While the table of nations is not comprehensive concerning all the nations and peoples that we have today, it is still very interesting to see how many of descendants of Noah's sons were real historical figures and in many cases fathers of nations that were attested to from other sources outside scripture.

Marrying siblings became wrong only later. It became dangerous due to the increasing amounts of mutations within the populations. Japheth was the lighter of the three. I would guess that Shem was in the middle, and that Ham was the darker, not necessarily of the darker skin of blacks, but darker. All three likely had the genes for lighter to darker, but were individually more proned to certain degrees of lightness to darkness. God seems to enjoy sanctified variation. He didn't make us all to be the same. We, being in His image, should also relish our variations.
If you want to know why Canaan was cursed not Ham. Read it in the Hebrew and read what the rabbis say about the matter. But I'll give you this hint: When Noah woke up and intimately (physically) knew what his younger ben (ben also means grandson in Hebrew) had performed on him. The word knew is the same word for Adam and Eve having intimate sex.

People today cannot comprehend the meaning of clothing for Noah. It was so important to not be seen naked. Remember, it was the first thing that Adam and Eve did after they sinned. Heiser seems to be a fanatic who thrives on the fantastic. There are enough truly fantastic things out there, but many aquire a constant appetite for them and then resort to extreme make believe, often believing their own stories. The genealogies in Genesis 10-11 are completely contrived. You can know this is true when you become willing to admit that people don’t live hundreds upon hundreds of years. As such, there never was a Noah who lived 950 years and therefore, no table of nations of Noah's descendants. Excessive lifespans were a form of tribal competition shared among other ancient near eastern cultures. People in the New Testament (like Jesus, Paul and others) referred to Old Testament genealogies in ignorance. We know better today. There’s a couple problems with thinking people in the bible actually lived 900+ years. First, they were not likely actual historical people. Second, their long lifespans were representative. This is yet another example where failing to recognize the nature of ancient literature has led to the infiltration of Christian fantasy into the Hebrew text. Don’t allow religious naïveté to blind you. Snakes and donkeys don’t talk, people don’t live in whales for 3 days, warriors don’t don’t kill 1000 men with a jawbone, and humans never lived to be 900 years old. That he was indeed the forebear of the Chaldeans is confirmed by the Hurrian (Nuzi) tablets, which render the name as Arip-hurra - the founder of Chaldea. The name was also known to the Akkadians as Arraphu. Some scholars have endeavoured to treat his name as a derivative of the Assyrian phrase 'arba-kishshatu', meaning the four corners of the world; but given the somewhat localized nature of the Chaldean people, confining themselves for the most part to southern Mesopotamia, this derivation is unlikely. The Assyians knew his descendants as the Kaldu, adept astrologers, magicians and mathematicians. Ptolemy, however, recorded the name of their land as Arrapachitis, whilst it was known to others as Arphaxitis. The very earliest settlement of the children of Arphaxad, however, appears to have been what is today a two and a half acre ruin called Arpachiya. It lies some four miles to the east of ancient Nineveh, and is the remains of a very early farming community.

Marrying siblings became wrong only later. It became dangerous due to the increasing amounts of mutations within the populations. There became the very real danger of this causing and producing devastating abnormalities.
In and near the beginning this was not an issue, therefore it wasn't wrong. Genetics from the earliest of times were still fairly pure. In fact, marrying siblings was necessary for the propagation of mankind.
I would say that the Scriptures give us a historical infrastructure for thinking.

There is much in the table of nations in Genesis 10 about the Europeans. It may not say directly but it is not hard from ancient history to trace many European peoples back to Genesis 1o. Gomer is widely thought to be the source of the Galls, the Galatians, the Celts even the Welsh. Cymru (pronounced Gumrue) is the Welsh name for Wales, a direct link back to Gomer son of Japheth. Jonathan Edwards discusses these at length in his "Notes on the Bible" in his works.

Japheth was the lighter of the three. I would guess that Shem was in the middle, and that Ham was the darker, not necessarily of the darker skin of blacks, but darker.
All three likely had the genes for lighter to darker, but were individually more proned to certain degrees of lightness to darkness.
God seems to enjoy sanctified variation. He didn't make us all to be the same. We, being in His image, should also relish our variations.

If you want to know why Canaan was cursed not Ham. Read it in the Hebrew and read what the rabbis say about the matter. But I'll give you this hint: When Noah woke up and intimately (physically) knew what his younger ben (ben also means grandson in Hebrew) had performed on him. The word knew is the same word for Adam and Eve having intimate sex.
There are many speculative ideas about this passage. The original Hebrew does not help in this case and Rabbinic opinions are just opinions.

There are enough truly fantastic things out there, but many aquire a constant appetite for them and then resort to extreme make believe, often believing their own stories. They also gravitate toward other's fantastic, made up versions of things.

Genesis 10:5 is clearly talking about the descendants of Japheth (ie Gentiles) moving to the Isles/islands.
The genealogies in Genesis 10-11 are completely contrived. You can know this is true when you become willing to admit that people don’t live hundreds upon hundreds of years. As such, there never was a Noah who lived 950 years and therefore, no table of nations of Noah's descendants. Excessive lifespans were a form of tribal competition shared among other ancient near eastern cultures. People in the New Testament (like Jesus, Paul and others) referred to Old Testament genealogies in ignorance. We know better today.
There’s a couple problems with thinking people in the bible actually lived 900+ years. First, they were not likely actual historical people. Second, their long lifespans were representative. This is yet another example where failing to recognize the nature of ancient literature has led to the infiltration of Christian fantasy into the Hebrew text.
Don’t allow religious naïveté to blind you. Snakes and donkeys don’t talk, people don’t live in whales for 3 days, warriors don’t don’t kill 1000 men with a jawbone, and humans never lived to be 900 years old. Let’s put away the children’s bed time version of the Bible, and read it as literature….the ancient, symbolic, metaphoric, and yes, the mythological literature it is.
