eating the seeds within a few ft of me if I have my hood up. But if I’m not wearing a hat or hoodie they commonly will not even come in for the food.

    any advice? i'm trying to get in touch with my crow family since this winter. they always loved my walnuts and didn't took something else yet. now since spring is coming, they don't even want my walnuts anymore as well, at least it needs time until they take them. i guess, they have a better food situation generally, so they don't hesitate with the walnuts. what do you think?

    • @KrariTheCrow

    How could you tell which one was male and which one was female? I used to have a young crow "adopted" when it just landed on my shoulder after it was stuck on the bottom of a tree and I think it was male. But I am not sure. It was bigger than another crow that I saw and I googled and found out that apparently male crows are bigger. I still have pictures so if there are other visual indicators I would appreciate a lot if you could help me out. I want the name to be fitting, even tho it is a wild one now and I moved far away

    • @KrariTheCrow

      I can tell the gender from the vocalisations and during nesting season you don't see the female for a few weeks. The male is bigger and has a bigger beak too here.

    I have a question maybe someone can answer… I’m one year into feeding crows and they are breeding and the babies are coming… They are being very weird with me like protective or something as if they don’t know me and I have not been through this season yet. is this normal?

    • @KrariTheCrow
