    It definitely is a good bike to learn on. I have a 2006 750 Katana, it is my first bike and I have had zero problems with it.
    Fast, comfy, reliable, stable, sporty and good for long distance.

    My mom just bought me one as my first real motorcycle, i am on the Canadian prairie and it gets extra windy. As well, our roads for the most part are long and flat, my commute is 60km each way.
    I really enjoy the bike, I have a two brothers muffler and she sounds awesome.

    This was my first bike in 1993. Drove it all over and had a great time on it.

    I love my 2001 Suzuki gsx600-f Katana. My Kat. Yes its 100 lbs. Overall heavier compared to all other 600 models in this category, However that's a benefit when riding. Definitely. I'm stripping mine down typ paint it. Putting on new RK Chain and Sprockets, New Clutch and Brake levers, New Shows... Pierelli Angel ST .. etc... love my kat. ;) it's a great lil bike.

    It’s a good bike to learn on. It isn’t powerful, it’s heavy and sluggish. I owned one. If you are a cruiser type, skip this. Sport bike? Hop on. The bulky, sluggish oil to air cool will set you up with something that won’t have you looking for pedals so you don’t get run over merging into traffic. I bought 2 Hayabusas since and a ZX14r. The Katana did everything I expected of it.

      Even B-Man update: had the bike for a month then decided to sell because it had a annoying choke on it, and the kid who bought it caught it on fire!

    • @calvinhoward2277
      @calvinhoward2277 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@theinfinitejoe if you were having problems with the choke, that means it's time to get your carburetor rebuilt, mine was doing the same thing when I first bought it, when I finally got the carburetor rebuild and all the vacuum hoses change, the thing starts up no problem with just half choke, that kid who bought your bike probably primed too much fuel into the carburetor and that's why it caught on fire

    I disagree, it is the perfect bike to start out with, and the cc's is not too low to where you have to upgrade whenever you got more experience, it's pretty much the perfect all around bike for beginners and experienced Riders, my first bike and my current bike is a 98 katana which looks just like this by the way

      600cc as beginner bike? Och boy everyone who i know started at 50-125cc bike (EU Laws). They don't complain about not having to much power. for 125cc bike you got
      1: Super low cost insurance
      2: Super low cost of maintnence
      3: MPG is 94, you dont need to worry about fuel to much
      4: Its fun to ride. You can rev this little 125cc engine to the top in city and dont get a speed ticket
      I don't know why americans recomend 600cc bikes for first motorcycle. Its just straight stupid. If you have lower power you can actually learn better how to drive. I know some guys that sells 600cc bikes and buy 300-400cc to learn how to drive better and its work.

    • @proteg30
      @proteg30 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blawkenmusic What a shitty take.
      In the EU highways don't exist bud. Drive 3 hours and you're in another country. Your pathetic little bikes would be completely unusable in city to city crossing. Also do you not understand that cc's mean basically jackshit in the grandscheme of power? This is a sport touring bike that is 600ccs, another 600cc the GSXR600 would completely fucking obliterate this bike.

    I started on 50cc > 125cc > 500cc. I agree to start small and learn to crash gracefully. It's not that one can't go bigger, but one shouldn't necessarily.

    Have the exact same bike. The only issue I had was starting issues once the bike was hot. Turns out these bikes are very picky when it comes to batteries. You want a high amp battery for sure. Would love to know where you got the LED's?

    Oh PLEASE, 600 too big for a newbie? I call BS. I started on a 750 and had ZERO Problems. You ride to your abilities and stay within them. As you get more refined ( and some folks it takes years) you can get more aggressive but the 600 top speed is 130, hardly a dangerous ride. Dangerous riders sure, not the bike. Bulky and heavy ? What are you a poosay? Liter bikes are heavy not 600's.
