So household bleach and “chlorine” are basically the same. The SH that we use is just a little stronger. Power washing rigs can apply more than 60:1 water to bleach. I have mine applying about 2.5% with a 4gpm machine. Because of the shooter tips we use, we aren’t hitting the house with 4000psi, more like 200. You CAN use a pressure washer to do a decent amount of soft washing. A soft washing gas pump is definitely helpful for certain applications, but a 4000psi 4gpm can do a wide variety of jobs.

I do tile & grout cleaning but a shopping center asked me if could I pressure wash their property that has algae/mold build up from water run off from the roof. I tried prepaying ecolabs chemical from Home Depot but I had to really pressure wash just to remove about 70% of the area I tested. It’s a fiber cement stucco wall, and I don’t want to ruin it. Do you have video explaining the mix of chlorine and fungicide? Where can I get these products? I really want to be able to complete this job for them as it could lead to floor work for me which I know how to do that lol

0:32 that is TEARING UP that wood... be prepared to lightly sand it after it has dried.. then you will have to re-preserve it with a oil base protectant..

I'm in California and we get plenty or sun where mold doesn't grow easily.
Usually north side of homes due to no sunlight and damp conditions are prone to grow green algae /moss / mildew. All the good stuff, lakes rivers fog..add trees or shade..

The thing with this is soft washing is considered the easy way which leads to more saturated jobs and less charging , only time you damage paint or break tiles is when you don’t know what your doing
What is a neutralizing agent
I have an opportunity to buy a slightly used skid mount pesticide sprayer.
I'd like to get into pressure washing for my step brothers painting business and eventually get into soft washing on my own. However I am a full time Arborist and thought could I use one sprayer to do it all? Spray trees with pesticide, drain triple clean, soft wash, drain triple clean then do a paint prep power wash. I know it's probably not practical full time but the whole pesticide thing has a fairly small window of application.

@@bencano1799 I’m not sure the context of your pesticide use exactly or which ones you use, but in the US use of pesticides farmers and consumers can be wayyyy over what is necessary or healthy, considering they’re toxic in the first place. Using more doesn’t make them more effective, and using them just encourages stronger generations which require MORE pesticides to kill. But to answer your question no I’m not personally affected, but in the long run humanity has to choose sustainability.

Use a J Rod
18 ft pole made by Ryobi, but there's a 24 ft sold at hd put spin tip on it..also works but be prepared to work..its a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll..I'm seeing alot about jrod, xjet modification, they would probably be better, idk I'm old school..poles dangerous in the wind . consider window/ damage/ power lines,..etc If your new to the game use poles at bottom setting then extend to full length so you get used to pressure push back.. when done correctly the weight of pole / pressure balance makes it easier than fighting against it.. if you can't reach it with 24 pole and red rip..rent a lift, or if possible work off roof but be safe

Pricing would be the same. Soft wash/pressure wash are just different methods for completing the same job. 12v soft wash has lower overhead so you keep more money. Check some of my vids they will help
The thing with the plants seems weird what if the plant spray doesn't work and you damage the plants ?

I downstream all the time with my injector tip and the bleach always does the work. I use pressure washer.

I'm finding I still have to pressure wash after the soft wash, is anyone else experiencing that? The black mold or whatever will be barely sitting on there but it's not unstuck enough for my hose nozzle to remove by itself. What am I doing wrong? Is this common or do I just need to mix more chemicals?
Try mixing your bleach with fungicide(I use southern drawl) to keep the bleach stuck to the wall rather than dripping down. If that doesn’t work try getting a better bleach pump I use the Everflo 5.5 gpm but am trying to get a 24v 10gpm pump.

Wet and forget is similar to the fungicide residue that we leave on after we clean it... only ours is better... 😊. And our system removes the mold immediately

@@markreynolds1112 it doesn’t stay away any longer. Once there’s a layer of polin on the roof you have organic base for the algae to grow on. Iv tried green wash. It’s all just sales

If I only have a hose or pressure washer is there some way to do the soft wash or do you have to purchase equipment that only does 100psi.
I looked for Clorox and fungal. Can you send me a link to what you use? I ask because we have a wooden deck under trees and it's very dark and green growth.

I think he’s referring to bleach and it’s pH. So watering down their mixture will neutralize the pH of the soil so there’s no nutrient burn or interference of nutrient uptake.

yes it is not a pressure washer... Its a soft wash machine.
You can use either. 12v pump or a pressure washer with a downstream injector and special tips to lower the pressure. Both are fine

Is it worth pressure washing first. Then finishing it off with soft wash, so that it’s very clean with the pressure washer (it it will remove all the debris) and the soft wash will prevent regrowing for a lot longer?

