Took a friend of mine fishing, had a old relative who was basically blind. Caught a nice little channel cat, 3-4 pounds. Hooked it on his line and let him reel it in. He was so excited. He died not long after, but he told my friend how much fun he had reeling that fish in. Thought he caght it himself... and he did.
i havent been nite fishing since the early 90`s , ya never know what you were going to get, and all we had for light was a couple of flashlights and a couple of old coleman lanters. those were some big fish i have never caught a fish that big. hope one day i can get one

As others have said. Do not set the hook if it's a circle keep line right let fish set itself and just reel.. longer distances braid will certainly help
Where is this spot at? I live in the tricities and there is no where that i know of that can produce as big of fish as that but id love to hook up with a catfish bigger than 8-10 pounds
I use a solid salt water boat rod, with a Penn #140 Squidder reel. I like the shorter 8 foot length, even though it don't cast like a surf rod. If you're not rigged heavy, get out of the way.

I like the videos but don’t understand that hookset at all. I can’t figure out if it’s circles or what. But I don’t set my circles, I just real fast and slowly raise the rod half way up. When I’ve set with circles I always miss.
Honestly dude. I would pay you to take me fishing and teach me some things. I live in michigan and fish erie from shore where i can...and i fish various rivers. Most of the time i dont know what im doing but i use home made bait, chicken gizzards and hearts with molasses and garlic powder....that seems to catch me a few channel cats. But i would pay for knowledge and you seem to have it. Just an idea i suppose.

this was about 4 miles downstream of ft louden dam..ft louden lake and watts bar lake will put you on a good fish if you keep fishing them
