I love him too 😻 I was born about 8 years after he passed. I dreamt I was his girlfriend last night and I had to defend him against an aggressive Fan. Like him I am also terrified of driving and haven't got my license yet.
Watch his interviews, tragic story of a misguided youth who gained treasures that moths eat and rust destroys, only Jesus Christ can give eternal gifts. Temporary fame or fortune in the fallen world of sin is a mirage and a deception. Astrology, black magic, and chemical abuse lead to eternal death without repentance and faith in the Savior
Marc was also a good friend of Jeff Lynne from Jeff's early days in The Idle Race. Marc played dual lead guitar with Jeff on the 1974 ELO hit single Ma-Ma-Ma Belle.
He's sooo beautiful....Help me..i'm in love with a dead rockstar, who died even before i was born...i feel sad. At least we still have the music, and that will never die
It was their first glam rock song as T. Rex, before that they had been doing loads of folky stuff. "Ride a White Swan" was released in 1970 by T. Rex had been around since 1967. "Ride a White Swan" reaching No. 2 in the charts is regarded as being the start of the Glam Rock period of British Music.
+Michaela There were many many more artists and groups to enjoy. The late sixties and early seventies were a fantastic time for music lovers, so much variety .. something to please everyone. These days we have xfactor clone copying xfactor clone crucifying the old music.Keep looking and be thankful you have TH-cam, much of it is right here.
My favourite song, by one of the greatest groups. My english teacher introduced me to T-Rex years ago as we both have same spelling in our first name. Rock on Marc!
Dude, you're totally brilliant! Yesterday, I was watching the Marc Bolan bbc documentary on quicksilverscreen and the guy next to me said, "Look at the footage of Marc in 1977, Johnny Depp looks EXACTLY like him! Jesus Christ, it's the SAME PERSON!" You have awesome awareness to be able to pick up on blatant homage to Marc's influence in the movie while it flys right over everyone else's head. You noticed something everyone else missed. You rock. You win a feather boa!
my dad's firm made their instruments and Marc Bolan signed an OLD fiver for me. Ride A White Swan was the first record i ever bought at the ripe old age of 11 mmmmmmmmm memories eh x
Hi ,everyone. I remember when this first came out and i think it is still fabulous. I am going back to early 70's when I was onlly 13 years old ,but still love it ...
Marc, you will never grow old! You will always be known. You will always be loved. This is a message from the future. Now who but you could achieve that?
Loved this guy. My era. Along with Slade, Sweet and Mud they were outrageous. Bolan was Johnny Depp even before Johnny Depp was. Now I know where they got Jack Sparrow from.

68th ANNIVERARY HIS BIRTH TODAY!!! MARC BOLAN (30 September 1947 - 16 September 1977) Marc Bolan was an English singer-songwriter, guitarist, and poet.
This is an interesting clip from 'Marc', which was a series he starred in and may well have lead to a come back for Marc Bolan. By the time this was made he had sadly been out of fashion for some time. But I watched it each week, because he was a legend even then. But the come back was sadly not to be for this series was pulled following his death that happened during it's run in autumn 1977. The guitar arrangement is heavily punk influenced - Punk was massive at the time.
Love you still ... thanx T.Rex...oooh folks forget that marc could really play that fret board..ummm Wish you were still strutting on planet earth Marc...
This track was played toward the end of the 'Billy Elliot' movie. So just had to come here to check it out. Marc Bolan and T Rex added much to that great British rock landscape back then. Great song...!!
* Could it be that you're up there in heaven, dancing with your dinosaur I do believe that you're riding in the Light of Love, on a big White Swan Did you bring the Mystic little Lady, and the woman with a frog in her hand and do you still practice tender Hot Love, with pretty Baby Boomerang . Let's bang a gong and Get It On, while Baby Strange does a Cosmic Dance she and the Dandy In The Underworld, Love To Boogie on a Raw Ramp I can see The Groover dancing, with The Slider on the Crimson Moon and Sam is busy delivering a Telegram, from the Metal Guru . We're still dancing with the dinosaur and the party goes on and on :) . Just had some fun with imaginary lyric writing style, including many of the hits (song titles).
It's from his '77 TV shows at Granada TV in Manchester. A re-recording and then lip-synced take for TV with his latest version of T.Rex hence the crappy thin sound that does no justice to the 1970 original. He remains one of our greatest pop/rock stars and songwriters with a unique gift for commercial hit songs with a quirk of originality. Still miss him.
I was 12 years old in 1977 when this show was aired. Some people aren't destined to stay in this realm for long. They're given a gift, they bedazzle us with it and then they go back to the stars.
I recently read that Johnny Depp is playing the Mad Hatter in an upcoming Alice in Wonderland movie. Funny that Marc kind of did that in Born to Boogie! Anyway, "Ride a White Swan" is an amazing song, and I love this version!
I've often heard people refer to this song as a hard rock turning point in pop but, listening to the lp version 20 years later, I just didn't see it. I get it now. Like watching live peformances of his on the tour supporting TANX, I finally understood his influence on punk.
I am in love with this man and it’s a really tragic love story because he died 20 years before I was born.
Same, I love him so much, but im 16 ): I wish he was here, he was such an angel.
I love him too 😻 I was born about 8 years after he passed. I dreamt I was his girlfriend last night and I had to defend him against an aggressive Fan. Like him I am also terrified of driving and haven't got my license yet.

