I am so so curious about Areej le Dore! The prices are a bit out there, but when we put them into perspective against some other brands that claim to have Oud, they seem cheap 😁
Thats 100% it!
I can't wait for December tenth.
PS Ramsey, I love your videos. The way you run this channel suits my tastes completely.
Thank you Damian ... Dec 10th having one of the legends on the channel is an absolute pleasure 🙏🙏🙏
Hi
Got my sample of the scent today.
Immediately had a idea of another scent in my head.
After thinking and searching for a while i got it. You have to try and cross smell THoIO with bortnikoff tabac dore attar (the perfum i dont have so maybe thats fine as well).
If you hide the tabac note in your head the pretty smell similar.
Really crazy!
Interesting... thanks for watching & sharing 🍻
i got it yesterday, very nice stuff, crazy how good their net of logistics is too, didn't even pay customs fees, i wish they still had Civet de Nuit 10ml too... 48ml is too much to blind buy
I would love civet de nuit one day too 💪🐏
Congrats on 750 and i wish you a billlions more Ram! Its a pleasure listening to you 🙏
Thank you so much for the support
Amazing Indonesian oud🏆
I bought 5 bottles in reserve💯🔥
Wow 5 bottles ... congrats 🍻🥳
@@RamseytheRam 🤝👍 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wore this scent for four months and in the end I discovered that it was a pure buzz 💯💯💯
@@RamseytheRam For myself, I concluded that this scent is not as simple as it seemed to me in the first month. This is a fantastic piece of wood with a wide range of associations.
Ramsey! I wanted to do a follow up with you about my first real perfume purchase, Areej Le Dore's "Gulab" attar. Gulab is described as, "Pink rose petals water distilled in a copper pot into pure sandalwood oil." Again, disclaimer: I'm a newbie to perfumes. I don't know what I'm smelling. Recently, I wrote to you that I got a sample of Malik Al Taif. I was blown away by a scent I didn't know was possible. I am, however, still confused by it so I decided to take a couple of steps backwards and go pure and simple. That's why I got Gulab. Something I've learned about perfume is that it's easy to get into. Many of these perfumes and attars are very expensive but samples are easily accessible and they're inexpensive. I am familiar with sandalwood oil though I have yet to smell Mysore sandalwood oil. The samples of sandalwood oil I do have are from "Eden Botanicals" and my favorite is from Hawaii. On one wrist, I swiped pure Hawaiian sandalwood oil. On my other wrist, I swiped Gulab. I can smell the rose oil in Gulab but to my uneducated and unrefined nose the rose oil takes a back seat to the sandalwood oil in Gulab. I don't know what kind of sandalwood oil Russian Adam used. The rose oil smells quite faint to me and I wish it were stronger. So what do I think about the scent of Gulab overall? I was looking for pure and simple and I got pure and simple. I wasn't blown away like I was with Malik Al Taif. I'd give Gulab a 7 out of 10 but, remember, I like flowery, powdery scents. Ramsey, I'm a newbie to perfumes and I've got ideas that shouldn't be discounted and swept aside.
As a painter, when I take people unfamiliar with fine art to museums and they have no clue that they're looking at, for instance, a Degas, Vermeer, Manet, and Rothko, I'm amazed with how they see and what they say. Their perception and conception of what's before them is raw and unfiltered. There's so much to learn from gut reactions to people not familiar with the discipline. On the other hand, educated art lovers can't separate the name and period of art history tied to the painting before them. Educated art lovers can't look at a Rothko without seeing "ROTHKO." It's impossible for educated art lovers to look with fresh eyes and minds empty. With Rothko, newbies simply see fields of color. I remember the first time I saw a black Ad Reinhardt painting. I'll never forget the feeling of awe and wonder and I'll never be able to repeat it. Like a newbie to an art museum, maybe my following unfiltered thoughts about essential oils and perfumes has merit.