@@bobsyouruncle8052 does that mixture clean as rapidly as what you used in this video? Reason I asked, I did a PW job last week. The white vinyl siding was black and sun baked on. It took 5 applications of 6% to clean it and some spots I had to use a 25° tip to cut it off. What should've taken 1.5 hours took over 3 hours. Needless to say, I lost $$$.

We use chlorine and bleach interchangeably sometimes, but they are chemically different. Has nothing to do with concentration. One is Cl2 and the other is NaClO4. Good info though.
Uh oh. We are in the middle of an $11,000 exterior house painting job. We hired an expensive reputable company but when they came to wash the house, they didn't use pressure to get the peeling paint off (and there's a lot of it). I called with my concerns and they said that they don't pressure wash the paint off and that they scrape it. She said that they wash the house to get debris off of the paint. But I did a walk around and took pictures because they failed to get all the debris off. They better not paint over bug cocoons!!!

Sounds like you're an asshole. One you don't power wash peeling paint off a house. 25 yr professional painter. Two I'm sure the contractor you hired knows he has to hand scrape the siding to ready the substrate for paint. Three If you know more about the work being done, than the contractor you hired. Shouldn't your lazy ass have just done the work yourself. I hope when he is done and you don't pay up. He puts a title lien on your house. 👍

@@NathanBrantley read on how much moisture is allowed in any particular substrate before paint will give a good bond. You'll have your answer
Pressure washing to remove paint blows paint chips everywhere. Plus pressure washing mostly removes the easier to remove paint anyway. Even if you pressure wash to remove paint you need to spend time scraping stuff that doesn't come off easily. So if you're using a power scraper you don't save a huge amount of time considering the amount of time spent cleaning up all the paint chips, unless you plan on leaving that mess for the homeowners.

I would consider washing your house just as you would your car, even if you plan on painting,
A little bleach will kill the mold and leave the siding looking fresh and spotless

A pressure washing company runs the same system. You are talking about an industry you don’t know about. Your running a sws system 12v. we have 12v on our rigs as well but a pressure washer on siding is still only running at 200psi unless your talking about an un educated home owner with a craftsman rig. The flow we run provides a scrub affect that you can’t get with a booster rinse system like your running. Run both systems and see why all the large scale cleaners don’t operate out of an sws system.

@JohnnyD WoodWorks think he's saying to get the job done in a more efficient manor, use pressure washers set at lower psi and use the correct size tip or attachment and use hot water. Sws have a place but I personally DO NOT think they are very efficient compared to knowing how to use a pressure washing system correctly. Again my personal opinion a lot of people run out and buy sws thinking they are now pressure washing, cleaning concrete, houses roofs, side of buildings whatever with bleach. OK cool, but the time it takes for you to treat the area over and over and over with bleach, I would have it done in 1 pass with hot water, foam cannon and degreaser. I've listened to a TON of these sws owners sales pitches and explanations on why sws are superior and I listen and laugh. 90% use big words to sound like they are professionals in the business when really they are selling the client complete BS. But it is what it is they can do them, and I'll do me in the business. I pressure wash, I'm a confident professional in the business. Anyone can garden hose on bleach water to a surface and call themselves "pressure washers". That's my 2 cents.

Yes. Running a j rod setup is industry standard. Down streaming straight bleach with 1oz per gallon of surfactant. You don’t need a Fungicide. Just kill the growth. The process of the organics re starting growth and re forming takes 3-4 years. Anything further is just a sales tactic. Iv tried green wash and other similar products. It’s all just smoke and mirrors. My customers consistently have a clean home for 4 years no problem.

For larger areas like the decks and patios, I think I will be looking into a surface cleaner attachment to speed up the job, or at least make it a little easier. Hose and sprayer connections are tool-less, tight, and quick. I used the yellow nozzle on the concrete/brick surfaces, and the pressure was adequate for cleaning those surfaces.I am disappointed that these units are still being shipped with a nozzle storage holder that allows them to vibrate out of the holder way too easily and become lost, but I don't want to knock off a star for that reason. The functional part of the washer works very well, so I would recommend this product.

it is an additive that gets added to the solution in the line as it gets shot onto the building. the idea is the fungicide of which we like "green wash" from soft wash systems the best, gets lets on the surface after cleaning. it is not applied separately its included into the mix. This only works if you have a injector that can inject the green wash into the line.
If green wash is mixed in a container with the chlorine for more than a few minutes the fungicide will be killed by the chlorine making it useless.
