      Lang ist es her.
Dieses Lied war der Übergang von Akustikgitaŕre auf Elekrogitarre .
Es waren der richtige Schritt! !!
Das Lied zeigte den Weg wo T. Rex in den nächsten Jahren hin ging.

I'm 60 years old and still a massive fan of the unique and beautiful marc bolan.he was my hero in the 70's he got me through secondsry school and evenings doing my homework.it was always his LP's I took to parties and I dressed as much like him as I could- sparkly eye shadow, satin, platform shoes, silver stars glued to my face, glitter in my hair.even now his glam influence is evident in my every day life - in my home and the way I dress.i never let a few days go by without having a sing and dance to his music. The only person that came near him was another hero of mine- the one and only Prince.I think both of these beautiful men led the way for others. I'm always sad when I remember that Marc left us way too early, likewise with Prince.I just hope they are mates somewhere , jamming and having a blast.

"Ride a White Swan" is where the hit-bound Marc Bolan story starts.
Whimsical, all dolled up with poetry and attitude - the bridge between their acoustic and electric styles, catching T.Rex on the cusp of caterpillar and butterfly.

Marc Bolan was the perfect example of a shooting star. he came along and made a hell of a sensation and then was gone suddenly. but while he was here he pushed the limits of the boundaries of Rock and Roll music.
he knew he was going to be famous and he knew he was going to die.

    • @scott.moresh7
      @scott.moresh7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

He didn't have to die so young tho'...it almost becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when these rock stars kill themselves early with drugs, alcohol, or reckless living. In Marc's case, dying in a car accident when his band partner and girlfriend/partner got into a car accident where she was drunk presumably and I gather neither was wearing seat belts and they smashes onto a pole and fence. I am not throwing stones but it is such a waste of talent at such a young age. And preventable...

You’re not delusional! You’re absolutely right. I think Marc Bolan is seriously underrated and I can’t understand why he didn’t catch on here in the States. Luckily, I discovered his Unicorn album while I was flipping through albums in a department store when I was 14. It’s the only time in my life I ever bought an album without hearing any of the music first, but I was just transfixed by his face. Within a minute of listening to it, I knew I had found my favorite singer, and he quickly became my favorite guitar player, songwriter, and poet. And he always will be. My friends all loved him when I introduced his music to them, too. I’m so glad I was born when I was because I got to meet him once in person, very briefly. He was so polite, and he had the most gorgeous eyes that seemed like light was coming out of them. I couldn’t look away. KALMIYH 💕💕

What I really liked about Marc Bolan and some other glitter rockers, such as Mott the Hoople, was their ability to mix the profound and the banal. They were drawn to fame but also knew of fame's transience. They took themselves way too seriously sometimes but were keenly aware of it. "With my Les Paul, I know I'm small, but I enjoy living anyway." RIP Marc.

Top good guitarist, creative and excentric, lots of imagination, full of dreams & love to give, kind of wizard, genuine and so charismatic & sexy... 💖
I grew up with his music (and Jackson's 5) danced to his tunes and sooo in love with him, my teenager's room full of T. Rex and Marc's posters, missing him ❣️😔

Marc's music and lyrics, especially Ride A White Swan, is the muse for my poetry now all these many years later. He and Bowie were a great part of the eclectic music my circle of friends deeply connected with in the 70's. Marc Bolan's spirit and brilliance lives on! Love him.

It was a shame to have died so early. Great voice. It is a fantastic feeling to remember times when we were young and listened to this music in the nightclubs in Portugal. The friends, the environment, the girlfriends and good times spent. If I had a time machine to be able to go back and know what I know today, it would be fantastic.

Somehow I didn't hear this song - or anything else T Rex recorded - until the film "Billy Elliot" was released in 2000. Its soundtrack was packed with T Rex's biggest hits. I'm so grateful to the people who made that movie for featuring this music, & grateful to T Rex's copyright holders for allowing their music to be used.

I saw Tyranasaurus Rex at Sheffield City Halll back in 1968/9 (?). We were all very stoned at that concert. This was when they were an acoustic duo, with Marc Bolan on guitar and Steve Took on bongos. They sat crossed legs on the stage and blew us all away. They were brilliant.

You have to be able to understand "camp". It's not about being gay, either. Things like: The Rocky Horror Picture Show or Disco Tex and the Sex-O-Lettes go great with T.Rex. It's rock and roll, infused with bounce and whimsy. It is very hard to explain but you are 100% on the money. You either get it or you don't.