I would love to see someone like Russian Adam or Ensar Oud make a collection of essential oils, not to try on your wrist, but bottled in a way that can forever be referenced. The trick, of course, is to somehow seal the scent so that it does not dissipate over time. For instance, when you talk about Russian, Chinese, Indian, or Indonesian oud, there could be beautifully packaged scent bottles of all them that we could reference. Perhaps it's a small piece of volcanic rock in a wooden vessel or vial with just a few drops of oud in a sponge that won't fade over time. Maybe there's an inert archival sponge that could be soaked in oil and put in a vial. For instance, present 10 different oud vials in a beautiful wood chest. From what I understand, there are thousands of different species of agarwood trees so to narrow a scent box down to 10 would be incomplete but it's a start. I can't imagine an oud that smells like mint ice cream but you say it exists. If I had a sample I would understand. Make sample boxes or sets with all of the base scents that Russian Adam and Ensar Oud uses. For instance, make different reference sets with multiple different types of sandalwood oil, then another with different kinds of rose oil, and patchouli, and vetiver, and deer musk. The list of essential oils is endless but imagine being able to reference the scents most commonly used in essential oils and attars. When a perfume or attar is talked about we at home could open a chest and smell the scent you're referencing. I would love, for instance, to have a scent bottle of 100% Taif rose oil that I could reference for decades. I am untrained so when you talk about perfumes I understand the words and the concepts but I don't understand the scent.
Ramsey, I've gone on with this diatribe but I've got one more thought about Gulab attar and Malik Al Taif. I'm a bit confused. On my skin, Malik Al Taif and Gulab don't last long. After an hour the scent becomes very subtle. My skin does not hold the 12 hour longevity you talk about. I think I remember you talking about the role that synthetics play in perfumes, mainly they're used for scent throw and longevity. Is this correct? A perfume that is 80% natural and 20% synthetic will have a stronger throw and last longer than an all natural attar, for instance. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm thinking about spending a few hundred dollars on Areej Le Dore but if the scent fades so quickly, is it worth the money? I don't know. I need your thoughts and guiding light, Ramsey, as usual. Stay awesome! ... next up, a sample of Amouage Jubilation XXV man. Yay!
What a beautiful comment ... your Art comparison is moving and beautiful and has merrit
My decant of Malik Al Taif last easily 12 hours ... my advice is to always put lotion on the area you apply perfume before bed & drink lots of water throughout the day
If your skin is dry it will eat up the perfume
But some folks skin just eats perfume & some folks skin doesnt 🤷🏻♂️
But staying hydrated & making sure your skin doesnt get to dry is a big part of perfume longevity
@@RamseytheRam oooh, I see. I've never had dry skin and I don't need moisturizer. I would say my skin is "normal." I will, however, try the moisturizer first and see if it prolongs the longevity of the attar. My entirely synthetic $15 bottle of "Curve" lasts a long time on my skin. Go figure.
Only recently discovered that there are quite a few citrus essential oils in cola accords. Along with cinnamon CO2, anise, benzaldehyde, benzyl benzoate, a couple of resinoids, ethyls vanillin and maltol, AAG, menthol and a macrocyclic musk. Put 'em together and whatdya get? 😁 Two polar bears and a f*&^ing santa hat. 🤣 Merry Perfumas. Seriously, the glass bottles were key. Another great review Ramsey.
🍾🎅🐻❄
I was suprised to see redolecens and fragmental have done vids of some Areej Le Doré. But well done doning many reviews of these. Might get this one since its the last and not to pricey 😊
Honestly it's the best oud you can buy for 160 bucks or whatever it is ... just brilliant 👏🏻
Congrats on 750 Ram! Looking forward to the Millennial episode this time next year🥳. You have built a superb reference library for frag heads, and thank you for that. Poor Sebastian never has time to smell the roses. I have Indonesian oud and find it stays close to skin.. but do enjoy that natural woody cola ashy vibe.
