Hey buddy, on this job I didn't have a proportioner, because I was using crappy old hypo, so I went in 50/50 and it only just managed to remove the black spot, but on most jobs I use the grey proportioner. 👍.
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning thanks for that. I tried the grey one but it didn’t foam up very much but the revs was only low so maybe I could have done with more revs. Will try again on Wednesdays job. Cheers
@@Powershiftcleaning Are you using surfactant? and if you are, how much? it's not the proportioner or revs that causes the foam, it's surfactant and how much is added 👍
@@Powershiftcleaning What are you using for surfactant? I add maybe 150 ml to 20 litres hypo and it foams up lovely, i'm finding it hard to understand why it's not foaming up.
Bio isn't supposed to go down drains. This isn't bio, it's hypo (sodium hypochlorite) which burns itself out after a couple of hours of contact with organic matter. So it's fine to go down drains, as it's the same chemical that the water companies use to treat waste water.
Subscribed, hit the bell and love your video's, Nick! GREAT JOB! I just purchased an X Jet M5, did a few Mods to it and attached a stainless steel shutoff valve directly on the X jet so there's no residual SH left in the tubing between the plastic shutoff valve (that comes with it) and the X Jet. Much easier to shut off the SH feed to rinse or soak your plants / bushes with fresh water then can switch back to the SH mix instantly. I do have this one question though... what surfactant are you using to get such great foam / bubbles, and where can I purchase it? Thanks Nick.. keep up the awesome job and I'm definitely checking out more of your video's.
We thoroughly pre and post rinse/soak all the ground surrounding the plants, and the plants themselves. By doing that, no it won't effect the plants. Without pre and post rinsing, it's highly likely it would effect the plants.
Great job mate, I have an X-jet M5 too what colour proportioner are you running with the Hypo/surfactant mix? I've been trying the black, beige and red ones
Hi Baz, thanks a lot mate. On this job I didn't use a proportioner because I was using really old hypo that had lost a lot of it's strength, so it was coming out 50/50. 👍.
Have you tried adding some EBC to old SH? its supposed to give it a bit of a boost, something to think about next time? Its safe to mix with surfactant too.
@@Baztard1068 😁 yeah old hypo can be a bit of a pain, as there's no way of knowing what strength it is anymore, seems to be okay using it 50/50 most of the time, sometimes needs going over again though 🙁.

Hi Ched, thanks very much. I've never known artificial grass to be effected by hypo. I once accidentally spilt half a drum of fresh 15% neat hypo on an artificial lawn, didn't do a thing to it. To say I was relieved by that would be a bit of an understatement 🤣. Thanks for the feedback on the arm footage. I did have more, but the camera moved without me realising, and all you could really see was my chest and a bit of my arm 🙈. Didn't think anyone would want to see that 😆.

Hi Jason, thanks mate. With fresh, decent hypo, on a job like this, with fairly light black spot, i'd normally go 4 or 5 to 1 and that would work well. But on this job, i'd run out of my usual stuff and had to go beg and borrow from any one who had it. Because I new what i was using to be old hypo, I just went 50/50. I can't really give an accurate timescale on hypo because you never know how long it's been in storage for, before you receive it. It definitely deteriorates over time, and the deterioration depends on what temperature it's stored at apparently. If you're hypo was fresh when you bought it, it should be ok after six months, might be worth trying it neat, that might work. 👍.

Head went a bit on the speeded up but down the side of the house 🤪 Quick one on the xjet mate, u mentioned you dropped the pressure due to the floor you were working in did you leave the same pressure when using the xjet or did you have to drop it even further? Hi, nice video, do you pre mix your hypo in a drum and then xjet the area? Or just neat hypo that's mixed as you spray? Getting myself one soon. Thanks
The psi needs to be turned right down for the x-jet, so it's easier to control. The ratios are controlled by the proportioners that are provided with the x-jet.
You need to turn the unloader right down on your machine if you have one. If you haven't got one, then really your only option is to turn the revs down.
