😂😅 I'm a frakin idiot... That little tidbit of information will save me so much time and stress from not being able to find the reset... Kind of like that trick an uncle showed me where I never have to use a c-clamp when changing brake pads again. Which means I don't have to spend hours looking for a c-clamp...so thanks for the info.
I just bought a new Husqvarna machine, and was very interested to hear what you had to say. Thank you very much for the information. And I don't consider even a half a minute of it a waste of my time. I am paying a lot of money for my machine, and I want to know all the details about maintaining it. Your video was very helpful to me.
Good info,I didn't want to reset mine but wondered why my meter showed 801 hours but now I see it's really 80.1. Nice to know the .1 will change to .2 after 6 minutes. Thanks again.
Mine is the rz5424 I've changed the oil 2 times since the flashing has started. I change beginning of cutting then towards the end if it needs it or not. But mine has not stop blinking.
This may or may not work for you. I have that same gauge on a John Deere L130 and the oil symbol has been flashing for weeks, easily over 20 hours now. Just ordered a new gauge for $15 on eBay, hopefully mine is just defective. By the way, it is NOT good to leave your ignition switch on for 2 hours, as more things are getting power than just this gauge. If you want to play around with it, make jumper wires and connect just the gauge to a 12 volt source.
You could have said that waiting 2 hours after 50 hours of running will reset it in the first minute of this video, or change the title. The title was about the oil change message, not the hours.
I have an Ariens Ikon42xd new and it has a flashing symbol to the left of the 2.5 hours it says i dont know what it means. It only flashes when key is on and running
Should have told us to turn the ignition on and by the time the video was over, it would have been reset. Listening to your accent would have kept me entertained for the 2 hours.
Turn the ignition key to the "Run" position, but do not start the engine. Leave the key in this position for two hours, then turn the ignition key to the "Stop" position and remove the key. The service timer will reset and come on when the next service interval is reached. Ref: homeguides.sfgate.com/reset-service-timer-john-deere-l130-95659.html Hope it helps. Shu
My Lord what a to do about nothing. You cant reset the oil change message, it's simply a reminder message. It clears itself two hours after it appears automatically. It comes on at preset intervals and turns off by itself two running hours later.
mygiguser it says how to change oil change message/meter. sime answer you can't. most don't care about the meter itself they just want to know how to reset it. the answer is YOU CANT. like I said great knowledge but the video is a waste of time for those looking for the answer. Obviously I wasn't the only one to think this. thanks for the knowledge
I should change the title to: "You can't reset the Oil Change Message" ? Would that be more helpful? I don't know why you can't change the message, because only the manufacturer could answer the question. But then again, you can reset the message by just leaving the mower or better the ignition on for two hours.
That is because it resets itself after a couple of hours use, I know it seems dumb to have it still ( on change ) oil when you just did it. I just gave up on finding how to reset my oil change light and it just goes out after you mow a few times.

Congratulations. I did a 180 hour review of my mower here th-cam.com/video/hw5hxiKFQqo/w-d-xo.html

Wow! Someone who pronounces Husqvarna correctly. :)
All I wanted was info on how to reset it. I didn't need a long dichotomy on how the meter works. One sentence would have sufficed. "You can't" 😆
Thank you....Good to know that somebody out there knows something.
Thank you. I bought a used Cub Cadet and I've been searching everywhere for how to reset the oil chang message.
Thanks, good to know!
I was wonderering how to reset this message.
Very helpful.
Nice 👍 thank you!!
Mine is the rz5424 I've changed the oil 2 times since the flashing has started. I change beginning of cutting then towards the end if it needs it or not. But mine has not stop blinking.
That mower has a different hour meter, you should have a button on it that is used to reset the oil change message.
I have the same mower and it does the same thing.
This may or may not work for you. I have that same gauge on a John Deere L130 and the oil symbol has been flashing for weeks, easily over 20 hours now. Just ordered a new gauge for $15 on eBay, hopefully mine is just defective.

For most small engines just hold a magnet to it and it will reset
You could have said that waiting 2 hours after 50 hours of running will reset it in the first minute of this video, or change the title. The title was about the oil change message, not the hours.
Rob Haskell i learned this method from the news stations on TV.
It was about both idiot, its one item, two displays.. The hour meter is what relays the message.
manual says to switch iginition on and off 5 times (1 sec each) however it does not work for my model yth 22v46
Rick Murillo manual is wrong. as i explained in the video
Whits Husqvarna tractors does it fits in
Mine is saying low oil but the dip stick says it is full.
turn ignition on and off for 5 times and it will restart the oli change message.
Looduse Film Not the model shown in this. video. It is possible that there are newer models out there.
ok ;)
Works fine for CTH 164T 2014
Thank you. It reset my John Deere maintenance icon.
Just turn ignition on and off, not starting engine, about 5 or so times. Works for Z252E zero turn mower and others... quicker than waiting 2 hours!
Philip Maxwell doesn’t work on this model
I have an Ariens Ikon42xd new and it has a flashing symbol to the left of the 2.5 hours it says i dont know what it means. It only flashes when key is on and running

man!!! that was a long way to go for you can't do it. Jesus christ.
Sorry, i didn't mean to waste your time.

Shu's Geocaching You can also mow the grass for 2 hours and it turns off too.
sounds more like the way to go. thx
My husky zero turn, you just cycle the ignition 5 times in 5 seconds to reset the maintenance meter.

Cut to the chase already. Thought you would never get to the point.
Ray Maresh I thought you would like to know the details!?
Waist of resources, a hour Meter that can't be reused.
Damned engineers trying to stay relevant, if something is working fine IT Must be changed.!!!
yay
SHTOPP!!!...................Carryon
All that and you could’ve just said you can’t thanks😂
It's automatic , thanks.
Thanks for wasting my time with what could have been a 10 second video
How to reset. The answer is you cant? This is not a how to video
A better title would have been ‘how the gauge resets itself’, or ‘how oil reminder automatic reset works’. Definitely not a ‘how to’.
Not made in america !
It made in usa
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good knowledge terrible video. no you cant reset oil change message. just change your oil as required and the message will soon reset by the hours
What is so terrible about the video?
mygiguser it says how to change oil change message/meter. sime answer you can't. most don't care about the meter itself they just want to know how to reset it. the answer is YOU CANT. like I said great knowledge but the video is a waste of time for those looking for the answer. 2 minutes and 37 seconds to say you can not do it. Click bait and misleading title. You need a life.
You are retired, you have have all the time in the world to watch this. Give me a break!
Watched the whole thing for nothing. A total waste of time! Don’t watch. It’s pointless. You cannot change or reset the hour meter.
Shane Whitacre thanks Shane !
What if you changed the oil and it still flashes change oil?
That is because it resets itself after a couple of hours use, I know it seems dumb to have it still ( on change ) oil when you just did it. I just gave up on finding how to reset my oil change light and it just goes out after you mow a few times.