Very well said Stevie .... i like that I get to smell the roses 🌹
And work at my own pace
Best Perfume-TH-camr in the Game. Love your content. Keep it up, bro 👌
Thank you for the kind words & support 🙏🙏🙏
Actually wearing some 'dirty cola' today 😏 perfect for cold dark English winter days.
Perfect indeed 🥃
Thanks for watching 💪🐏
@@RamseytheRam👍 have tried any of the attar versions of Adam's spray parfums?... someone in my fragrance group has a set of 4 from 2018, for sale that includes OE, Walimah, Malik Al Taif, and Oud Luwak... I'm tempted even though attars really aren't my thing but I've never seen these in the wild and think they were only sold in his middle east authorised stockist.
Hi ramsay, are you interested in Roja’s Bahrain, Fruity Aoud and Candy Aoud? Im selling my collection off
I would love to but I cant buy any perfumes right now 😒
@@RamseytheRam Haha totally understand. Did you get anything this black friday?
@@zowch6437 well I have a few bottles coming from a friend in the community who kindly sent me some free bottles
But other than that nope... i cant buy any perfumes with this divorce hanging over my head
@@RamseytheRam Can’t wait for your reviews on those! Hope you get through this tough period and everything goes smoothly, my best wishes are with you 🙏🏻
Thank you mate... its actually been one of the best 4 months of my life ... happiest I have ever been...just brokest I have ever been lol
It be fun if you got the new stuff and you trash them lol. Someone sold this one for $85 on Mercari and I missed out 😢. Congrats on the 750! Enjoying your videos a ton.
Thanks for watching Luis 🙂
Thank you brother !
I'm testing my new paying card, so I hope it will work.
It's a pleasure to hear anything about Areej le Doré.
Russian Adam is the magician of Oud.
My Scent Of This Day :
Chanel - No.19 (the vintage)
Cheers....
Thank you for generosity Dušan 🫂
Ram thanks for the interview. I have Areej on the release
Of the classics a 6/10 for RO and OE. Nothing special more hype for me. For a gourmand I can say it fits the bill but too much cacao versus EO Rumi a much more sophisticated gourmand that trumps RO. Maybe this type of oud I’ll have try from this house but a true letdown for a first timer. I’ve heard many say the oldies are the best not this new stuff.
SOTD EO Tonkin Musk
Never smelled EO Tonkin musk but its on the to sniff list 🐽
Thanks for watching & commenting 🙂
Your passion is obvious and it's why 45+ min videos are enjoyable.
Thank you Joe 🍻💪🐏
Most affordable from oud line..
Yes 160 bucks

Hey man, i recently got into fragrances and when i first watched your videos i didnt like the negativity but now i only watch you and i really love all your videos and your taste in fragrances, looks like another AWESOME video! Keep doing what your doing for the community! Couldnt find your twitter tho
I dont have a twitter ... maybe one day
Thanks so much for watching & commenting 🤌🤌🤌
Really enjoyed this one Rams, the breakdown of the said fragrance, the piece on Sebastian and how he reviews new releases across the fragrance genre ( he did review Areej if memory serves) and enjoyed them along with his perfume Buddy Dalia, and I agree 💯 he really has to maintain this level of reviewing to hold court with his large subscriber base for sure, big commitment right there ,And I was really impressed with a commenter on this video saying he was new to fragrance and didn’t like the negativity ,as he put it at first, but then realized the negativity was actually speaking truth to power, ie the obvious reviewers he watched heaping laud and praise to the free bottles they were gifted with the,Say this or else instruction mandate, and to then hear him say ,he loves what your doing and keep up informing and educating the community ,well Rams I hope you feel proud of yourself man because if you can change one new Frag heads opinion and open his eyes to what real reviews and reviewers are all about, you can bet,a whole lot more hold the same opinion in the background who simply haven’t commented yet . Great job sir take a bow 🙇, 👏🏻👏🏻✌️🙏👍.oh yes indeed looking forward to the Sultan Pasha life 10th December 👍
Thank you Bren beautiful comment mate 💪🐏
