I've had my 911 Turbo S for 2 weeks now after driving a 718 Cayman for a year. I loved that little car, but now see it as an intro Porsche for someone who has never had one. I have never driven a finer, sturdier, more comfortable, faster and responsive vehicle as the 911 Turbo S. It's exhilarating to drive. I highly recommend that if you can afford one, go for it. This is my husband's dream car and he has wanted one all his life. He and I own one now and he was a little hesitant because of the price. But I told him that a walker doesn't fit well on the back of a Porsche, so get it now while you're young enough to enjoy it!

Can I afford one ? Hmm 🤔 honestly ? No. Doesn’t stop me appreciating a truly wonderful example of Porsche engineering though.
"did we just drive away in a Porsche 911 Turbo or a Panamera?" - that succinctly explains what's wrong with modern 911s. They are no longer sports cars, but fast tourers aimed at rich people who don't want involvement with their car, let alone who can actually operate a handbrake. And when you do want a 911 to be a sports car - you want a GT3 variant - you can't get them, or you have to pay tens of thousands over list for them. The modern 911 situation is ridiculous. No wonder older 911s are in such high demand (not that the prices of those are going down)
@@yellowporscheguy9027 why do you think the 996 killed the 911? They drive much better than the 993 in terms of handling. True, you don't get air cooling, but emissions regulations killed that, not Porsche, and the interior on the early cars is pretty bad, but the driving experience is far superior. The 996 is still a small, light car compared to the 991 era cars, and the focus is still on performance over luxury, which is where we're at with 991/992. IMHO.

Roger, excellent review. I took delivery of a 992 C4S in Oct. Put 11,000 miles on it. Wonderful car. Two months ago I bought a 2007 997 Turbo, another excellent car; except the dealer did not tell me it was previously involved in a MAJOR accident. I found out about it after the purchase. Last weekend my wife and I found (another dealership) a 2015 911 Turbo S, “highly-highly” optioned (original MSRP $236+K). Racing Yellow, wonderful black accents painted on the car. Test drove it and it was a done deal. It is so nice...it is....nicer, in some ways, than my 992. Not complaining, but I agree with your professional assessment, this 911 Turbo S is a world-class car!

I have the 2015 slightly tuned to 620HP. It is a lot of fun and never disappoints me. Truly, if you must own one super car, Turbo S has to be it. With 30K fun miles, zero issues so far. Blows my AMG-E63S in reliability.
Thanks Porsche for maintaining the 2+2 seaters in the 911 series until today. After several years i keep on upgrading to the latest version and now it’s about time I upgrade to this 2021 version. Though at this age 62 now, 911 Turbo S is alway my first preference above its contenders, as it’s convenient, i use as a daily car to office. Over the weekend now i bring along my grand children at the rear seats, my children have their own choice of supercars hihi.. I am looking forward for this 2021 model landed in my country. Finally. The 911 Turbo S. I've been waiting for you to review this simply stunning beast of automotive technology for ages. And now that it's arrived, I can finally stop stalking you and find someone else to pester... So it's "goodbye" from me... ...and it's "hello" from me... Only joking. The stalker returns... :-))... I love the Turbo S. This version, with 4WD and a build quality that would leave other so called, upmarket, "luxury" car makers in the dust, out "hypes" so called hypercars. I cannot think of another car that will get you from point "A" to point "B" on British roads as quickly, safely or as comfortably in all weather conditions as this 911 Turbo S. Not only will it realign your internal organs if you want to take it for... Let's just say "a play". But it will caress you sublimely in it's relaxed driving mode making it a true, everyday car. Great video RB. :-))... Still your No1 Stalker (Just because you've done a video I've been waiting for you to do for ages, doesn't mean you've gotten rid of me!!) :-))... PS - Sigh... All I need to do now is actually get into the driver's seat of one to prove my points. Ho! Hum... :-\...
You had me worried for a minute there Mr Stalker, I'd surely hate to see you go, and reading your words its occurred to me that you should consider writing about Porsche Cars, beg a test drive of one maybe, make a vid !!! 😊
@@RogerBaileyOnCars - Thanks RB for those kind words. I'd be dead frightened to sit in the 911 Turbo S... For about 4 minutes as I worked out what does what. However, Porsche wouldn't get the car back. I'd definitely make sure of that. And I'd also challenge myself to beating racing driver Jack Sears', 1964 trip up the M1 which brought about our 70mph speed limits. He did 185mph! The new 911 Turbo S would easily beat that :-))...
@Top Fitness - I know it's not a 992 Turbo S. But it's still a Turbo S and presented by Roger "Mr. Porsche" Bailey as only he can. So damn good in my opinion.
Roger: appreciate the comparison with your GTS. I was wondering if there was too much power and I should stick to the GTS but now, I'm going for the Turbo S to go along with the 458 spider in my hangar.
Roger: what is the subjective seat of the pants difference in "response and pull"? two or three times your GTS? Also, was it still worth while even in big city....I keep hearing people say that it's of no value in daily driving and only noticeable on track. I do appreciate the pull of a turbo even if its in regular traffic or a few straights. Great job mate. I just subscribed.
Turbo S is very noticeably punchier than the GTS , its a very quick car, it has more soundproofing and is the better day to day car. GTS is very good on track I cant vouch for the Turbo S but I'd imagine it's a fair bit quicker. Turbo S is likely to loose more value though, tough call but for me the Turbo S is the one to have if you can afford it.
Interesting comparison to the GTS. I own the 991.1 GTS for a few more days, then it gets replaced by the 991.2 turbo s. To say I'm looking forward to that is an understatement I feel. Cheers for the video, was good to watch.
The 991.2 turbo s in testing beat the Ferrari 458 Speciale with Jethro Bovingdon at both wheels with a 1:13.6 versus a 1:14.2--a car for the rest of a life time. The 918 Spyder ran a 1:12.4.
It has to be amazing ...I was leaving the casino one night in my 2007 911 "BASE MODEL" if there is such a thing. On a dark stretch on i10 in Mississippi heading to bama at 315 am I hit 177 with my top down so easily. I no that the turbo s is capable of 220 despite what is claimed..
Great review again Roger. As a bit of constructive criticism, may I say there's more to these cars than straight line acceleration. You mentioned the widow maker of past, but didn't mention the handling in much detail. Would be nice to know how it turns in, changes direction, how progressive the grip is, how it's balanced front to rear etc Cheers
read quite a few reviews from drivers who have gone from the 997 turbo to this and preferred the older model. Specifically relating to dead steering feel and bumpy ride!
I test drove one once. The fastest car I've driven. Insane acceleration. By the way you forgot to mention the standard carbon brakes. The braking was brutal. I want but sadly that 200k price tag is daunting. Maybe someday.
yes my thought is do it ! it'll cost a ton of money of course and will depreciate more than a GTS but having driven a 991.1GTS & this turbo S back to back the Turbo S is way more of a car, the Turbo non S doesn't loose much either.