@jrspakosky3813 Astrology isn't evil lol. Go away conspiracy theorist!
@@jrspakosky3813 I kind of wonder if he was into magic and witchcraft. Some of his lyrics sounded like it.
He was fabulous. I wish he was still around. Love him and T Rex.
Always keep a little Marc in your Heart.
I have become obsessed with this man and am having such a fun time with the obsession.
me too. don't know why and i don't care 😆

My first love, Marc and this song. When I was six. Still love both.
Marc Bolan was on of the best concerts that i have been to. I treasure the memories
He's sooo beautiful....Help me..i'm in love with a dead rockstar, who died even before i was born...i feel sad. At least we still have the music, and that will never die
Marc was the ultimate pop star.he really had it all.
He looks more like Sigourney Weaver
omg rare David Firth comment from 10 years ago??
@PansFan 76 definitely
WTF! inesperado encontrarte aquí! :o
Really? I thought in his heyday he almost was a dead-ringer for Elizabeth Montgomery . . .
He took 50's rock into a thin-surfaced medieval sound & place... It's his own universe
the day glam rock was born........!!!!!!!!! sure was a fun time in music!!!!
+dettigs It was indeed a fun time, I remember it all. Only got to see T Rex once .... at the Weely pop festival in 1972.

Why did he have to be taken from us so soon? I've only recently discovered Marc and his music but omg I love him
The flame that burns twice as bright, burns half as long
Discovered T.Rex in the early 80’s. Was so unset when I found out that he was killed in a car accident.
I was 12 years old in 1977 when this show was aired. Some people aren't destined to stay in this realm for long. They're given a gift, they bedazzle us with it and then they go back to the stars.
Marc Bolan?! you are amazing.
- ROCK ON! - never forgot.
Yepp, "keep a little Marc in your heart"!
A big white swan was built on his funeral 1977.
T.Rex theme on my channel this week :)
What a fucking genius Marc Bolan was. Thanks for the music Mark. RIP.
Absolutely agree with Michaela's comment! Presley and Bill Monroe are in Rock 'n' Roll hall of fame - so why not Bolan!!!
A GREAT MUSICIAN. . .Saw him at his first USA performance at Academy of Music. Our photographer Helen Hovey took photos that are posted on his site.
33 years today. RIP Jeepster
A GOLD VOICE !!!.....

I love this. Very catchy song. 😊🎼🎵🎶

Okay honestly, this song is legend. Same with Bang a Gong. Basically anything by T Rex is guaranteed to be awesome.
It's really amazing how fast he can switch from guitar to no guitar and reverse :)
If Johnny Depp and Sigourney Weaver had a love child?
babycaaakes I like both Johnny Depp and Marc Bolan, and I've always thought that the similarities in their looks, expressions and moves are unreal.
This. This
No.
No
@Steve Wescombe yeah...true. I guess I didn't think of that angle. Lol. K. You get what I was trying to say though?
Wear your hair long
baby you can't go wrong .
GREAT Marc!
