Thanks a lot for sharing your Hornby Dublo memories! I have enjoyed watching all your videos. I live in Sweden and Hornby Dublo unfortunately is very unknown here. When I grew up in the 50s and 60s the German brands Märklin, Fleischmann and Trix were available. I got a simple Trix Express train set one Christmas. My parents never could afford to give me the more expensive Märklin trains. Eventually I managed to buy a Märklin loco which I could run on the Trix tracks. Well, I never built a real layout and so the years passed. Now soon at 65 I have decided to rekindle my model railroad hobby. This time it will be with the English 00 scale though. I've already collected a lot of old and new Hornby, Bachmann, Mainline, Dapol and Airfix stuff (I have to buy everything from England) and hopefully I'll be able to start building a small layout this summer. At the moment I'm running my trains on a table like you did in the beginning.
I'll keep watching your videos to get inspiration. I almost feel like an English boy when watching them :)
    Cheers from Sweden, Anders

Hello Anders and many thanks for your kind words. To me Hornby Dublo is the greatest toy ever and if my videos give someone pleasure and enjoyment, I am very happy.
Good luck with your new layout, am I right in thinking it will be 2 rail? If so, remember that Hornby Dublo also made 2 rail and of course there is WRENN which is also 2 rail and already fitted with Triang tension lock couplings. Wrenn models are made in metal and from the original Hornby Dublo moulds. They are fantastic.
Please let me know how it all progresses and if possible post a video or two. I have several ideas for new videos so please keep looking.
      Best Regards, Richard Spencer.

Thanks. It is great to see these old Hornby-Dublo still running. I have a few pre-war pieces. But they are too fragile to run. I do have two horseshoe magnet locomotives. I really need a magnetizer to get them runing good.

Many thanks for your comments, yes, they really are captivating to watch and fun to use. If it is of any help, I have a remagnetizer that will do Hornby Dublo horseshoe magnets and of course the later Alnico ones. If you live in the UK please give me a ring and we can probably sort something out. My tel no. is 01526378784.