@@RogerBaileyOnCars thanks for your great review.
Well done Roger a little different to the usual 911 turbo s reviews more in line with the reason most buy 911s the passion for the car.
thanks 👍🏼
keeps me
wanting thanks
200 miles per hour- that is rapidity.
I just took delivery of a very well appointed 2019 TTS
Way to tear it up off the get go! We have trees on our lot I won't cut because I know they are widow makers... looks like a fun ride.
Nice one Roger!
Interesting comparison to the GTS. I own the 991.1 GTS for a few more days, then it gets replaced by the 991.2 turbo s. To say I'm looking forward to that is an understatement I feel.
Cheers for the video, was good to watch.
fabulous car I imagine you will love it
The TRC channel has a 2016 Porsche 911 turbo 0-60 mph in 2.1 seconds and 1/4 mile in 9 sec.
wow, it doesn't surprise me tfs
bet you can fit 6 more cylinders and 2 more turbos where those back seats are
Excellent car oosm shoot and location is great💯💯
Amna's Kitchen thank you 👍
The 991.2 turbo s in testing beat the Ferrari 458 Speciale with Jethro Bovingdon at both wheels with a 1:13.6 versus a 1:14.2--a car for the rest of a life time. The 918 Spyder ran a 1:12.4.
thats interesting to hear thanks.
epic
yellow Carrera Clubsport, nice car, Miami blue GT3 not an easy choice between them.
ah you like the GT3 but didn't yours throw an engine ? great to hear from you Janko
Now I know what to tell my kids to get me for Fathers day.
Lovely interior spec. Only negative is the excess of text that Porsche put on the back.
I own the “humble” 991 Carrera and what a beast that is ... can’t imagine what it’s like to drive the Turbo 😱
My favourite car playing NFS Most Wanted
Enjoyed the video, your voice is very deep, almost broke my speakers! But loved the content.
glad to hear you enjoyed, I'll take another look at my sound settings :-)
S WB invest in Burmester speakers.
Ron Stopfer will do.
Thanks Patrick constructive criticism is very much appreciated, I'll remember that 👍
read quite a few reviews from drivers who have gone from the 997 turbo to this and preferred the older model. Specifically relating to dead steering feel and bumpy ride!
Totally brilliant review love it 😍
cheers Guy
Audio is missing most of the high-frequency sound in the voiceover, making it hard to decipher.
interesting, I'll check this, thanks
The turbo is not the widow maker that name was given to the old gt2.
Awesome, I love your videos every time more.
Thank you
Great review.
thanks
Nice review. Thanks for posting. From TX USA.
thanks for looking in
Thank you for an enjoyable video Roger. What a lovely 991!
Would you trade your GTS in for a Turbo S?
The GT2 was known as the widow maker, as its rear wheel drive, although the newer models are tamer.
Not that i would know!
Why hasn't Porsche made the Cayenne Turbo S e hybrid?
I think a full EV may be in the making
Wonderful ivid as usual, Roger! How is the GTS doing? Has it forgiven you for the brief fling with the Turbo S?
Lerxstification thank you, great hearing from you again, my GTS is now sold and this Fridays video will reveal its replacement 😊
Great Review 👍👍👍
Dream Car 😡😡
thanks Dave 👍
I thought it was the early GT2 with the widow maker name,. Rear drive only..
another great review rodger, loads better than those young gun so called car reviewrs, cant wait for the next one
Shaun King thank you Shaun good hearing from you again
Can’t stand those self promoting TH-cam kids
Great review! Only question you did not answer is whether the kids REALLY need to go to college--or if daddy needs a Turbo S.
College is overrated.
Nice vid...you sold the car to me.(I just need to win the lottery 🤣) although I have recently bought a 2004 targa in silver...
Great video!!
I test drove one once. The fastest car I've driven. Insane acceleration. By the way you forgot to mention the standard carbon brakes. The braking was brutal. I want but sadly that 200k price tag is daunting. Maybe someday.
yes expensive ! thanks for mentioning the carbon brakes 👍
I have a GTS 991.1 and thinking of trading in for a 991.2 Turbo. Any thoughts Roger.
yes my thought is do it ! it'll cost a ton of money of course and will depreciate more than a GTS but having driven a 991.1GTS & this turbo S back to back the Turbo S is way more of a car, the Turbo non S doesn't loose much either.
Thanks roger I am looking at a standard 991.2 Turbo that’s a year old from a Porsche Dealer. Time to arrange a test drive.... Thanks
Nice video Roger...now get out in the 992 Turbo S and let us know how it compares.👍🏻😎
will do Douglas
